My senior capstone was to redesign the senior cafe. The goal was to enable us as seniors to create something that will be able to stay after our present SLA seniors. We wanted to make the senior cafe a place where seniors would actually like to eat their lunch. Over the course of this project we learned about leadership and taking control and leading by example. We wanted to do this for many reasons. Questions were brought up such as,  How would the space be useful after we leave?  Why don’t many students use the cafe now? ,What kind of room do we want it to be?,. Will it keep more people out of the hallways? ,What would it be used for? We also learned about management and budgeting. We completely renewed it from the paint colors which were chosen by a survey done by students. We brought furniture to go in the room to make it more comfortable and inviting. We purchased games that we thought students would like to play on their free time. We fundraised twice a week to be able to afford all of this stuff. In the beginning we started off with selling ice cream one day and pizza another but the pizza wasn’t making enough money so we stopped that. Towards the end we wanted to add something new to the ice cream. We chose to sell waffles and ice cream, and it was a big success. We also chose to leave something to remember the first graduating class by putting their hand-prints on one the walls in the cafe.

On Tuesday April 26,2016 I volunteered with the Committee of Seventy by going to different polling places and collecting ballots and asking people survey questions. We were responsible in asking four questions to as many many that we could but only the people who were done voting. The four questions were 1. Would you support allowing voters the option to request and submit absentee ballots before Election Day without offering a reason or excuse, 2. Would you support allowing voters the option to vote for a certain period before Election Day at a select number of early voting locations, 3. Would you support amending the PA COnstitution to create an independent Citizens Redistricting Commission responsible for drawing Congressional and state legislative districts, 4. Would you support allowing independent and third party voters to vote in primary election. They voters had the choice to say Yes, No or Uncertain even though that seems so simple not all gave me a simple answer. I had the chance to go 4 polling places around my neighborhood on Election Day Volunteering for the Election Day was a great learning experience for many reasons. One reason it was a learning experience for me because I was actually involved in election which made me become more aware about it. It also made me realize that voting is really important because though it may not seem like your vote will matter it actually will. It also taught me that you don’t have to know everything to vote because while I was asking the people the survey questions not all of them knew what the questions meant. Though it was a great learning experience there were some challenges such as voters not wanting to answer the questions or them not understanding it. During this great experience I did not have the chance to meet anyone special or any of the candidates running. After collecting ballots and asking voters survey questions we were responsible for sending the pictures and tallies for the survey that we took to the Election Ambassador Program Coordinator Walker Moseley. I am glad that I had the chance to volunteer for Election Day and hope more high schoolers get the chance to do it to become more aware about what they will eventually have to do in the future.

Él nació en marzo de tercero décimo, mil novecientos catorce en la Ciudad de México. Su familia estuvieron lleno de escritores que transmiten a él. Él publicó su primera poesía Luna Silvestre en mil novecientos treinta y tres. Se convirtió en el embajador de México a India durante mil novecientos sesenta y dos a mil novecientos sesenta y ocho. Su abuelo introdujo él a literatura y su padre Octavio Solórzano, introdujo él a  ley. El nombre de su madre estuvieron Josefina Lozano. Durante su vida él tuvo mucho problemas y tribulaciones eso hizo su trabaja más difícil. Más tarde en su vida él murió en decimonoveno de abril mil novecientos noventa y ocho.

Mi nombre es JaVon Michaels. Yo nací en el decimocuarto de noviembre de mil novecientos noventa y ocho. Mi madre nombre es Felicia Robinson y yo tiene dos hermanas. Yo tiene dos sobrinas y un sobrino.Yo voy ciencia liderazgo instituto en oeste de Filadelfia. Yo quiero a voy a la universidad a estudio comercio. Yo ahora trabajo en Viajes niños. Mi meta antes yo muero es a ayudo joven niños y estoy feliz en vida.

Entre irse y quedarse

Entre irse y quedarse dude el día,

enamorado de su transparencia.

La tarde circular es ya bahía:

en su quieto vaivén se mece el munco.

Todo es visible y todo es elusivo,

todo está cerca y todo es intocable.

Los papeles, el libro, el vaso, el lápiz

reposan a la sombra de sus nombres

Latir del tiempo que en mi sien repite

la misma terca sílaba de sangre.

La luz hace del muro indiferente

un espectral teatro de reflejos.

En el centro de un ojo me descubro;

El poema Entre irse y quedarse tuvo un calmado sentimiento.  El poema también un tiene tranquilo sentimiento como él. Un tema que plato afuera a mi estuve naturaleza. Otro tema que plato afuera a mi estuve amor. El compara objetos y el cuerpo. Otro tema que plato afuera a mi estuve ser centrado. Yo gusto el poema, yo pensamiento el estuvo un buen poema. Yo también pensamiento el poema estuvo creativo. Yo no puede explicar por qué me gusta este poema pero sólo conectó conmigo

Ella parece a siente solo hoy

Como un árbol en el invierno

Pero su nada nuevo, Ella siente esto menudo

todos escucha es argumentando en el cuarto de al lado

Su cuerpo agita hacia adelante y hacia atrás como un mecedora

Ella trata no a llorar y piensa en cómo the hojas de un árbol a estar de nuevo

Ella compara eso con el amor de su familia

Su familia pasa mal situaciones, pero el amor por entre ellos a estar de nuevo
