End World Hunger!

Posted by Zaniyah Norman on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 9:06 am

In English class, we created fact sheets on important problems around the world, especially Philadelphia. I chose world hunger because everyone wants the world to change and the change starts now with equal distribution of food. I came up with L.T.F which is a non-profit organization, who strives to help the less fortunate around the world. We believe everyone should have the proper amounts of food and that NO ONE should starve!

Love In The Sky

Posted by Zaniyah Norman in Art 2 · Hertz · b1 on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 4:49 pm

In my limited palette, I had a whole lot of different colors and different shades to choose from. I have created the project that I created because it seemed like a very easy way to be colorful and creative while drawing what you choose.  From this project , I learned how to create multiple different colors by adding other colors. I also learned how to paint different parts of a painting with certain brushes. I think my work communicates to the viewer because the viewer can see the painting how I viewed it. I viewed it as if it’s love in the air. . My current work relates to my previous work because I always end choosing basic art pieces that are difficult , or difficult art pieces that I cannot do and i'll fall behind, but for this one I thought simple , and my backstory bigger. My work fits in with contemporary art  because contemporary art is art that has been created and continues to be created during our lifetimes. With limited palette , it fits into contemporary art because most female artist tend to draw hearts since it’s easier to express. Creating this project , I believed it was gonna be easy. Turns out … It was the total opposite. I had to pick three main colors then try and create other colors by combining the colors , with each other . For example,  My colors were black , white and white . For my palette I had black mixed with blue ,blue mixed with white mixed with black and etc. Then i would have to figure out which color goes where An artist or art piece that inspired me was Shar and his piece called “ hearts on fire”. This art piece inspired me because there were sky high roses on a long stem with red streaks smeared on it to make it look like it’s on fire . So I figured I will draw blue hearts to relate to the sky. My art work could relate to my life because there is all types of love spreaded everywhere , whether it’s friendships , relationships, or just somebody who wanted to help. My work can influence people that it’s okay for their artwork not to be huge and full of a whole bunch of detail as long as their backstory is bigger, that makes everything better. A certain technique that is very important for limited palette is choosing your main colors. This technique is important because you have to mix them colors with the same colors , and change the volume from dark to bright or however you want you painting to be. So you will need to think all of that through before actually painting.

Bright flower , In A Dark World

Posted by Zaniyah Norman in Art 2 · Hertz · b1 on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 1:28 pm

In my linoleum prints, I explore line and light and shadow. Everyday objects inspire me whether it is a teapot, cup and saucer, or the flowers in a garden or just random heart pictures. I chose to create the linoleum cut project because it seemed easy , and very detailed by using simple steps and stencils. I was hoping to achieve a different way to create and print in a different type of way instead of the old fashioned way. Nobody likes being boring ,they like exploring new things. I think my work communicates with the viewer because the viewer can see the painting how I viewed it. I viewed it as if it was a bright strong flower in a dark world, where no one was like her, and she wasn’t afraid to stand out. Working on this project I achieved how to think smaller , and basic first and then work my way up to the top to achieve a great art project. My current work relates to my previous work because I always end choosing basic art pieces that are difficult , or difficult art pieces that I cannot do and ill fall behind, but for this one I thought simple , and my backstory bigger. My work fits in with contemporary art because contemporary art is art that has been created and continues to be created during our lifetimes. With linoleum cut , anybody could have the same one as me , as long as they do their outlining the same, or they carve the middle then it would be different because the background would be white instead of black. The process of creating this project was First I chose a difficult flower to draw but I couldn’t draw it smaller onto the linoleum board , so I had to choose a much smaller one that’s simple. So I figured since the flower is basic i’ll make the meaning unique. And that’s what I did. After I drew my flower on the board , I outlined what I wanted to be black and what I wanted to be white. So the inside of my flower is white while the outside is black , So for mine I Had to carve along the black lines or around

My Color Wheel Project !

