I decided on Excessive heat in homes during summertime homes since it’s an issue that needs to be addressed but is rarely brought up. People are unaware of the effects of heat, including the rush’s to human health and the environment. Heat is potentially harmful and should be treated seriously. I believe that I communicated effectively for this assignment and put up a lot of work, but I could have done a better job of not procrastinating. Working effectively with my group members and collaborating on this project was the most meaningful aspect.

The topic I chose to talk about it my PSA was an asbestos. I chose asbestos because it was an issue that ravaged Philadelphia schools for the past couple of years. In my PSA video my group make a detective style movie where we make our main villain asbestos. During the movie we describe what asbestos is how to, get rid of it, and why it is dangerous. What went well was the overall recording process and the editing, we were able to get it done in a significantly shorter time than we expected. Only thing I would change I would use a better camera. The most meaningful part of this PSA was being able to create a fun but very informative movie for my peers to watch and also hopefully learn from.

My PSA video is about water pollution. The contents of our video speaks on what it is, the causes, and ways of solutions. We chose this topic because this was one of topics we didn’t know much about it. We were able to work together greatly and finish on time. The most meaningful part was learning about the topics for ourselves.

The topic I chose to create PSA about was food insecurity in Philadelphia. I chose this topic because of what we recently were learning about in class and not many people understand what it means to be food insecure. The video PSA me and my partner created was based on the crime shows Law and Order and a little bit of 48 Hours. We wanted to create something that would catch viewers’ attention by doing something familiar. Interrogating the causes of food insecurity makes it easy for viewers to follow while also giving sufficient information.

The creating and planning process went well for me and my partner. Throughout the process, we put ourselves in the viewer’s shoes to be sure they would be able to understand and specific connections. If I had to do something differently I would have added more to the script so some of the things mentioned could be expanded on.

The most meaningful part of the experience of creating the PSA was making the connection to redlining and food insecurity in not only Philadelphia but other cities. It was so meaningful because I was able to see another example of how the practice still has lingering effects.

I chose this topic because I feel like it is something everyone should know about and be careful with. the filtering technique we used is also something I feel the majority of people could do, especially if you are somewhere where clean water isn’t available. I also felt as though it was a great topic considering the recent water contamination rumors earlier this month. What did you do well and what could you have done differently? one thing I did well was contribute as much as I could, especially since it was four of us. One thing I could have done differently was to prepare better for the video. In our video we chose asbestos as a topic to present as it is a very present issue in the Philadelphia school district. Asbestos is a serious problem that affects many people. Asbestos removal is also a costly procedure when needed. What did you do well and what could you have done differently? I feel that our video was great. We could’ve done better when it came to time management because there were a lot of times when someone wasn’t able to make it so we couldn’t shoot a scene or two that day. What was the most meaningful part of the experience of creating the PSA? The most meaningful part of the project was collaborating with my group mates and learning more about asbestos and its impact on people.

1. how the earth systems affect each other for mudslides/landslides: mudslides(geosphere) can be fatal to humans and harm trees and other plants(biosphere). since there would be fewer humans, there wouldn’t be many trees being replanted which would lead to more carbon dioxide in the air(atmosphere). the soil(geosphere) from the mudslide would be eroded which would cause the sediment level in the water to increase(hydrosphere).
2. an understanding of environmental science can aid in handling natural disasters because it can help you know how the earth systems affect different natural disasters to prevent and prepare for if one. for example, planting trees can help to prevent mudslides/landslides because the roots from the trees will soak up additional water that seeps into the ground from the rain, which will make the chance of mudslides less likely.
3. efforts we can make to help create a sustainable future are using fewer fossil fuels which would cause fewer greenhouse gases to be put in the atmosphere, planting more trees, teaching people how to recycle properly and actually doing it, etc.

Earth systems affect each through many different ways. When volcanoes(geosphere) erupt, the molten lava shoots and emits carbon into the atmosphere. The understanding on environmental science allows us to understand why volcanoes erupt and the impact it has on the environment.

Unfortunately we cant do anything to stop volcanoes we just have to stay away from them
