For the poem project we had to pick a spanish poet and research about their life. I chose to do Julia Alvarez. Julia Alvarez wrote children stories and poems more about women and love. After I researched her life I then had to write a short summary about my life. After that i had to pick a poem she wrote and it had to inspire me to write one based off her theme. My poem was about love and a young couple.

Gary Soto
Gary Soto nació en Fresno, California, el 12 de abril de 1952. Soto es un americano. Por desgracio murió el padre de Soto en 1957, pero que sólo le inspiró más a trabajar mejor rendimiento académico. Cuando Soto era tan concentrada en la escuela y sus estudios en la escuela secundaria pensó que tenía interés en la poesía. A lo largo de su vida, Soto era conocido para la poesía, novelas, memorias y literatura infantil. Sus poemas han sido en muchas revistas literarias, entre ellas arados, Michigan Quarterly, la Poesía Internacional, y la Poesía. Han sido lo honró con el Premio Bess edificio Hokin Hall y el Premio Levinson y también se contó con él en la serie de entrevistas Poetas en persona. Ha recibido becas de la Fundación Nacional para las Artes y la Fundación Guggenheim. Gary Soto logrado tanto de la escritura y la poesía y que ha sido y sigue siendo inspira tantos.
Yo soy, Kiyannah McGee. Soy un estudiante de Science Leadership Academy. Desde la escuela de elemental he sido un honor alumno pero me tropiezo un poco en la escuela secundaria. He bailado alrededor de 2 años. Además, recientemente comenzó aplaudiendo una vez más por lo que este va a ser mi segundo año. Tengo un interés en muchas cosas diferentes, y siempre me alegra a probar nuevas ideas. Desgraciadamente, mi tía murió en 2013, pero que sólo me ha hecho trabajar más. Cuando crezca quiero ser un abogado o un psicólogo. Estoy interesado en los campos debido a que ambos son una manera en la que puedo ayudar a nuestros ESTADOS UNIDOS los ciudadanos. Mi aspiración en la vida es hacer la diferencia y ser parte de la nueva generación, y juntos tenemos que hacer del mundo un lugar mejor.

Mis pensamientos?
Yo leí el poema una vez y otra vez. Entendí muchas cosas de el poema. Al principio, describió lo que él ve. Pensé en el principio fue un bebé porque dicen que los bebés pueden ver ángeles y Jesús vela sobre ellos. A continuación, él era un niño y estaba recibiendo mayores que habla acerca de los juguetes y cosas que le gustaba jugar con ellas. Por último, nos explicó cómo él era viejo y gris y esencialmente que no era nada para vivir. Creo que en general todo el poema es acerca de su vida. No sólo la vida, sino el ciclo de vida para él. Un bebé que el hombre está ahora. Eso es lo que tengo de este poema.
Círculo de vida
Algo me está viendo
, pero no me da miedo
no es el diablo, así que nadie me temo
que comienzan a hacer muchas cosas
como que ni siquiera estaba a la vista
pero he podido decir , con todas mis fuerzas
Yo era tan joven
Los juguetes eran divertidos

Skull Mask
For my candy skull mask I decided to create a mask for my cousin , that I was very close with who had DSRCT cancer. I pick gold for childhood cancer awareness and blue represents his favorite color. For this specific project we had to pick a loved one who had departured and use their personality and how they were by decorating this skull.

Dia de los muertos
The person who passed away was my great grandmother and she was my guardian for many of my young childhood years. She was like the person that taught me certain values and she showed me what its like to have an elderly mom almost. She recently passed away and I decided to honor her by making the skull represent her. The orange is a special color in buddhism and that is why the monks wear it. The orange is considered a sacred color, its auspicious and it is holy. The blue symbolises wisdom , my great grandmother was very wise and I put the blue over her jaw because she always told me wise things. I put purple over her eyes because she was peaceful and independent. Purple symbolizes those things and I put them over the skull eyes because when we usually saw her, she was independent and she was always at peace. I put a black ball on her head because in asian culture, its a symbol of heaven. It has showed me that I can do certain things to honor her while she has passed, I've never thought of someone passing and making art to show respect.

Yo estoy aquí en la tierra y estoy orgulloso decir que mi bisabuela tuvo una vida buena. This project was basically to create a travel agency that is for one country. The country that my group chose was Panama.

For this project we had to find a poet and give a little summary of the person and also yourself. The project was in complete Spanish. After completing the two biographies you had to list your favorite poem by them and then you would have to make up your own version of that poem.

This was my Spanish 2 poem, I did my poem on José Martí . My personal poem was about a tree, and the life beginning of the tree. I enjoyed doing this because it was different from what I did before.

This project was called "Eulogy(Skull/Mask) which was about people who died. The person who died was my close friend Ahmed White when he committed suicide.
This was my poem project which required us to look up a famous Spanish poet, make a biography , find a poem by them, and even make your own biography and poem too. Above is the poem I made myself.. The person I did was Jose Marti.
