  -  No not at all because they look all dead now and don’t have any color to them.

    -The parent generation

-The lack of watering plants daily

   - Both genetic make-up and environmental influences, for example, height, weight and skin colour.

    - Environmental influences

-Sometimes that stood out to me this quarter is just how much our environment is hurting from us treating it the way that we do and sometimes those same things help some things on this earth.

Fast Plants Reflection

For my F2 generation fast plants the seeds didn't grow but I predicted that they would have green stem and yellow leaves. Since we weren't able to produce F2 plants we observed other groups F2. Other groups F2 plants grew faster than our F1 generation plants. I'm not sure what factors hindered our F2 plants ability to thrive but for our F1 I think amount of water, light, and proximity to other plants could've hindered their ability to thrive.

Genetics give from their parents affects an organism's phenotype. They get half from one parent and from the other and some features can be expressed while others are not some might mix a create something that's a blend of both. The environment can affect an organism's phenotype by causing some part of their physical appearance to adapt to it's surroundings. Genetics is a greater indicator of what an organism's phenotype will be.

Q4 Sculpture- Ruby and Hanamaru

For this project, I decided to make a stage that lights up with two anime characters, Ruby and Hanamaru, standing in front of it. I choose to make this sculpture because I wanted to make something creative and that will catch the attention of others. The anime girls are from a show called Love live Sunshine, which represents me because they are all motivated to reach their dream and really care about their school. As well, the characters, Ruby and Hanamaru, remind me of myself. Furthermore, I really appreciate cute and colorful things, which was why I decided to make the stage light up with multi colored lights. To conclude, I feel like this project really represents my personality, interests, and motivation to put creativity into my projects.

Artist Statement

I made this sculpture to represent how I view my brain. I believe my brain is the worst and best element of myself. Therefore, to portray this I had colorful lights that are bright to the good part of my brain, which is my intelligence, creativity, and all good qualities of myself. The plain white bulbs in the elements are in series and are dim on purpose to represent the bad qualities of myself or the worst. These represent my mental illness, less kind side, and all the other horrible qualities that I do not like about myself. I wanted these qualities to be seen like a ying yang sign, the good in the bad and the bad in the good because in my brain you can't seem to have a good quality without a bad one to accompany it and vice versa. I wanted this sculpture to completely represent me and how I am a mixture of both and sometimes one may overpower the other. I wanted for to see a look inside my brain.

Alaina’s Artist Statement

This project reminds me of the things me and my family would never do. For example, the pebbles and moss in the jar remind me of camping. My family have never gone camping and most likely never will. My mom doesn't feel safe in the woods so we won’t go.

Isis’s Artist Statement

This project reminds me of being in the woods camping and having a pebbled path leading my family out on an adventure. It reminds me of the algae that grew on fallen trees. The light bulbs remind me of being in a cabin that my parents rented for at least a week. The project brings back some good memories.

The Best Flyers Hat

What we made was a hat that had lights wrapped around the sides of it. The wires are wrapped around the liner of the hat so they do not show. There is also a wire that connects both sides, and runs on the top of the hat.The lights poke through the hat. There are six lights. The battery is taped to the back of the hat. I really like the hat, and it can be functionally worn by anyone.

We put a parrel circuit of lights on a Philadelphia Flyers hat. The 6 lights are put on the inside of the hat and the battery is in the back. Now we made this for Flyers games so you can be the best philly fan in the world.

I chose to make the sign of Hamilton the musical because I really like this musical since it has motivated me to work hard throughout the school year. I found the story of Hamilton (Alexander Hamilton) very inspirational because he started from nothing and has worked very hard to become someone very important to U.S history. He is also on the 10 dollar bill. I started to listen to this about 2 years ago and I’ve been listening to this since then. The songs in this musical has many genres for every song which is one of the reasons I like listening to this. I watched this musical many times through online and every time I watched it I am never bored and always entertained. This musical was created by Lin-Manuel Miranda who is also a person who I look up to and helps me be motivated in school. This show plays in the Richard Rodgers theater on 226 West 46th St, New York City, NY.

The reason I chose this item was very significant. On one hand, I like how “magnetic” designer things are. Despite it just being a name and a brand, people seem to be attracted to it. On the other hand, I’m very interested in lasers and that shaped why I decided to make a “designer” brand that is laser cut out. I’d say this object shows that I’m very materialistic and “object-rich”. However, I think that once you find out my object has a different purpose, you would think I like the intangible things more.
