Tierra Weary Capstone

Book titled 'But Daddy...'Read this free book made on StoryJumper
Sometimes in life we stray away from what is real, taking the focus off the more complex issues creating a false world to live in.

Welcome to Tierra Weary´s Senior Project.  I chose to do a children´s book because not enough awareness is spread to them about certain topics. My book targets children 8 years of age and older. I wrote my book on abuse and chose to write a book of such nature for children, allowing them to see the harsh realizations of society. Abuse came upon as a hard subject to take on because its a children´s book.  I ran into various complications while making this story.  The most challenging part for me was coming up with a story line that wasn´t to explicit for their ears, but enough to stimulate there minds. All in all, my senior project was very fun and interesting. It allowed me to express my creative side. I really enjoyed working with the tools I used and referencing back to old classes and assignments.

For my Capstone, I composed essential questions for myself:

How do you convey difficult messages to young children (8+)?

What could be the impact on a child's life taken what the book displayed?

How do you understand a child's mind?

I hope my story helps young kids in the future.

I have created this art piece because I felt that the light and dark contrast of the design would stand out and speak for the picture. My overall vision was to create an image of how how the year wrapped up. I am hoping that the viewers see that I am displaying various lines textures and shades in my drawing.I feel like I achieved great lines and different textures from how i thought it was going to come out. My current work relates to my previous work because of all the different materials I had to use to bring the drawing out. It was definitely cool to work with the light and dark pencils and the charcoal sticks and pencils. Also erasing and lightly shading with the regular pencils and the gum erasers held mold the design, creating the was but is not there anymore shade.

My art doesn't necessarily fit in with modern day art. You don't see much value and line drawings.During my process of work I used various materials. Materials such as a b pencil for dark lines and shade and a regular number 2 pencil for the lines that needed to be etched. I used a gum eraser to erase some dark marks I made to show a different type of texture in my drawing.

Girl Garbage: Tinkercad Tutorial

Posted by Tierra Weary in TECH (INTRO TO DESIGN MULTIMEDIA) - Hertz - d2 on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 10:31 pm

For this project my design was a better way to keep the girls bathroom a cleaner, fresher, and safer place. The problem that occurs in the girls bathroom is the lack of feminine baskets.  My goal was to create waste bins and put them in each stall and create a clean fresh environment. I made my first outline/blueprint/model on Tinkercad, and thought that it would be a splendid idea to make a tutorial on how to use it.  I didn't really know how to work it at first which is also a reason I wanted to do a tutorial because it is actually a complex tech tool. Others may find it difficult as well and this could very much be a small bit of help. I felt like I learned a lot using this tool. From precise measurement, accurate angles and positioning, make me feel like I was actually building something or planning something like a real architect. I really enjoyed making this tutorial and hope that it could be beneficial to someone else.

This is a my work for all the projects I have composed in art class this school year. I have learned a lot this year in this class and here is my way of displaying it. Through different techniques I have become a better artist and broadened my horizions. I have grasped a deeper knowledge on different tools and how they work. I have really enjoyed my time in art class '16.

Girl Garbage
For this project idea my partner and I are working on a better way to keep the girls bathroom a cleaner, fresher, and safer place. The problem that occurs in the girls bathroom is the lack of feminine baskets. Our goal is to create waste bins and put them in each stall. For this project most of our time was spent in the makerspace. We used the table saw and the other saw. Technology wasn’t something we really incorporated into our project. This being that a wastebin doesn’t require much.

The purpose behind my project was to get an idea of how beats are made and how to create a decent beat that someone could sing or rap to. I hoped to learn about the beat making process that producers go to. I ended up really learning what they go through and how hard the process is.  I feel that my song could have been a little bit better.
