A tsunami is a large wave that is caused by an earthquake coming down on land (the geosphere). A tsunami is always caused by earthquakes, but not all earthquakes cause a tsunami. Due to it being water, the hydrosphere gets effected since it goes against currents and the life in the water will get interrupted. The atmosphere can also be affected by the tsunami. The energy is so great that it travels to the highest point of the atmosphere to a place called the ionosphere. This causes a disturbance in the ozone which protects Earth’s surface from harmful rays. When it comes to the biosphere, many people can lose their homes, cars, and their due to the distribution.
When a tsunami is coming, try and get to high ground or inland. Many coastal areas grow mangroves to try and protect the land the city from the waves that are to come. Also, if you are in an area where tsunami occurs, make sure you keep extra water extra food.
Tsunami to me is very scary, the amount of water the comes into the land is so destructive. The waves are not as high as our poster depicts, but there is still so much water that it will knock down anything its way.

Music is on, thoughts are off-Julie Baker

Posted by Julie Baker in ART 9 - Hertz - e2 on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 2:48 pm

Everyday I listen to music, it’s a habit that I love to do. When I am overwhelmed with work or stressed out about other things music is how I escaped, it’s my capture. I never do my work at home without it, it’s how I focus. In the room I created I have a records player and a wall old vinyl, since I like listening to old music. On the other hand, I have speakers which incorporated new music.

My best friend and I started to become the friends that we are because of music, we still always share different songs and artist for each other to listen too. That’s why I filled my room with music and musical things.

Electric Picture Frame by Julie and Gabby

Posted by Julie Baker in PHYSICS 1 - Gray - A on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 9:05 am

We created a picture frame for our electric art project. We created a picture frame because we never saw one that lights up and we thought it would be a unique thing to make. We both agreed to this idea and design since we both always look at old pictures of ourselves. It’s a way to look back at old memories that we had.

"Someone is Always Watching" Street Art

Posted by Julie Baker in ART 9 - Hertz - e2 on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:27 pm

The meaning of the work I created is to show people that you're never really alone even if you think you are. What you say and what you do always seems to comes back to other people. mainly the ones you didn’t want to tell.

What inspired my work were the adults in my life. Every since I was little, I was always told not to talk about people behind their back. First of all, it is rude and also that person will almost l always find out.

The reason why I put my artwork on the corner of the hallway is because I it’s somewhat out of sight if you don’t look hard, but it’s always there. You wouldn’t think if you're talking about something or someone and someone walks by and over hears. They will and up telling other people. You never know when you are alone.

This project change my perception of Art by showing me that there is almost a deeper meaning of everything you see. I always thought when I saw street art or a little drawing someone made it was just because they were bored, but no. Something that is silly and meaningless you you can mean the world to whoever created it.

Now, when I walk around the city my perception of Art will change forever. First of all, I might spot art work easier then I did before. Also, I will appreciate it more. I will try to think why the artist created his or her work and what their background story is like. Think about the process they took to put there art up to show to the public eye.
