Environmental Mini PSA: Water Pollution

Posted by Maxim Lyons in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · 1b on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 12:16 am

I chose this topic of water pollution because, in my opinion, it is one of the most important environmental issues. Everybody needs water to survive. My video includes information and the causes and effects of water pollution. It also includes some solutions and how to address this issue. I did research on this issue and obviously, I could've researched more issues on how to solve this problem. Participating in this project for me is very important. I wanted to contribute to finding solutions for environmental issues. https://www.wevideo.com/hub#editor/2211701707/publish

Water Pollution Mini PSA

I chose to make my mini PSA about water pollution, as it is something I wanted to research more about. This video goes over the issues of water pollution. Such as... who it affects, how it affects them, how it is connected to social justice, and how we can make changes in our day-to-day life to decrease the effects of pollution. There are many things we do not even notice that effect our water. These things were very interesting to me! I feel by researching, I can help make more of a difference myself. I think what I did well was gathering and organizing the information. I went through a lot of sources and it was difficult to summarize it all in a video that's less than 2 minutes, but I was able to accomplish it. If I were to do this again, I'd likely try to manage my time a little better. The most meaningful part of all this was, as said before, getting to learn how I can make a difference myself.

Air Pollution PSA

I did a PSA on air pollution. This is affecting everyone in the world including Philadelphia. I chose air pollution to do a PSA on because I figured that would be a good topic to give information on because unlike some of the topics, everyone needs the air and oxygen. I didn’t focus directly on Philadelphia because anything I said can also be said for other parts of the world. I learned how many people are actually affected by air pollution when I thought of just major cities that were affected.

Environmental science psa

Hi, guys for my part I decided to do my PSA on water pollution. I choose it because water plays a big role in our lives and not us but also for plants and animals and without it we wouldn't be anything. I talk about how it can affect us and some way we can prevent it from getting worse and I feel like the making of the video was the most thing was what went out the best, it was kind of fun and entertaining. If I were to do this differently, I would probably make the video longer because I could've incorporated more information in, but I didn't want it to be too long. https://app.animaker.com/animo/p81pf8fcxr2MxRDU/

Environmental Science PSA

This PSA is about water pollution talking about the causes of water pollution and ways to help decrease water pollution. I chose this topic because to me water is very important for everything. Water is embedded in our life through our food and drinks. I wanted to show how in some areas of the world, water pollution is a serious issue. I also wanted to show ways that people could help lower water pollution with little things that they may not have thought of before. I think I did the visual portion of the video, okay, If I had to do something differently, I would have made the timing for certain sections of the video differently. I think a meaningful part of the experience of creating the PSA was doing the research because it made me realize how big of an issue it is all over the world.

Mariatu fayia-Food justice

Posted by Mariatu Fayia in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · 1b on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 12:22 am

Hello everyone, my name is Mariatu. In today’s topic I will be discussing about food justice. Food justice is more than having food in your fridge, it’s about having enough healthy food to eat within your household for everyone to eat. Food justice hits the African America communities more negatively than it does any other communities. Stats from the feeding America website show that 1 in 4 or 21.6% of African American may not have healthy food to eat tonight! In my video I provide a solution that many people tend to follow, in hopes that one day things become better.

My chosen topic was Lead Poisoning, I chose this topic because I work in a lot of previous abandoned properties so I see a lot of lead paint. I know the effects it has on the human bodies but I don't think people pay attention to how much it impacts kids, so I decided to do some more research to educate people about it

Enviromentally care for the air

Posted by Darrin Donahue in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · 1b on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10:21 pm

The contents of my video include a PSA about the condition of the air in our environment, who to blame, and how we can start to battle the beast of air pollution. What I did well was discuss the points and concerns about where and what air pollution was doing to the environment. What I think I could have done differently is probably come up with something better than the generic team up trope, it’s seen time and time again that sometimes humans just see convenience and take it and I've noticed that the same neglect to look for a strong answer is the neglect that happens to the air. The most meaningful part of this PSA was the research because the best part about doing a topic like this is that your making yourself aware witch automatically helps the issue.

Environmental Mini PSA

In this video, I bring up the topic of food injustice. First, I mentioned what it is and what group of people it's impacting. Afterwards, I brought up some statistic regarding the economy, and connected it to people going hungry. Then to close the video, I proposed some solutions to problem, ones that we as a community could do such as adding more green spaces, and ones that we need to push our politicians to do. I chose this topic because I felt that it resonated the most with me. I don't really have a strong connection or desire to get involved in today's environmental issues, but I do understand the desire to eat healthy foods and improve your lifestyle, and how hard it can be to do so when everywhere you look your surrounded by unhealthy junk foods. Regarding the final product, there a lot of things I could have done better. For one, I could have actually edited the video, and added some appealing visuals. I could have done it earlier in the day when it was brighter. I could have made script, so I would be able to do it in less takes. I could go on and on about everything I could have done differently. But at the end of the day, to be honest, given a second, third, or even fourth chance I would do it the same way all over again. Unless we're talking about doing it sometime in the future or earlier in the year. If not, the result would be the same. At this point, I'm tired, and I don't feel like trying super hard with the end of the year so close. But still this video did hold some meaning to me. I'm glad that I was able to express myself regarding the topic, and get the work done even when I didn't feel like it.

Water Pollution-Environmental Justice Mini PSA

In Pennsylvania, testing commissioned by the military and conducted by the EPA in 2014 reported extensive PFAS pollution near the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove and the Naval Air Warfare Center in Warminster, which closed in 1997 after being designated as a Superfund site. I choose this topic to talk about because water pollution it's a resource that the human population has since forever but with the amount of pollution that has been going, we might not have anymore if we don't start acting and pretending more harm to the human population. I could have done better research and give more details as to why we should not being using chemicals that won't go away. The most meaningful about creating a PSA is to put your all on it and to showcase your hard work.
