Art Elective Project Reflection- Leyitha

My project is a MUG. I design the MUG with symbol and words that only I can fully understand. I knew what was clay. I knew when you apply water it becomes more manageable. I wanted to learn how to make a MUG. I wanted to learn how to work with clay. I think I accomplished that goal. Firstly because I made a MUG not a perfect one but not an awful one either. I understand clay way better now. I think I accomplished the goal because I was able to make the MUG and learn new things about clay. I learn a lot of skills on how to work with clay. The pinching technique and the coil method. And I also learn when you let the clay to dry you can not add another part to it, because it will shattered. I’m most proud of the fact I didn’t give up even when it was challenging to work with clay. If I had this project over again I would have try to put the handle before the body of the MUG was dried.

Lyitha, I am also very interested in doing more and learning new things about clay. However, one thing is that your project doesnt have a title to it. So, my question would be, why did you do this project. Did it have any meaning behind it?
