Physics Final Benchmark

Posted by Elijah Grier in Physics · Gray · A on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11:50 am

I chose to do a sword because I like to watch shows about fighting, play video games with fighting, or take part in sparring. A sword is a representation of fighting to me so that’s why I chose a sword. The blue lights on the sword are supposed to represent a sneaky vibe like some ninja type of stuff.

Lit Duey

We always take our friends dueys and wear them. We do this because they get us wavy. So we thought why not get wavy with lights! Which is perfect for the holiday season! It’s something that a lot of people wear in our area so we thought why not add a fun twist to it. We thought, how can we take an everyday object and make it something most people have never seen before and the thought just came to both of our heads at the same time. We feel as though our art portrays us as  fun and creative people with a different way of thinking. -Anna DeSouza

When we come to school we always take our friends dueys just to make them mad. Since they get mad when we take theirs we've decided to get one of our own and make it even better with lights. This is an unique and creative idea because this has never been done in Mr. Gray's physics class. We love our duey because we love getting wavy. It's an amazing way to show holiday spirit as well! ~ Brianna Ricketts

Lit Cases!!!

Posted by Zarriya Wynder in Physics · Gray · A on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 9:56 am

I chose to do this case because I love cases, so I thought it would be a good idea to create my own. I also collect cases so now I can add one more to my collection. -Zarriya Wynder First, we originally chose to do my favorite unicorn case because I love Unicorns so much but I didn't want to destroy it. So, we decided to do a plain case and give our own type of flavor in it.

I did a headband because this was a gift from someone who means a lot to me and I wanted to make it shine.

Electric Art Project

Najla- The reason why we picked a star because Is from my hometown Los Angeles because that’s my home where i am from. The next reason why we picked a brick wall because The brick wall represents that we both come from a place where you see nothing but bricks like brick houses. The bricks are plain and nothing out of the ordinary.

DaShaun- What we made was a star on a brick wall. The brick wall represents that we both come from a place where you see nothing but bricks like brick houses. The bricks are plain and nothing out of the ordinary. However, were represented by the star. The star shows us as a something shining. This represents us shining in our communities. We also choose to do a star is because I want to visit Los Angeles in the future to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Wubbie and Brianna Artist Statements for Circuit Project

Posted by Wubishet Taye in Physics · Gray · A on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 9:44 am

Wubbie:

The 2 hearts represent our hearts. One for each of us. Inside, we have pictures that represents us such as our family, our flags etc…. The hearts coming together captures the moment our friendship collided. The photos in the middle are photos that mean a lot to us. Everything is black and white but when the hearts combine together, you see colors. The colors represent the meaning of our friendship as one.

Brianna:

The hearts represent us. In those 2 hearts, you see pictures of our family, our selves, etc... Those things represents us. Everything is black and white and alone but when you combine those hearts, you see colors, representing that when our lives come together, it gets better.  The colors represent the importance of our friendship as one. This is very important to me because I value true friendship.

Electronic Arts Project

 Elise -
This project represents me because I have a huge interest in art and Vincent van Gogh is personally one of my favorite artists. I chose to do this for my project because I liked the way that the lights represented the stars in the painting at made it look really pretty. In addition, I thought it would be a clever way to put together a circuit, and a fairly straightforward project idea.

This project is a representation of me because I like Vincent Van Gogh’s work and this is my favorite painting of his. I did this for my project because of that.

Electric Art Project (Puerto Rican Flag)

Posted by Carlos Felix-Crespo in Physics · Gray · A on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 9:40 am

  • For our benchmark project we decided to light up a Puerto Rican flag.  Our idea was inspired by the hurricane that happened a few months ago that left the island of Puerto Rico with no electricity by us lighting this flag we are representing hope to those families without light and to the island as a whole. The background idea for this project really hits close to home and means alot to us. For us to use our knowledge of physics to make lights turn on really inspires us because it shows that when we come across disasters like that, our knowledge is power. For our flag we created a circuit that has light bulbs both in a series and in parallel, in order to have each bulb’s brightness equally strong. We came across many challenges with connecting the wires successfully to where they belonged in order to light the flag but we overcame them by revising our notes and getting help from our peers. I hope that you enjoy our project and find it as inspirational as we did.

The reason why I use headphones because like using my headphone. I think when I use my headphones feel my brain bright up. The different color lights show the different thoughts I have in my brain. One part is brighter because one part of my brain is stronger. I just Like music.
