The four earth systems, lithosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, and atmosphere affect one another in different ways. The subsystems interact with each other and the biosphere, they work together to influence the climate, and triggered geological processes and affect life all over Earth. However in fashion, the four spheres of the earth are connected between each other so, when one is affected, the consequences are also felt by the others. When clothes are being created in factories it creates the amount of carbon dioxide we put into the atmosphere b burning fossil fuels and through deforestation.

To have a sustainable future that well desire we have to work together and do better for the community and for the environment. With that being said, we have to recycle more, use less plastic materials, stop buying leather accessories or anything having to do with leather. We should make better choices than to throw things out on the street and we need to plant more trees to save the planet. I was shocked to see how much the fashion industry has affected the atmosphere but I also wasn’t that surprised at the local brands that have sustainable clothing for sale.

Sustainable Business: Transportation

Slides: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ZI2vn-lxub0DBd8A3i5946yqA3zPOCLK1Zel5lNoyqs/edit?usp=sharing How do the earth systems affect each other? The earth systems atmosphere, geosphere, biosphere, and hydrosphere affect each other because of how much they depend on each other. If anything were to negatively affect any of these systems it could be bad news. A good example of this is our current crisis, global warming due to the pollution produced by people our environment has been changing. What efforts can we make to create a sustainable future? I think we could recycle, find ways of making energy renewable, reduce pollution, and more. My reaction I was not surprised that transportation was a contributing factor to global warming because it made sense. Cars or any form of transportation produce a lot of gas thats very unhealthy for our environment.

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ZI2vn-lxub0DBd8A3i5946yqA3zPOCLK1Zel5lNoyqs/edit?usp=sharing There are plenty of ways the earth systems can affect each other, for our project one way that they affected each other is by natural resources being mined, Once those metals are mined they fabricate our cars and cars burn fossil fuels, and fossil fuels cause pollution, and pollution can ruin ecosystems. These efforts that we are taking with our project can help create sustainable future because it can bring those ecosystems back, minimize people carbon footprints little by little because I mean something is better than nothing or to continue to contribute to the mess, My reaction to this is just that I didn't think I would honestly get deep into thought about this stuff but I did and I was really surprised because this kind of stuff usually bores me and i found it a bit interesting.

Our Physical Component.

How do earth systems affect each other?

  • The earth systems are categorized by four spheres: the lithosphere, atmosphere, biosphere, and the hydrosphere. These spheres help make up life within the earth, they are so interwoven with each other that a slight change in one of them can cause a ripple effect through all of them. For example cows within the food industry are part of the biosphere but they affect the atmosphere because they produce methane which traps heat in the earth. Thus propelling global warming.

What efforts can we make to create a sustainable future?

  • There are many things that we can do to create a sustainable future. These can be in the form of; recycling, renewable energy (solar panels), using fewer meat products or switching to a plant-based diet, Getting products from local farms, Using more environmentally savvy modes of transportation (riding a bicycle), and many more! It is in our best interest to protect the earth because it is our home.

Reaction

  • I was very alarmed at the information we learned over the course of this project. The farming industry alone contributes largely to global warming, and pollution through greenhouse gases in the world. It is high time that we start paying attention to what’s actually in our food and start using more renewable sources of energy so that our planet can survive!

1. How do the earth systems affect each other? The atmosphere provides the geosphere with heat and energy needed for rock breakdown and erosion. The geosphere, in turn, reflects the sun's energy back into the atmosphere. The biosphere receives gases, heat, and sunlight (energy) from the atmosphere. 2. How can an understanding of environmental science aid in handling natural disasters? They can help us be ready for whatever natural disaster comes so we can be away from any harm. Like if an earthquake just started, we could predict if it will cause a hurricane. We can find out 3. What efforts can we make to create a sustainable future? We must keep the earth clean and keep the farms sustainable for animals to eat and grow. We can make sure houses are sealed with something heavy duty My reaction towards this is mesmerizing, I learned a lot from this.

MODEL FOR ENVI.
MODEL FOR ENVI.

Essential Questions How do earth systems affect each other? What efforts can we make to create a sustainable future?

How earth systems affect each other is by the transfer of energy between each system and how/if that energy is being given through each system sustainably. Efforts we can make to go for a sustainable future is to think about how we use energy. Questions to consider: is our source of energy(fuel) limited? Why can’t we be more focused on how we produce our food? My reaction to our food industry and it’s sustainable future is surprised. Farming should be focused on having a more green farming style. For example, installing solar panels for energy.

The Earth systems affect each other because in our industry, the geosphere is drilled into, and it affects the animals that live in the hydrosphere. In order to make a sustainable future, we must take into account what we are doing to the Earth. We have to set things in place so that every sphere on the Earth is able to maintain itself. https://prezi.com/view/Hq4sFA90Vi3js32uJVCs/

The earth systems affect each other because one change in one system could result in changes in all of the other systems. All of the systems work together to have an impact on life all over the earth. Having an understanding of environmental science can aid in handling natural disasters because now that we are more informed, we can find ways to reduce them or maybe even prevent them from happening. Some efforts we make to create a sustainable future are recycling, try saving energy, and relying less on cars and try walking or riding a bike.

Q1 Benchmark Final Submission

Earth systems have a complete yet simple way of working with others. When the Atmosphere releases heat into the geosphere the in which it brakes down rocks and other natural occurrences. The geosphere puts the sunlight back into the atmosphere. The biosphere takes in the gases, heat, and sunlight from the atmosphere. creating a stainable future isn't only important for us but our generations to come. One important way to be sustainable is by recycling. When we recycle our plastics and stuff like that get recused and help maintain wildlife. Another easy way to be sustainable is by reusing. When you throw old clothes out it gets put into a landfill. Landfills are very bad for the environment because they release greenhouse gasses into the air. When you donate your clothes give them to people who would make good use out of them it creates a better environment. The project on food stainability was very informative. My partner and I talked specify about the dairy industry and how the cows are being treated. I learned about how cows are being touched and we talked about how we could make the business sustainable to the environment and healthier. Our slides on how to make a sustainable dairy farm: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1HOuukRd6Xftxk-cENW1XGx6ZNxLYaAuPYNpRrGkg7eU/edit?usp=sharing

A Better Moo for You

Dairy, it is something a lot of us are dependent on. How do dairy farms work, and are they working sustainably? Those two questions were the main focus of our project, and what we found was very shocking. In our presentation, we will go over what we found. Overall, we learned how the dumping of cow manure into freshwater sources destroys the life systems in it. That would the hydrosphere! Which goes hand in hand with the biosphere, due to the living bacterias and fish that would be hurt by it. In our presentation we addressed our third essential question, by finding new, and better ways, to reuse cow manure, and not dumping it in terrible places, the business itself can become more sustainable. Cows do emit greenhouse gases that harm our climate, but when the manure of cows gets recycled, it is cut down and helping out our earth. Allison and I create a visual to show what our cows would look like on our farm. She laser cutted the board, and our beautiful cows. I created the vinyl details as you can see.
