Public health and Blindness PSA
We choose the topic of Blindness. Our group member Sanai’s dad is mostly blind, and she knew of his optometrist. We thought that it would be a topic that could help benefit those who are blind and those becoming blind. It’s an informational P.S. A that can he reach people and their families if they have such vision impairments. We talk about organizations and provide examples. While also talking to a professional, on the health issue.
For this project and how I have involved myself was crucial as being a team leader. I was there to do my part, but also ask my group members to do certain things that I couldn’t. We all communicated well on the tasks that needed to be done. I am very outspoken so, I talked through everything with my group mates before setting anything in stone. It was a good environment and the way that the project came out of the efforts of everyone, didn’t turn out bad. I do feel like when it came to the video that we could have practiced more, but other than that I felt like our information was good. When thinking about it, I would like to add more edits to the video and make it more visually appealing to the public. Even with me wanting to change things, the best part about this P.S. A was doing it with my friends. We had a lot of laughs behind the scenes, and it was a good way to end the last benchmark of the year in this class.

Fast Plants Journey !!!
During this Last semester in Biochem 2. We have been observing fast plants (F1) and their fast plant offspring (F2). At the beginning of this semester, we grew 5 types of fast plants provided by Ms.Aziz.My group chooses to have : (ST)Standard Purple Stem Hairy, (NP)Non-Purple Stem, (YG)Yellow-Green Leaf, and (NG)Non-Purple stem yellow-green leaf with our surprise plant Type “B” that’s purple and green. These plants took about 3 weeks to grow before they were ready to be pollinated. Once they were all pollinated with the “B’ seed, they sprouted about 2 and a half months after. The F2 plants were not successful, because we didn’t look after them as much. Only 2 of the 4 plots had seedling germination, but it didn’t last more than two weeks before it shriveled up and died. Though before they died we saw that the sprout was a purple steam, which came from the B F1 plant.
In this mini project, we found that the F1 plants grew a lot faster than the F2 plants and that they were all able to reproduce a small amount. Some of the factors that could have hindered our F2 plant growth might be water consumption. One reason for this could have been because every time we check the plant it would be dry so we would add extra water. In the parent plant, each plot was moist and rarely dry, but in the F2 plants, the plots were almost always dry. Another factor that could have affected how they grow could have been the amount of light they received. The F1 plants were under the constant light while the F2 plants had a timer that only gave them about 6-7 hours of light each day.
Something that stood out to me in this mini-project was my ability to nature and care for the F1 plants. This is because the F1 plants were able to survive long enough to reproduce and make the second generation. Even with the F1 plants turning out good in every way, I realized that this is always not the case. With the F2 plants, you see that it was not the same and that it was only half the success. As you continue to plant seeds from each generation the outcome will be different/varied.
Artist statement
When looking at my work, you see a small beautiful red pumpkin that meets the eye. This is no regular pumpkin it has white dots that branch across the small pumpkin, with a bright green leaf at the stem. This specific piece shows my hard work and the beauty of it. How something ordinary can change and become more beautiful. To make this wonderful piece I used clay, sculpting tools, and acrylic paint. I used the clay to create the pumpkin shape, by rolling some into a ball. After the ball, I made the stem and leaf, but to get the detail that I wanted I had to use the sculpting tools. They helped create the lines that I needed to separate the clay and create humps. Lastly, with the paint, I used red, white, and green. When creating my work I rolled the clay into a ball. Then I put clay around a wire so that I can hold the shape of it leaning. I let it dry so that it can stay together, then decided to add a leaf. Finally, I began to paint, I started with white as the base coat then added the red so it can be more vibrant. I then added the white dots all around the pumpkin and finally painted the leaf green with some white to make it pop.
To create this artwork I was inspired by an artist that I studied in my previous project. I studied Yayoi Kusama a Japanese artist that loves dots. When looking at her work I gravitated towards the pumpkins more and decided to re-create and add my own twist to her original design. When doing this project I had a lot of trial and error but,I realized that you need patience, also a good structure. With having a good foundation for your work it will help everything go more smoothly. As I continued to work on this piece I learned a new technique that helps me the rest of the way. It was having the newspaper to help create texture and take away excess clay. As t neared the end I grew proud of my unplanned leaf and how it pulled the pumpkin together. For this project, I don’t think that I would want to change anything. I liked the way that my idea came together in the end. I learned that I liked adding my style to a previously own idea by a famous artist. With me adding my style to the original and seeing the difference showed me what I can achieve.
Ecology; Human Growth Population
In this final unit, I have learned so much. with all the information that I obtained helped me create this final project. For Example the ” Ecosystem Response to Change packet” this helped with our final benchmark, which was a PSA video. this was on the human growth population when searching I found statistics that were shocking.

