Tymere Alexander's Capstone

Posted by Tymere Alexander in Capstone on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:58 am
Good Morrow ladies and gents! It is me Tymere Alexander. And today, I have for you  my capstone project(Senior project), For my capstone, I decided to create a short novel called The Dark Secrets of the Osaki Hotel. It is a Mystery novel that I have been working on since 8th grade. Writing is a passion for me ever since the 6th grade. I wanted my career to be in writing so I can create stories for people and better myself and to better my understanding of the world that I will be seeing after I graduate high school. The process it took for me to create this novel was hard. I had the concepts ready and knew where everything was supposed to go, but I was packed with work and college preparations. Even with all of this on my shoulder, I continued to press on to complete this project and graduate. The product while not finished, is definitely something that you will enjoy. I would greatly appreciate the feedback on my work.Thank you to Ms Hertz and my mentor Ms Leaness  for being there with me through this whole process.

Good morrow ladies and gents, it is me Tymere Alexander here with mine, Morgan, and Tasheba's finest plant design created! The shape as you can see is a pentagon that looks kinda like a popcorn box, but has a strong structure which will protect the plant as it grows withing the popcorn box.

This was definitely an interesting experience with this project. I never worked in the Maker Space before because I had a fear of using tools. So I had to overcome that fear in order to continue the process on creating the structure.

My group mates were extremely helpful. They all do their work. They were very helpful in contructing the project. Each of us had something to contribute which made the project all the easier.

I have a different view on nature and technology after this project. After completing an assignment on nature and technology, I learned about the yin and yang of the two. Nature is used to create new technology and technology is used to discover more of nature and vise versa. I always thought differently about how they worked.

Deep Poetry with Tymere Alexander

Posted by Tymere Alexander in SPANISH 2 - Moran - D on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 2:31 pm
Final blog for today SLA. Here is my poetry project that I had to complete for Spanish 2. The goal of this poetry project was to create a poem similar to a poem that was created by a famous Spanish poet. Boy do I have a lot to say about this project. For starters, I feel as though that I did not receive the grade that I earned. I met all the requirements. I did everything down to the letter. My poem made some people cry. But I guess that wasn't good enough. I didn't even get a rubric to see where I failed at. Despite all that, I had fun creating the poem. It made me realize how much potential I have as a poet. This is the final blog post for awhile. So long SLA.

Travel Time with Tymere Alexander

Posted by Tymere Alexander in SPANISH 2 - Moran - D on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 2:19 pm
It's been awhile since I've been on here SLA. Here is my travel project for Spanish 2 that I completed with a bunch of friends. The goal for this project was to create a power point in Spanish on why you should travel to the country of our choice. There were a lot of requirements to this project. But in the end, we pulled through and got it done on time. I had fun creating this project with my friends. We stressed, we laughed, we cried, we argued. But in the end, we got it done. Of coarse like with every Spanish project, I never want to do it again.

This is our 2nd Quarter benchmark project Las noticias(the news). This project required 6 classmates to join together and create a Spanish newscast. We need a few parts to play. The roles are:

Anchorman1
Anchorman2
Health
Fashion
Weather
and Breaking news

Overall, this project was really fun and I had a blast with my classmates practicing the scripts and just trying to have fun. It's not just about getting the work done on time, it's about having while doing so.

Hola again fellow classmates. I'm here to offer you another blog post on a project I did in Spanish 2. This was my quarter 1 project named Dia de Los Muertas(meaning day of the dead). What I had to do for this project was to give a brief English summary on who my dead relative was and what he/she liked, what I thought of them as a person, and how they died(optional). Next I had to do a Spanish eulogy on my dead relative and perform it in a video. To me this project was truly amazing because, it got me to understand my family a little more. It also made me realize I'm lucky to be alive.

Hola fellow Sla students. Here is a project that me and mi amigo Kahsir Jones did for Spanish 2. This project involved having a simple conversation in Spanish with certain requirements. Overall, I really enjoyed this project. It got me a little closer to understanding Spanish. While I still have much to learn in Spanish, I'm confident that I understand the concept.

1) Describe your project.
My project was to create an audio track using a website called Audio Tool (www.audiotool.com) that had a beginning, middle, and end. The track is called The Hopeful Prison

2) What did you learn while completing this project?

I learned that I have a passion for making music

3) What was the hardest part about completing this project?

The hardest part of this project was finding the right tracks that go together.

4) What was the most fun/exciting part?

The most exciting part of this project was listening to your finished track and hear the tracks go so perfectly together

5) If you were to do this project over again, what would you do differently?

I would probably make a more exciting track.

Musical Time

Posted by Tymere Alexander in TECH (INTRO TO DESIGN MULTIMEDIA) - Hertz - C1 on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 8:56 am
Greetings everyone, this is a beat that I created for the Tech Project. I call it, The Hopeful Prison. This song is used to describe the despair and suffering that the people inside a prison on a stranded island feel. But in that prison, there one shread of hope that shines light in that place of despair. I like creating music because, it gives me a sense of how  video game composers make music. I hope you guys all enjoy this.

  1. Describe your project
My project was Code Combat (www.codecombat.com) Code Combat is a coding website that helps people code while playing the game at the same time.

  2. What knowledge did you already have about the project before you started?
I knew that this project will have a heavy use of coding and that there are many levels

  3. What new skill did you want to learn coming into the project?
I wanted to know what action coders use to make your character perform specific actions

  4. Did you accomplish the goal of learning this new skill?
Yes I did, I now know what actions to type so the character can that said action.

  5. How do you know you accomplished the goal? If you didn’t accomplish your goal, why do you think that is?
I know I accomplished my goal because, whenever I see enemies everywhere, I can act fast and type the attack action without second thought.

  6. What other skill(s) did you learn along the way?
I learned how to set where your character is going using coordinate planes.

  7. What are you most proud of in this project?
I’m proud that I was able to adapt to the coding process real easy.

  8. What would you do differently if you had to do the project over again?

I would probably try getting use to the coding process a lot faster.
