Independence National Historical Park

How much does your country mean to you? Do you know everything that you should about your country history? Is there person from a different country that know more about your own country than you do? All the these types question should run through people mind pretty often.I personally am a very patriot person because I love my country. This folder that I will be using for my project symbolism the pride and passion I take in the country and its history.

One detail to support my statement relates the the folder itself .Back when I was still attending my old school,William Dick, I was invited to participate in a program called Spark. The purpose of this program selected consisted of seventh and eighth graders being allowed to go to to the workplaces and find out what exactly it is that they do. The year was 2014 and this was my second time doing this program. The thing that stood the second time for me was that was I got the chance to express my love and passion for my American at the Independence National Historical Park. I was very fascinated by the amazing buildings and the rich history the guys who worked at the park told me about. This inspired me to write an essay describing the park and why people should visit it. At the end of the program, I keep two folder to remind of the great experience that I had at the park.

Another detail to support my statement come from how often I should my respect to my country and those who serve it. As I have already establish, I take a lot of pride in my country. For example, I was usually the first person to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance back at my old school. When holidays like Veteran's Day and Independence Day come along, I make sure I take the time to truly appreciate why we have these day off. These types of holidays were never about eating hot dogs and hamburger or the fact that we have the day off to me. In my opinion, I feel that everyone should love and respect the country they live regardless what the country is.

In conclusion, even though most of example of why love my country so much is from times at my previous school, I still have that same passion today. The folders that I receive from the park me a lot to me because it all stems back to America. That experience I had at the park combine with my love and passion for American is something I hope to used in the future to teach those wish the learn about I feel about the country I live in.

Cyrus and Siradji phone case

We chose to use a phone case because we had to find something in common to work on. We both have phones and cases on our phones so we decided to use the lights on the case. We wanted it to look cool so we used a lot of lights and colors. Everyone like phone cases but they are usually plain and boring. We thought lights would make it look less boring. A phone case is important to us because phones are important to our life. We would always be bored without phones. Without a case your phone can break and we won't be able to use it.

Jordon and I paired up and we obviously are very different. We decided to do this so that we can make something similar yet different. This is what we came up with. Jordon loves soccer and i love poetry so we both combined this. This project has lines from my favorite poem and we decided to choose a ball that was bright even without the lights that represented Jordons eccentric personality and how much soccer is such an important part in his life. Poetry is very important to me aswell. These things are something we do on a daily bases and is not needed in life but wed be different without it.

Watermelon

Posted by Vernika Barrow in PHYSICS 1 - Gray - A on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 7:57 am

I chose to do my sculpture based on inspiration. I was inspired by my favorite drink, Watermelon Arizona. What I made was a box with a watermelon slice cut out of it. I decorated it the colors of the drink which consist of red and green. I also used glitter, tissue paper and beads to make it pretty. I incorporated my circuits by poking holes in the watermelon slice and put blue lights in them represent watermelon seeds. What my sculpture says about me is that Watermelon Arizona  is the best soft drink ever.

Project includes:

-1 sculpture of decorated box

- 11 Mini LED christmas lights

- Extra copper wire to connect lights

- 1  9 volt battery

In Physics we had to create an electric art project that showed our personality and represented something about you. The reason i chose to make this sculpture was because i am a very avid reader. I could read for hours and hours on end.  Since this is true i decided to use a book to be the primary factor of my sculpture. This sculpture says about me my love for reading and being intelligent and articulate.

The reason why I had  a mirror light up is because I always love to look into the mirror. Every time I look into a mirror, it allows me a time to reflect on myself and the decisions I make for myself. This sculpture says about me that I always like to reflect on my actions and a mirror is my best ways of viewing those types of decisions that I think about during the day.

Now I used very little items for my sculpture so there isn’t a lot of elements, but there were a small circular mirror that can stand on it’s own, so it wouldn’t have to be held up, 16 christmas lights and different colors to some some christmas spirit, and a 9V battery to light the bulbs that there’s on the sculpture.

Expression through words and "Ruby"

My sculpture is a bit of a confusing are piece I used a girly glasses case (to express my girly side) with lights coming out as crazy looking teeth. The crazy looking “teeth" are placed to show how effective and crazy my words can be. I like to think that my words sometimes have a major impact on whatever situation I decide to act upon with them. The whole meaning of the glasses case is my better half and alter ego also known as “Ruby”. When I am usually upset, to stop myself from overreacting, I put on my glasses and I am known as Ruby, the quiet, nonchalant girl who is not affected by one’s words but is not afraid to use her own.

Read Between The Lights!

Posted by Mercedez Smith in PHYSICS 1 - Gray - A on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 7:47 am

Artist Statement

The piece that I am using for my project is a meaningful and artistic. I realize the design for the piece and including the circuits is a little complicated, but it all fit my criteria for what I felt needed to be submitted. I am hoping my project is a success in the end, and that I will get a very respective and kind grade for my efforts.

My artistic and meaningful piece is a hand-made wall flower/wall wreath. It is made up of rolled up book pages to express the love for books and reading. I connected all pieces with hot glue, attached from bottom layer to top, by length. The bottom layer is of longer rolls, and going up and to the center, they got shorter and thinner.

I chose this design because books are meaningful to me. I love reading, and one creative way to incorporate my passion for reading into our Electric Art Project, is to make a piece of art out of what I love. What I mean expresses not only the love for books, but a passion for creativity incorporated into the learning environment.

Our Game Controller

Posted by Aedan Will in PHYSICS 1 - Gray - A on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 7:47 am

Abdul’s reason.

I chose to do a game controller and light up the buttons because games actually bring allot of fun to my life. I love playing games in my free time and enjoy playing it with my friends and family. The game controller is like a pathway to the game and it has tons of different combinations that allows you to do tons of cool stuff ingame.Games have been apart of my life since forever.Playing games even reminds me of the good times I had with family members that I haven’t seen in forever.Playing sports and video games affected my personality in which it made me more competitive..I chose to light up the controller sort as a tribute and I thought it would be really cool.

Aedans reason.

I choose to make a video game controller light up for the project because playing video games bring me much joy and happiness. When I do nt have school or when I’am done with my homework I will always be playing video games, either on my xbox 360, wii, 3ds, tablet, or computer. Without video games for more than 5 hours I get bored out of my mind. Also I thought it would look cool with the buttons lit up on the controler.

Why we chose to work together and our similar reasons for doing this.

We choose to work together because of our interest in video games, we both sit at the same table, and we are friends.

Aliya and Chloe

12-11-14

For the Physics art project we chose to do a painting of a flower. we chose this because it shows both of our artistic characters. Our love for art basically defines us, and we would not be able to go through life without it. We each like to paint and we both like color and nature.
