Food Insecurities.

Posted by Aamiyah Torres in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · C on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 9:39 am

I chose this topic because of the Food Insecurities. Food Insecurities is a real thing and it’s effecting people all over the world. I decided to talk about WHY we are having these problems WHAT we can do to get rid of them and HOW we are going to change that or how we CAN change that as a whole. What I did well was really put this together. Research the problems and put all of the pieces together on how we could make it better and what we should do to make it better. What I could have done differently was come about the information way more clearly and added way more to what I had. The most meaningful thing was knowing I could help people and knowing that we could make a change to this whole thing.

Air Pollution by Kema and Naz

We chose this topic because Air Pollution is one of the biggest killers, affecting more than 100 million worldwide. Especially here in Philadelphia, there are a lot of factories and wasteful items that contribute to air pollution. So we’ve decided to educate our peers about this topic.

Excessive heat - Gavin

I chose this topic because it was an issue I had to face at one point in my life because the heat at my mom was acting up so it was really hot in the house. I think I did a great job at acting however I should’ve tried to make it more of a PSA not a short film. the most meaningful part of this was the research because it gave me a deeper understanding of the issue itself.

Managing Your Waste PSA by Amadou Dia

Posted by Amadou Dia in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · C on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11:54 am

I choose this topic because I believe it is significant and under-discussed today. I believe I did a good job of producing the video, though I do believe I could have found more useful articles for my research and completed it more quickly. The fact that I learned more about waste management and my partnership with my partner while making this PSA was the most meaningful aspect for me.

Joseph Watson- Excessive heat

My topic is on excessive heat issues inside homes in the summer time . I really enjoyed being able to act out in this video and learning more about excessive heat in homes. My group was really good with coming up with great ideas as we went along and making quick decisions. One thing I feel like we could’ve done better is time management with this project.

Air Pollution

Posted by Jannatul Ferdous in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · C on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 9:56 am

We produced a film on how air pollution can harm you and what causes it. Additionally, we discussed how to reduce air pollution. Because of the negative consequences of air pollution and because we want our community and family members to be as safe as possible, we believe it is crucial for individuals in the community to understand what they can do to prevent it.

I believe we did a good job of planning the video, but the timing of when we recorded it prevented it from being as good. Despite this, I believe we did a good job of getting the job done. Although I believe we should have really planned out what we were going to do, I still believe we did a very good job overall.

The film, which I believe illustrates what people should know about air pollution, what it is, how to prevent it, and what causes it, is the PSA’s most meaningful component, in my opinion. because I believe it is crucial for everyone to understand that.

Water Pollution PSA

Posted by Naomi Green in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · C on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 9:42 am

Provide a summary of the contents of your video and a rationale for why YOU chose this topic, in paragraph form. - In this video, you will learn about water pollution, its causes, solutions, and how you can help. This video also shows people in the community who make a change to actively and positively affect water pollution. I chose this topic because, after the most recent chemical spill in Philadelphia, I felt it was important to inform people about the water they drink.

What did you do well and what could you have done differently? - Something I did well was editing the video and providing as much information as I could in the video. I think that I could have filmed more visuals because there are more images than I expected to be in the video.

What was the most meaningful part of the experience of creating the PSA? - The most meaningful part of the experience was doing the research and the impact that the shared information will later have on people.

Managing Your Waste PSA by Alana Baggett

Posted by Alana Baggett in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · C on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 9:33 am

This Video about Waste Management includes content about littering, dumping, and how trash affects the environment in Philadelphia. We zoom in on the amount of trash that is affecting and has been affecting the Philadelphia and Chester areas. Included in this PSA are videos about the issues it’s caused residents and how people have tried to fix the issue and what to look forward to reduce the issue. I chose this topic because I live in North Philadelphia. Usually, when people hear North Philly, they think of or see trash, which is sad. I see with my own eyes how trash is affecting our city.

I think there could have been more inclusion about what people do to hurt our environment, such as more insight into littering and dumping. I think our video includes multiple perspectives on the issue.

The most meaningful part of this project was seeing that there are actually people trying to do something about the issue. I feel like you don’t actually see what’s going on with topics in our community until you look further into it and I enjoyed seeing how many people are involved.

Excessive heat in houses

Posted by Treymir Foreman in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · C on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 11:06 pm

My topic focuses on excessive heat issues in houses during the summer. What causes the heat, and different ways of avoiding it. I enjoyed being able to use an example from a real experience that happened to me when I was younger because of the heat. My group was great with coming up with ideas on the spot without really creating a script, so recording wasn’t too difficult in that aspect. I just wish it didn’t take us as long as it did to find a location to film.
