What I learned from this project, was the different types of gardening whether it is in the city, mixed farming and or tower farming. Each have their own benefits and cons, but each do help us better our city.

In this project we studied the various types of farming and researched a local farm near to us. We focused heavily on the topic of sustainability and continuing to keep sustainable methods alive while dealing with climate change.

Q3 benchmark owo

During this project I was able to discover a lot of urban farms in my neighborhood as well as some nearby school. the importance of non-conventional agriculture grows as time progresses, processes like aquaponics and tower gardens makes it so that more confined areas are able to grow food and be sustainable. While researching I realized the importance of creating a sustainable environment, as well as growing my own plants with trial and error. After this I would still like to continue growing my own plants and inspiring others around me to do the same.

While doing this project I learned more about some of my favorite ways to garden. That being Aquaponics (because it includes fish/water animals in general Not only that but I also learned about the organizations that help globally with issues involving Food, Agriculture, and land. This not only inspired me to learn more about Agriculture but it also makes me want to chase this field even more.

Throughout this project, I learned a lot of stuff. I learned that there is multiple different ways of farming such as urban farming, tower gardening, and aquaponics. I also learned that climate change plays a big part in food security and why a lot of people now don’t have any food. Luckily, there are organizations that will help these people. A question I have though is will there ever be a time where everyone will have food an there will be no issues? I guess time will only tell.

Through the process of completing this assignment I have learned a lot about different methods of agriculture and how each of them are important in different ways. I have learned how important it is to be connected to your food and how crucial not just our food's nutrition, but its role in our life is. I am wondering how I will implement this into my life and whether I will end up actually growing my own food as an adult. Regardless, learning these skills has been very helpful and insightful.
