The Internet And You

What you post on the internet can affect how people view you. Whether you are viewed in a negative or positive lights, is entirely up to what you post.

If you work you get money. If you post something inappropriate online and your employer sees this, you will get fired. No job means no money. If you have a significant other, then you are happy. If your girlfriend or boyfriend sees you post something inappropriate on social media, then they wont want to be with you. Removing the happiness from your life.

Ned takes a photograph of him consuming alcohol in his place of work. He decides to post this to Instagram as a joke. Ned's employer sees this and fires Ned. No one wants to hire Ned so he can't make money. His wife leaves him because he has no money. Now Ned is a disappointment.

Think about what you post. What would your mother say if she saw this post? What would your Employer say? Don't be like Ned.

On the first slide that I created it was talking about the things that I found on the internet that can affect me. The second slide is how people have different opinions about things and it can cause a fight. The last one means to keep things private that should be private.

Slide 2:The 2nd slide is about decisions you make and the possible outcome. The butterfly symbolizes the butterfly effect which is the positive and negative effects of your choices.

Slide 3: Is the way people see things and how they see things differently. The picture are the reactions people might have after seeing thee things because remember everybody had different opinions.

Slide 4:The fourth slide is showing how you have to approach things with caution you kind of have to be paranoid or do things with caution.Because at any point you can be targeted and if you feel like you are then you might want to be careful.

My number one rule is never add, accept, or trust anyone you don't know.Unless you ask a friend if they're related to this person or if they know them and seen them physically.

What you do online can effect your future in a negative way if used wrong. What you post on online can effect others lives in a positive or negative way. My number one rule while you are online is to be yourself!

You should be smart about what you post online because it may affect people first impression of you.

Cyber-bullying can lead to those can lead to suicide, don't hurt others feelings.

Always think before you post.

Being A Conscious User of the Internet

Posted by Shaylyn Westmoreland in TECH 1 - Hertz - a1 on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 10:25 am

1) Anything you post permanently stays on the internet. Even that offensive meme you posted ten years ago will never go away. Ten years from now, someone can see things you post and judge you based on that one post from a long time ago.

2) Remember that Obama Campaign poster. Even though he recreated the picture of Obama, the original photo was used and he disobeyed copyright laws. Make sure that whatever you post or re-post, re-tweet and recreate should be following copyright laws.

3) Know that whatever you post online, there can be consequences. Whether good or bad, someone can be affected by what you post. Make sure before you post think, is this post going to have a negative or positive affect on someone and would my parents approve of what I post? Questions like these help me be aware of what I post.

The Internet and Us

1)  My online choices affect me in many ways. The things I put on the internet reflect who I am, and those choices give people a certain perspective of me. Whether it's Instagram, Google, or a school website I should always be careful of what I post.

2)  The choices I make online can also affect other people. Depending on what I post my actions can either hurt or enlighten them. For example, if I were to post a mean comment about someone on the internet it could be very hurtful to them, but be very funny to other people.

3)   My #1 tip for people posting online is to be careful, you never know how what you say can affect others or even yourself, it's better to be safe than to be sorry.

When online, make sure you watch what you write because your decisions of what you post can affect others. For example cyber bullying is a serious issue that is still active and mainly because of negative harassment from one user to the other on the internet.

The internet can really hurt your future if you don't watch what you post/write. Everything on the internet stays on the internet even if you delete it. Colleges/jobs look at what you post and they're not going to wan't to accept someone who is smoking/partying etc. every night so make sure you keep yourself together online and be mature.

My number one rule while being online is to be yourself. Its the best way to be and its better that way. No one likes a person who's totally different online, than in person.

  • I described myself as responsible when I am online because I know my boundaries.
  • I motivate people when I post something online because I want to be able to touch people's heart.
  • My number one rule I gave myself was to be respectful when I am online because I want people to view me as a nice person.