End World Hunger !!
This was for my English3 class we had to make a fact sheet about a non-profit organization that helps with de jure segregation. My group and I decided to talk about world hunger in Philadelphia and around the world. Everyone wants the world to change and the change starts now with equal distribution of food. L.T.F is a non-profit organization, who strives to help the less fortunate around the world. We believe everyone should have the proper amounts of food and that NO ONE should starve.
Comparative anatomy benchmark
Our website : https://biochemq3.weebly.com/
For this benchmark, we compared animals and how their nervous systems are different and similar. We studied animals, the worm, frog, horse, and human. We used a horse as our prime reason for studying because they are very much like humans and have almost the same nervous systems with little differences. In my project, you will see these similarities and difference.
What I learned through this benchmark is that most animals have similar structures inside the body and we are not very different in certain aspects. Not every animal has nervous system and structures, but the majority does and I have seen that. I also learned that they have certain structures that are in every animal and these structures help keep them alive.
Limited Palette Painting
For this quarters project, I choose to do a limited pallet painting. The limited palette painting is when you only use 5 or fewer colors of your choosing. For my limited palette, I chose the colors: green, red, flesh-toned, brown, and black. My drawing is of a girl with her eyes with her closed and hand on her chin. I mixed the flesh-tone and brown together, to make a light brown skin tone. Her head is tilted to the side with light and dark brown dyed hair flowing down to her neck. With her eyes closed, I made her lashes long and full, while her nose is small and long. Her lips are full, with pink lipstick. She also has a tribal pattern above her eyebrows. The piece that I made shows self-reflection, and peace. It is a reminder of how you think about yourself and knowing your worth when your eyes are closed to the world.
The materials that I used for this painting was 5 different watercolors. To create the strokes on the painting I used small brushes. The surface I painted was watercolor paper. The small brushes are used to create detail and I used them for the whole painting. The watercolor was used with more water than the actual paint in some cases or vice versa to create the colors of the painting. This piece of artwork connects to my previous work based on having a meaning connected to me or my family. For the first step, I looked up simple sketches of a girl. After that I got my desired paper to do the artwork on which was watercolor paper. Then I sketched out where I wanted everything to go on the watercolor paper( I was taking a while on that) In short I began to paint in the last few class periods we had. Finally, I went over some final detail in pencil so it can stand out more.
There are also some very famous artists that have done similar work like me that have deep means in their work. Some of these people are Amedeo Modigliani and Pablo Picasso. An important technique that's involved in my artwork is the brush stroke. When painting you tend to use a light hand strokes/ movement of the had to create texture. For me, I used a light hand as well as a heavy hand to make some parts stand out more. When doing the painting I also learned about the usage of the water to the color ratio for different opaqueness of color. When I was creating this piece of artwork, became fond/ proud of my choice in color, and how it turned out to be more realistic than I thought. I also like the way her head is tilt, her long eyelashes, also the different colors of brown in her hair. Aside from what I think is good, I would like to change the way of her hands. I want to change them so that they can be more realistic. I also want to shade in some more parts in to make some contrast. I learned that there are many ways to create paintings with different forms of makeshift texture from the stroke of a brush and, using limited colors to create an array of things.

The internet and You
Social Media Survival Guide
When i’m online i’m just my self . I don’t really go on social media any more. I think, that I appear as a chill person that sometimes post random things. I am also a nice person and I think that people perceive me as chill person that doesn't post much quiet, nice, loves fashion. The pros and cons of sharing online is that your post can have a bad effect on you and your reputation and what people will think of you and a good thing is that you can express yourself on there. Lack of control can impact online lives because you can start being a different person online than you are in real life and is some one was to say that they know you it wouldn't be true. Posting whatever you want having a censor ,permanent , immediately. Free speech is expressing they way you feel about a certain topic ,something that's protected is your opinion. I don’t think anything is really protected because some things you say are not protected by the law. It's not be cause they passed the law to have the freedom to say whatever they want. A internet troll is a person that starts drama just to get a reaction, that they intentionally wanting to hurt someone through the internet, it think that some of them are attention seekers and to get reactions from people to get them to get mad and argue back. I think you can stop trolling by having a law for any type of social media for internet trolls and that it can’t be allowed. A pros is that you can post what you feel and nobody will know who you are and judge you , but they can still judge put they just don't know who that person is, Three tips that can help you online,
1.Think before you post
2. don’t be a bully
3.be in a good mood because if you post something online while your angry or anything like that then you will regret it later.
