Cash'e Chapman's Capstone

One thing that SLA has embarked on me is Reflection. I have incorporated it into every aspect of my life. Reflecting on decisions I have made, have to make, things that occur can occur, and everything in between. So once I entered my senior year I instantly started to reflect on my high school journey as a whole. Thinking and reminiscing about everything. Who I was how I changed and who I was still becoming so I wanted to leave with something meaning left behind.

At the beginning of this school year I thought that the best thing to leave behind would be an awareness on sexual assaults but through all of life’s obstacles I positively still created a project that I am proud of something that is meaningful to me. My Senior Capstone Project is MY journey through high school using pictures because what better way to show where I started and how I got here than using pictures. My project is a 71-inch tall timeline from the day I graduated from 8th  grade to now. With this outcome, I am extremely proud of myself. For entering my transaction proudly, for being hopeful for what’s to come, for taking my rude awakening on full force. I am extremely proud for fighting through the pain, for surviving it all, recovering with grace, for taking my triumph, and happily enjoying my compensation for it all.

PSA on Lead Poisoning:

Posted by Cashe Chapman on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 9:47 pm

Our video is generally a PSA informing people about lead, the effects of it, and what they can do to help the problem or prevent the problem whether it be themselves or children. I really enjoyed being able to do such seeing that I choose this project because of my very high interest in the   lead problem ever since learning it is a major issue in philadelphia alone. While creating this project with my group members I was able to provide layouts, plans, and ideas on how to reach our audience which I believe I did very well and helped my group succeed.  Overall the most meaningful part of this project was being able to reach out to my audience and help them become knowledgeable.

Through this research and reflection, I have learned a lot about how much our community truly goes through. It shows me how although I hear many different problems in our environment I never really thought or knew it was affecting me so close to home. This leaves me to wonder how will our city be in future and are their dedicated people and projects to change these problems in our community.

Botany Q2 Benchmark Green Design: Peachy Designs

Posted by Cashe Chapman in Botany · Aziz · y1 on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 10:11 am

We are Peachy Designs and we work with many people all over to help them be more green in some shape or form. Our most recent client Ms. Fanning located on the second floor next to Mr.Johnson’s office is our wonderful Guidance Counselor and fabulous creative writing teacher. Sh told us that she wanted her room to be more green so we decided to create a garden box and place it in her room.Ms. Fanning will give the plants what it needs to thrive such as water and general care and since her room has a lot of sunlight that will come naturally. Our green design relates to almost all of our previous assignment which teaches us the inner workings of the plant therefore teaching us how to take care of the plant better and create a stable place for the plant to survive. Overall I would say the as a group we did good on the project however and think that since we were so  exciting in creating we did not plan ahead for possible problems of the garden box such as it being knocked over. We do believe that we satisfied our customer and look forward to working with her sometime soon.

Sincerely,

Peachy Designs Cash’e Chapman, Tyrone Grant, & Ali Omer

La Poema

Posted by Cashe Chapman in SPANISH 2 - Moran - A on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 8:46 am

Nombre: Cash’e Chapman       Clase De Español Dos Banda A

   La Poeta: Julia de Burgos

me arreglo me rompió.

These projects had feelings involved and the level of it being personal. Far as the picking a dream and fantasy trip, and just dealing with an emotional topic poetry.
For the poetry project we selected a poet, choose a poem poem by them and then anaylyze it to understand its theme. From there we created our own poems with the same theme. T^his was not an easy or thoughtless process so we then reflected on the whole process.  Along with all of this we wrote a boigraphy on the poet and an autobiographyon ourselves.

Yusuf Chapman (Chapman, Y., Cash'e)

Posted by Cashe Chapman in AFRICAN AM HISTORY - Roy - E on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:36 pm
Abstract

In this interview I asked my Grandfather general questions about the Civil Rights Movement. He shares something that I was very surprised to here not only from my grandfather but from and African American. My Grandfather is Yusuf Chapman born March 31, 1949. Which means he was between the ages of 6 years old and 19 years old in the Civil rights movement.

Research

In my interview my grandfather mentioned a number of things. A number of interesting things. Some of these things were about his feelings towards MLK, his use of the word Cracker, and the useage of camouflage for segregation today.  S I researched these things that grasped my attention and bolded the question in my head “ How different were blacks and whites mentality when really analyzed?”, and through research and experience of this interview being raised the same in different elements creates the same monster of a attitude. The article “ Would you “like” MLK today does not only judge your opinion on MLK but the society as a whole. Which did not help me agree with my Grandfather ,however it gave me a glimpse of his perspective. In the article “ The history of the word “ Cracker” taught me that it was used more than we thought and less approved than the word “ Nigga”, and with that information it only enlighten me on the intensity of the word and use of it from my grandfather’s vocabulary. Lastly the article “ Is There a Such Thing as Voluntary Segregation?” supports my Grandfather's statement that segregation is camouflaged.

CYC: How much segregation have you experienced in your life?

YC: All my life I just don't pay it no mind

CYC: how intense have the events of segregation you experienced been?

YC: they are much stronger than they were today because we have come so far to get here today

CYC: What do you remember about the following events Murder of Emmett Till,  Lunch-counter sit-ins, Freedom Rides, murder of Jimmie Lee Jackson, Bloody Sunday”?

YC: Please tell me what happened with them

CYC: Bloody sunday was a march on a bridge to ballot

YC: Bloody Thursday.

CYC: No sunday.

YC: Oh only that it  happened.

CYC: How involved were you and your family in the civil rights movement?

YC:  I guess We were very active we all played out some more than other I was the more kind of guy.

CYC: Can you give an example

YC: Militant because whatever it took i was done with it as long as it was for the proper cause

CYC: Do you see a difference in segregation from back then and today

YC: oh most definitely it's much lighter than now because it got a bit better now and they camouflage it more so.

CYC: can you explain what you mean by camouflage ?

YC: They didn’t care if people knew or not

CYC: So you feel as though segregation still exist but it is camouflage?

YC: Right.

CYC : How do you feel as though it is camouflaged ?

YC: Crackers are different now thats all because they were more aggressive with it now they try to posses it off

CYC: Other races besides caucasian and hispanic participated in the civil rights movement

YC: They do because weather the participate or not they are people of color and people don't like to realize that a lot

CYC:  Is there one  story about segregation or the civil rights movement that you would like share

YC: It would probably be life of MLK , because i didn't like him until after he was kilt isn't that strange  but i didn't like for women and  kids to get hit .  hosed down and dogs  stuck on em you know they use to stick them dogs on them people and I tell you it was so vicious I still think it's vicious

CYC:  So you feel as though it was MLK fault?

YC : Not at all he was for the right cause they was for the wrong cause.
