Posted by Symaira Whitfield-Pittman in Intro to Tech and Comp App · Hertz · a1 on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 8:43 am

The use of this project was to find out people data. To find out how they use they phones and what they use it for. This project its about my cell phone use data and also my peers cell phone use data. Half of my peers well like 27 of my peers are texting while doing homework. Tips for my peers just work on one thing at a time and don't rush and do things cause that's how you mess things up

My cell phone use project!

Cell Phone Use Data

The purpose of the project is to be more conscious of your own phone use as it relates to research around learning, brain function and addiction.

My conclusion is that Cell-Phone addiction is real, and based on my data it is bad. Multitasking is also bad and kills your brain performance.

I did not have a tips slide.

The purpose of this project was to compare cell phone results from yourself and your peers then see how it relates to multitasking and cell phone addiction. I believe that high schools use app on there phone too much. That what they're doing now can become a habit and start a big addiction for cell phones. While they also say that multitasking with there phone help it can decrease the amount of work done in a time period. This is all based upon data and website where i research multitasking affects and cell phone addiction.

Cell phone addiction is bad when you hear it, but you don't realize how bad until it is until you see how it's controlling your life. Multitasking is even worse than Cell Phone addiction. This project will explain how cell phone addiction and multitasking will control your life if you don't do anything to stop this addiction from taking control.
In conclusion, people on their phones will have a difficult time trying to stop this addiction since people spend so much time on their phones. People will learn that being on their phones for so long will affect their lives and can cause problems.
Tips
  • Do activities to keep your mind off your phone.
  • Lessen the time you spend on your phone
  • Turn off your phone
  • Or ignore your phone for as long as possible

The purpose of this project was to find out how much people use their phones on the daily basis. The details and information that I found was that people use snapchat and instagram more so then any other apps or just play games. The tips that I have for people that over use their phone is turning off your phone when your not using it and also putting it away meaning in your pocket or book bag.

Multi-tasking and Cellphone Use Project

Posted by Lina Burghezi in Intro to Tech and Comp App · Hertz · a1 on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 8:42 am

In this assignment I had to track how often I turned my phone on and off throughout two days. My class also had to track this data and insert their information into a Spreadsheet document. I had to calculate the data, the averages of my class, the least and greatest numbers, and create charts. The goal of this project was to see how often I used my cell phone, how often my class uses their cell phones, how we multitask during important work, what applications we use the most, and how the data of my cell phone use and my class’ cell phone use compared.
In conclusion, I believe that cellphone addiction and constant multitasking is a situation in today’s society. I learned, through my observations, that the students in SLA Beeber spend a lot of time using their phones and multitasking while completing their work. I have also learned how often I use my phone, along with how it compares to my classmates and other students at SLA. I learned through my research, that cellphone addiction causes us to look at our phones while talking to people, the first thing you do when you get somewhere is charge our phones, we fall asleep holding our smartphones, we check our phones first thing in the morning, our phone bills are huge, and we feel anxious when your phone is not with us. I also learned through my research that multitasking actually makes our work less successful and we work very slowly. We are actually switch-tasking and going back and forth between the two assignments. We are not actually completing them at the same time.
Some recommendations I have for my classmates and even myself, is that we should focus more on our school work, instead of multitasking so often. Some tips I have found from research online to assist us with limiting our cell phone use include: For the first 30 minutes of the day we shouldn't go on our phones, we should create “no-phone time zones”, turn off our phones when we get in the car, live more in the moment and reality, and try not to lose sleep over our phones.
Here is my spreadsheet for the Cellphone Use Project. I collected my data by using the app Checky, which told me how often I turned my phone on, and the app Moment, which told me how many hours I spent on my phone everyday. I also used the spreadsheet, which told me the data of the other students in my class.

This project is about how many times does a person use their phone and what causes them to do it. My goal is to know why does this happen to people and how many times does a person use their phones every day. Since the average number for a person in 9th grade to use their phone is 73, people are addicted to their phones because researchers say that this is caused by “Dopamine”. Based on the data, the majority of the students mostly use YouTube due to the entertainment of videos.
