Abstract:
For my capstone what I decided to make was a book. The purpose of this book was to be entertaining yet possess some information regarding things that could happen to our world if we did not take care of it. To most people this could seem like a simple task but a good amount of research was needed in order to picture how the future would look if say, we don't take action on global warming. I first started out by attempting to write the book without any outline and it was horrible. But that helped me realize I needed to act as if I never knew about the book and that was I made an actual outline to remember what to say next. Through the creation of this book I learned how to describe a setting better and how to blend in information with a form of entertainment. Even if it was tedious due to all the editing that was involved I found it fun and hopefully others will like this book and think about our environmental issues more.

Basics of a game in game maker

Posted by Jean Aviles-Alvarez in TECH (INTRO TO DESIGN MULTIMEDIA) - Hertz - C2 on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 12:47 pm
Before I started this project I barely knew anything about coding. At first I had actually tried another software but I had no luck and then tried game maker. Things such as coding seemed to be hard but it was actually really easy and fast. Things I learned were that of how to make sprites and set instructions for them to act on. I found that every single action needed a command to work and this helped me have a small peak at those people that devote their lives to making video games. Even sound needed to be created as there was none if you did not add it. A small mistake would cause the game to stop working and would require you to check where you made the mistake. These mistakes are the ones that make glitches in the large games that we see around. I also learned how to convert files from one format to another in order to make the game work. At the end I found that to be able to publish the game on different software you had to pay but there was one format that worked which was for windows.

Here what I made was a spiral of Theodorus and even thought it seems complitcated it wasn't.
All you have to do at first is get a protractor, make a right traingle with sides 1 inch long and after that you continue making right triangles that will increase in size by themselves. The math that will be used is that of a2+b2=c2 where the function will keep increasing in size as will the spiral.