Posted by Zaniyah Norman in Art 2 · Hertz · b1 on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 8:36 pm

I chose this art piece I created because the original one I chose failed horribly. I kept messing up , and the more I messed up the more I got stressed. With all of my messing up I fell way behind. So I came to my senses to recreate an easier project. My overall visual of my project is that I made a basic color wheel clock. I think i’m doing a little better on this one since it’s basic , and i’m actually taking my time doing it. I expect honest comments because it will help me do better on the next benchmark. My current work relates to my previous work because for my previous work I also chose a difficult project to do , and ended up failing it. I just did a plain , simple, boring project, just to get a grade because I was so focused on doing the big creative one. My art fits into contemporary art because it is not too fancy , yet not too boring. It’s just easy and modern. My art also fits into the history of art because multiple people have created a wheel similar to mine just because its basic. A number of projects I do for painting , I always seem to come up with the better looking ones in my mind , but on paper it’s a different story. I always use hard ideas , when really all you have to do is think simple then when your done your outline that’s when you be extra creative. To come up with my original project I just googled some ideas, but for my final piece I just thought of an umbrella , but then my lines kept ended up being crooked , so I thought I should draw extra lines in the middle of the lines I already had to create more shapes and ended up liking the idea. An artist that influenced me was Georgia O’Keeffe. She influenced me to do my flower color wheel with all of the difficult shapes and the pretty light coats of paint. Another person that influenced me was my friend. I really liked how hers was turning out but didn’t wanna use the same idea so I spiced my up a bit adding the extra lines. A certain technique that is important is drawing very lightly drawing your outline just incase you dont like it and wanna erase it . When you draw too dark it’ll stain your paper. A technique that I learned while doing this project is when painting you do light painting first and then you do more paint just to get an even amount of paint onto your paper.

One point perspective

my six word memoir was " independent woman , strong believer , big dreamer" since my memoir was simple, so is my drawing. I picked this memoir because of my mom, she's independant, a strong believer that has big dreams. I didnt know how to put dreams into a room , so I just drew a simple room.

The meaning of my art work is that love is also hate. The definition of a love hate relationship refers to someone or something about which you have mixed feelings, both strong positive feelings and strong negative ones. Love and hate are two different but extreme opposites, yet they exsist in one person. You put them on opposite hands yet both hands are a part of you. you cant love without hate, and you hate without love. What inspired my work is the different levels in relationships , there is always an love hate moment. My location is in front of the art room because love is art.

Social Media Survival Guide

Posted by Zaniyah Norman in TECH 1 - Hertz - e2 on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm

Survival Guide For Social Media:

  • Who am i online? Online i am the same person just without filter.I have no filter online because online, thats your time to be FREE, you can let everything on how you feel, and post what you want.

  • I believe people see me online as if i am older because of how i speak online, how i look online.

  • Before posting online I make sure the post is appropiate, and make sense , and something that i wouldn’t mind reflecting back on me.

  • some pros for sharing online is that you can let your social media know how much fun your having, share your life, and just be free. Some cons of sharing online is that when you have something embarrissing online when you try to delete it, it never deletes. Another con for posting online is that somebody might find out your location if you post a certain place or store, they might stalk you.

  • Lack of Control and Permanence and Immediacy have an impact on my online life because even when you think you control something online it’s always something or someone else that can change that.

  • my thoughts on social media background checks by potential employers is that it shouldn’t matter what you post online because online thats’ when you get to be free and say what you want.

  • A free speech is when you speak freely on the topic, but also be respectful while doing so.

  • An internet troll is a scam artist that has a whole bunch of pop up ads and get paid when someone mistakenly clicks one.

  • The goals of an internet troll is to trick somebody into clicking an ad which will scam them , and the troll would get paid when people click on it.

  • We can stop trolling by if its on the persons page its about it can easily be deleted so no one else can see it , but as if for the people who already saw it , its nothing you can do.

  • some pros of posting online anonymously is  It's easier to be your true self, and You're kind of living a double life.

  • some cons of posting online anonymously is that Your true self isn't tied to a real person, people might take your online self the wrong way, and its not safe.
