I've tried something simple to see how it feel working with soft pastels. There are some pros and cons working with soft pastels. The pros are, you don't really have to use to much force to have a bolder color. The other pro is soft pastel have vibrant colors. There are cons, for example it's very messy because it's like chalk it get on your clothes easily. Another con is it spread are don't really stay on the canvas. So to solve those problem applying a spray to prevent from going everywhere.

My experience with this material was easy. I thought fauvism would be hard trying to draw a self portrait or of something else. I actually think fauvism is cool because of all the bright colors that make the painting pop out. My sketch was suppose to come out like a bear I didn't put to many colors behind it but it was still easy.

A gag style manga is a type of manga that is more comical than most. Therefore, it is often drawn in a more of a flow and emphasis on a character's details. I want to learn about this type of manga, because I think it would best suit me and I have never looked into this type of manga before. I hope to make a 12 page gag manga that leaves the reader wanting more of it to read.

My experience with my material was very easy. I mixed alot of colors to make it more colorful. I  used a lot of triangular shapes.  I used a ruler to make my lines straighter. I believe my final project will be very easy

This is the arduino. With it I will create an all powerful button that does...something. Currently I am assembling the parts I need to create it. Hopefully it will be something cool.

I notice how quickly the crayon dries back after you turn off the blow dryer. I really do like the method and this process. I realize that you have to turn the gun on an angle to really get the crayons dripping. I probably will also place my canvas on an angle for better position. I believe that I will hold the board long ways to get a better flowing picture.

Cut-Out Fashion

Posted by Cierrah Brown in ART ADV - Hertz - b2 on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 1:39 pm

This is a rough sketch of my project. My experience with this is knowing the basics and learning as I go to complete this. I know my materials that I need to do and the videos I need. While I was doing this , I realized that I have to make my cut-outs the same sizes. , if not it would not be a good outcome. But , from prior experience I know you have to sketch and measure things out in order for it to match up. Another thing is to always put things in place before you glue because if you make a mistake there isn't no going back.

This was a first time and enjoyable experience. During this class, it was only one blowdryer and someone was already using it. Therefore, I melted the crayons with a lighter. When I was melting it, the wax starting melting very quickly, and it hardened very quickly. While I was melting my crayons, I saw the girl who was melting hers with a blowdryer. I will use this advantage to my best because I for sure know that this is fast, but if I spill it somewhere else, I need to clean it up ASAP The blow dryer method took very long. However, this was still a wonderful experience overall.

For the art piece, I experimented with the medium marker. I've experienced many times before with the medium marker. I tried different shading with this medium and outlining. This practice with this medium helped me decide what techniques I want to use in my art project. Marker is my favorite medium out of all the mediums. Marker is so simple to use, but has so many possibilities.

This is just a sketch I did in my sketchbook. I just used stippling and some blending, also the image is rotated for some reason.
