My Cell Phone Use Project

Posted by Jamal Musa in Intro to Tech and Comp App · Hertz · e2 on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 1:22 pm

In this project we were analyzing our cell phone use data gathered by the freshman class, and analyzing our cell phone addiction.

In conclusion cell phone addiction corrupts teenagers and distracts them from doing anything but using there cell phones. Cell phone addiction also leads them to believe they are multitasking when in reality they are only switch tasking my cell phone addiction compared to the rest of the grade is average

Next me and my classmates should delete apps that take up to much of our time, and  when doing something important put away your phone so it doesn't distract you.

To view the final cell phone use data click here.

To collect the data we had the students of the freshman grade upload there lowest amount of checks and highest amount of checks over 2 days for their cell phones, what they spent most of their time doing, how they multitask, and their comparisons.

The purpose of this project is to show the phone use of myself and others. We will also compare and see how much we multitask and use or phones. In conclusion I saw that my peers used my phone more than me and they use instagram most of the time while they on their phones. Tips that I have is that we can turn our phone off while we are in class because its rude and a distraction.

The purpose of this project was to show us the amount of times we are on our phones and if we have an addiction or not. My conclusion was that I found out that I don't really check my phone as much as I think I do. My data showed me that more of the 9th graders check their phones more than I do. the tips I have are instead of being glues to your phone you should get outside and have fun. Maybe you can turn your phone off for an hour and read a book. Also download an app that helps you minimize your phone usage.CLICK HERE to see the data.

The purpose of this project was to compare my cellphone use data with the class.
So multitasking is just your brain switching from two or more different jobs or tasks.
We use the Checky app to check our cellphone use.

Multitasking & Cell Phone Use Addiction Project

Posted by Alexis Campbell-Sydor in Intro to Tech and Comp App · Hertz · e2 on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 10:00 am

The goal of this project was to be more conscious of your own phone use as it relates to research around learning, brain function and addiction.

What I found is that a majority of the 9th grade can be classified as addicted to their phone. When you look at the data you see people below the average, but also people way above the average. As in 30-40 checks per day above the average. Based off this finding I now believe it would be a good thing if everyone around the average of 71 checks per day started using their phone a little less.

The next step for those addicted to their phone, is to try and break or lessen their addiction. There are several things you can do to cut back on phone use.
Such as:
  1. Don’t sleep next to your phone
  2. Get an actual alarm clock, instead of using your phone
  3. Monitor your phone use
  4. Try and set a limit to phone use per day
To gather our we used the app 'Checky' so that we could track our cell phone use. After that we filled out a google form with our own data, which was then compiled into a google spreadsheet.

In this project we are going to be finding out how many times people in the class unlocked their phones and what was their apps in used as they unlocked their phones. we used an app to collect out data the app we used was checky app. we filled out a form to gather the data on google sheets. we also had to give some tips here are some of mines. So you won't be freaking about your phone too much put your phone on silent or turn it off so your mind not focus on the cell phone. Or
Put your phone on airplane mode so u wont get notifications. in conclusion, Doing this mini project showed me a lot how the ninth grade unlock their phone numerous times for different apps.

The goals for this project was to learn more about cell phone addiction and multitasking and find out how long is too long to be on your cellphone then try to decrease my cell phone use. Based on the data collected from the spreadsheet I think we should all work to stop using our cell phones as much and we should encourage our family to do so too. This is the link to the spreadsheet. This data was collected using the checky app over a few days. g off our phones off and putting them far from us.

This project will consist of things specifically directed towards the topic of Multitasking and Cell Phone Addiction. It will help viewers with phone habits and inform them about the dangers of cell phone addiction.
The 9th graders use their phones way too much and should most definitely take it down a notch. If they don’t, our next generation will be overrun by technology, and it won’t be pretty.Try and separate yourself from your phone.
Actually realize how much you are using you phone, and check in on that daily.
Keep your phone away from you during your sleep and when you wake up. You should not wake up and fall asleep with it in your hands.
Be responsible with your actions!
