This is a video made by group talking abput the importance of eye care and the various afflictions that can happen to one's eyes. Alongside an interview with the wonderful Mrs. Rachel Bishop

I personally wish I could have been around more for the work behind the project, but I am happy I was able to help edit and put the video together

Public health and the Epidemiology of the eye and vision care

Posted by Terrance Johnson in Biology of the Human Body · Aziz · E on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 10:54 pm

For our project, we as a group decide to talk about the eyes from a public health stand point. We gained some general knowledge on eye care and public health through research but that information wasn't enough. So as a result we planed to interview Ms. Rachel Bishop. She is an ophthalmologist and she was able to answer the questions we had prepped. Now, in my group I did do some research and for the interview I was there helping record it. Outside of that I wish I were able to get in contact with my ophthalmologist. As for the meaningful part of the project, it would have to be the fact that people who could see the video would be able to understand that Eye care is a very important subject when it come to the mater of public health.

Public Health and the Epidemiology of Eye and Vision Care

Posted by Samuel Igiozee in Biology of the Human Body · Aziz · E on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 7:56 pm

In the contents of our video, the video contains a skit and an interview. The skit consisted of Terrance losing his footing on the steps since he can't see and I crashing into a locker since I was squinting my eyes. The interview consisted of audio from the interview and images that display eyes. The interviewee in the video was Dr. Rachel Bishop who is an ophthalmologist at the National Eye Institute. The rationale as to why we picked vision and eye care because we believed that the public wasn't getting attention to what might happen to their eyes. To how I contributed to this project and the role I played, I managed to contact and gain an interviewee for the video and interview a person in their actual profession. What I did well was interviewing Dr. Bishop and what I could do well is improve the quality of the video. The most meaningful part of the experience of creating a PSA is making the audience have their attention toward the message of the PSA.

PSA: Public Health and Epidemiology on Vision and Eye Care

Posted by Amirah Knox in Biology of the Human Body · Aziz · E on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 3:17 pm

For this project my partners and I decided to research the epidemiology of Eye care and whether or not it is supported by Public Health. Along with our resources and background knowledge we had an interview with Ms. Rachel Bishop who is an Ophthalmologist and asked her many questions to inform watchers about just how serious eye care is and why it matters in public health.
In the project I did a lot of the research but I wish I was there for the interview. Unfortunately I was busy with the play, but Samuel did a great job asking the questions. I was upset however, that I had to play "Mother" and force my peers to complete their work, but luckily they got the work done.
The most meaningful piece of this project is that everyone who watches will understand the epidemic that is bad eye care and I need everyone to know.

Tobacco PSA

Posted by Alexander Delgado in Biology of the Human Body · Aziz · E on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 1:26 pm

For the last quarter benchmark, me and my group were tasked with creating a PSA video about a public health issue. Me and my group were tasked with the Tobacco industry and how do we combat this epidemic. In the video we talk about the how Tobacco affects the body, how addictive the substance is and how the physical tobacco entices consumers to buy it, among other things. During the project we discovered various things among them the fact that the tobacco industry is a largely negative industry since it causes problems to the general public either through the consumption of tobacco, product of which causes bad health problems and how it impacts other industries economically. The purpose of the video was to educate the public of the problem that is Tobacco and the Tobacco industry and give a professional outlook of the problem through interviews that we did and showed.

Tobacco PSA

Posted by Hagar Mohamed in Biology of the Human Body · Aziz · E on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 12:14 pm

For this benchmark, my group and I created a PSA focusing tobacco. Public health promotes and protects the communities where they live, learn, work and play. Tobacco is a public health concern because it affects people who consume tobacco negatively and the environment, it also affects genetic and health services. The information on the video conation what is tobacco, the skateholders on the tobacco industry and how are tobacco consumers get addicted to it. My role in this is to do research and write the info (the skit). If I have a chance to do something differently is to organize the video more.

During this project I was a producer, editor, and interviewer. I think I did very well on everything. And, I actually liked the topic we choose because I think we had a very important message. Economy, politics, and our society play a big part in our healthcare. I mean, look at the recent arguments about whether vaccines are toxic or not.

HIV PODCAST!!

Posted by Diamond Adams in Biology of the Human Body · Aziz · E on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 8:46 am

For our quarter 4 benchmark me an my partner spoke with a nonprofit organization in Philadelphia a HIV/AIDS organization with the information we received, we were able to create a PSA. It was fairly easy contributing to the project beings though I had help from my partner. It was easy because we found a way to split up the project components. Something we did well was come up with excellent interview questions and getting enough information to create our PSA. The most meaningful part would have to be actually interviewing someone who genuinely cares about this epidemic.

TOBACCO PSA

Posted by Sarah Sam in Biology of the Human Body · Aziz · E on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 8:41 am

PSA LINK

In this last benchmark for Human Anatomy, my group and I created a public service announcement focusing on educating people about the tobacco epidemic, and what we can do as a community into stopping this health issue. The information contained in the PSA covers the topics such as what is tobacco?  Who are the stakeholders in the tobacco industry? How are consumers being enticed by these tobacco products? As for my role, I edited and formatted the PSA. If I had a chance to do things differently I wish the video flowed better together. With any video, there is the question of how to design a video that will be engaging for your designated audience. From this benchmark, I experimented on what would be the best way to communicate all our research and information in a creative way.

Teen Pregnancy

Posted by Sianni Wood in Biology of the Human Body · Aziz · E on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 8:31 am

Our video was about Teen pregnancy and how it affects their lives. I personally wanted to do this topic because it seemed most interesting and relatable. My mother along with a lot of my aunts and friends mother's were teen parents. It seems as if everyone knows someone who had a baby while they were teenagers. I contributed to the project by doing  lot of research on the statistics of teen pregnancy and helping out with the script. I communicated with my group very well. What I could of done differently was try not to procrastinate as much. The most meaningful part of the PSA was they we were all present and we all knew what we had to do and we got it done quickly and it cam out nice.
