Benchmark Reflection

Posted by Fabiana Cajamarca in Biochemistry 2 · Sasso-Chryst · C on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 7:53 pm

In our video, we created two stop motion videos, one for mitosis and one for meiosis. We showed the step by step by showing each of the phases for both processes which are mitosis and meiosis. In the beginning, we also explained the cell cycle using the process that we were given. We drew each of the components for the processes on paper and then color coordinated them to make sure you could tell which part of the cell was which. My part on the project consisted of taking the pictures in the stop motion app and doing the voiceovers for each of the clips. I also moved the pieces during the stop motion as the process was going on. One thing I did well was making sure that each part of each process was easily seen and made sense with everything else. One thing that I could have done differently was taking more time on the voiceovers to make sure that every part was explained in detail. The most meaningful part about this project was getting to see and create the process for mitosis and meiosis. It helped me better understand the cycles and it was nice to actually see the processes in motion and see how they each went through the given phases. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=aME_lq2j8_0&app=desktop

In our video, we showed and explained the stages of Miosis, Mitosis, and the cell cycle with playdough. I contributed to the group by helping set up the models of the cells for the stop motion portion. I communicated with my group well, I could also contribute more and be more focused. The most meaningful part of creating the stop motion video was collaborating with my partners.

for our video, we had use paper to show the cell cycle, meiosis, mitosis and how they work in the human body. I think I contributed equally with my group with making the stop motion providing info, and coming up with ideas to give us our final product. I did well on creativity because I think that it was fun and educational to do and even to watch. I wish we had a little more work time so our final product could be just a little better. video the most meaningful part was how we worked together and expressed ideas and put in the work without a fuss. plus like I said it was fun and educational to do. we had a plan and we executed the plan.

For this project my group and I created a video showing the step by step process of the cell cycle within mitosis and meiosis, We started off using paper during the mitosis but moving to meiosis we used the whiteboard to display the process. I was in charge of the drawing and the writing, I drew the whole process out and made sure to label and give more detail on the stages withing mitosis and meiosis. I think overall I did well at editing and fixing some of our mistakes even if I had to redraw some of the stages, something I think I could have done better on was being more aware of where we stopped off at and where we have to continue. Towards the end of the video, we found out we didn't have some of the meiosis stages so we rushed to complete that. The most meaningful part was actually seeing how each stage contributes to the final process of either Mitosis or Meiosis.

Meiosis and Mitosis Cell Division Project

Posted by Daniel Jones in Biochemistry 2 · Sasso-Chryst · C on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 12:01 am

Within this video, we approached a way to convey our understanding of the processes of mitosis and meiosis which are both systems of cell division vital for bodily functions and animal reproduction. This process was presented by coloured pipe cleaner and molding dough in order to use simple visuals for an easier understanding of a complex process. My contribution to the project was taking pictures for the meiosis part 1 and 2 and the setting up of the pipe cleaners and molding dough for the project. I think I did well in design-wise for the project and in taking photos for meiosis as they stay center and consistent as possible i could have helped with editing and voice over as I had no part in them and could have lightened the load for my partner. I loved learning about each process in-depth and understanding it way more because of that obtained knowledge from this project.

When we did the video we used popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners. I did the drawing of mitosis and did some of the stop motion and I think we showed the process and we should have a focus on the stop motion a little bit. Being about to work with my partners.

Quarter 2 Benchmark project

For this project, we worked on displaying Mitosis and Meiosis and we used pipe cleaners and string. I contributed to helping create the displays in the video like making each segment and also helping out a little bit with editing. I feel like what I would do differently next time I would use a different editing platform so that I could add captions at the bottom. I feel the most meaningful thing that helped me in the project was making each display. Making the display helped me really figure out more of each process since we actually made it.

Mitosis and Meiosis

Posted by Ellis Uhl in Biochemistry 2 · Sasso-Chryst · C on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 3:28 pm

For this project we recreated the mitosis and meiosis process using different colored and shaped play doh to represents the different individual steps. I contributed to the project by making all of the play doh structures and taking all of the pictures. I think that I was very productive with my class time but I could have been more open to working with my group members. I think the most meaningful thing was being able to create a visual representation since it helped me further understand mitosis and meiosis.

What was used to make this video was 4 Cups of play dough; Iphone 11 pro; Life- Lapse iPhone app iMovie 2. To contribute to the project I work on placing the playdoe in the right areas and create the cells. I think I could've sculpt the playdoe a little bit better but all in all I think it was good. The most meaningful part was watching the video my group made
