K: if you could snap your fingers and make one thing better in the world what would it be? and why?
Iris: equality. too many people are sexist and biased and racist. everyone could just like let everyone live on with their life and i think the world would be much nicer.
K: tell me a story about your name?
Iris: “oh class is over.”
K: tell me a story about your name iris.
Iris: okay well when my mom had me i was like her 7th child, i’m not sure actually. but um so basically my mom named me after her cause her name is also iris. but she named after her cause she thought i was gonna be her last kid. but then you know she had like three more kids so my name was kinda pointless, because technically speaking my sister should have been named iris but that didn't work out.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why? I’ve traveled to a lot of dream places. I’ve had the chance to Africa, South America, to Europe, I really feel blessed I feel really thankful for where I’ve gone. I think next time I would like to go to Vietnam possibly .
If you could snap your fingers and make one thing better in the world, what would it be? Why?
I would definitely make sure to treat people with kindness. I wish there was a lot more kindness and less caddiness. That people really respect where people are coming from and a nature gentle state among people.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? 20 years?
In ten years, I mean hopefully, God willing, my husband and I will have children. Um yea, I want to know that I’ve worked as hard as I could to make a difference in my students lives and that I did everything, that’ve done most of the things I’ve wanted to accomplish and that I am still working to reach those goals.
How would you like to be remembered?
I always tell my husband, I just want to remembered, I don’t want to be forgotten. I have this fear of being forgotten. Umm, and I do remember my grandparents and my great grandparents through stories. I hope that you know our family can always tell stories and keep our great memories alive.

Humans Of SLA Beeber: Katelynn
Katelynn:
The first moment I knew I could trust someone was when I met my best friend Migdalia Ocasio. I knew I could trust her because she was different from my previous friends I had. Every single time I told her something she listened to me never interrupted me, she didn't make me feel like what I said was stupid she let me truly express how I feel.
Iris: What was a moment of emotional impact?
Katelynn:
I don't if I can say this, um, probably when someone told me they loved me. And it wasn't my mom! It was somebody special and, um yeah and I was just like whoa they meant that!
Iris: If you could change anything you would change anything what would it be?
Katelynn:
I would change some of the decisions I made when i was young, years ago. I would change the people I used to hang around with. You know what, actually they taught me something so actually I would thank them. I wish that I didn't trust them as much as I did, I wish that I stood up to more people in middle school.
