Humans Of SLA Beeber: Ms. Reed
Interview For Ms. Reed
Aiesha: Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
Ms. Reed: I would say the biggest influence in my life has definitely been my parents (if I can chose 2 people) basically and still who i am today being able to work hard, importance of education, the value of loving each other, good relationships so definitely my parents.
Aiesha: If you could snap your fingers and make one thing better in the world what would it be? Why?
Ms reed: If I could snap my fingers and make one thing better I would like to be able to make education more equal and equality available to everybody and I think if everyone was offered a level playing field, (you know if everyone had the same opportunity) I just think education is so important to people advancing their lives it influences everything they do for the rest of their lives I would want to make education equal.
Aiesha: what are the most important lessons you've learned in life?
Ms Reed: the most important thing I've learned in life so far is relationships and that you need to really care and love the people around you and never take anything for granted people included in that and really just I know this sound cheesy but living each day to the fullest and not having regrets and really appreciate everything you have.

"Well, the best thing about being a teenager I guess s having experiences and new things and not having as much responsibility as a adult. Like, we don't have to pay bills buy gas or I guess some people do but you don't have to buy a house or have mortgage and it's not like it's mandatory to have a job. The worst thing is to not have as much freedom as you want and stuff, like our parents want us home at a certain time. Like, sometimes it gets annoying.
How different do you think your generation is from others?
"Our generation, I have to say, is worse compared to other generations. Other generations, I think, had more respect. More, like, it's more social expectations instead of individuals desires. But, a plus side to this one is people are less judge free nowadays, like coming up, it doesn't matter what race you are, sometimes it does. But more as we grow, it's starting not to matter what race or what sexual orientation. Whatever you wanna do, you are able to do it and I think that's one of the advantages that we have."
At what age did technology become heavily integrated into your life?
"I think it always was a heavy influence in my life. Like, my first phone, I was like five. I had a phone and I was five. I think that's really cause like my mom and other people said they didn't get their first phone until they were in like high school, that was like crazy."

- What are the most important lessons you've learned in life?
- Answer: "Ahhhh.... I mean, I don't really know, I've come across a lot of different experiences, there good or bad, or whatever but ahh... I don't know I guess one of the biggest lessons is to not to worry about your past and get past things and think about - just live while you can and then just - just don't linger on."
- What does you're future hold?
- "Um... As far as like for career and where I see myself in 10 years? Yeah 10 years. A... I don't really know because almost a lot of people have settled for what they want their career to be like other people haven't but a lot of people have and I'm one of those people that hasn't figured out what they want to do. So I guess um I just going to see how things unfold as I get older. So yeah..."
- Describe your perfect day.
- "Huh... Well... Huh... *chuckles* I don't know. My perfect day would probably be - I like to be around people who don't really judge me and really upbeat and happy people and yeah... Fun. I don't know... Just like... A few other people that are the same way. Uhhhh... If there is food involved... yeah.
