I, Rilajah chose to make this sculpture because we both have interest in modeling. In modeling you have to use makeup to fit the purpose of the outfit or costumes. This sculpture mostly says that we used something we have similar and made a project. Also we thought this would be a good object to use.
I, Taneeja chose this makeup box because I am a model and makeup is apart of modeling. Me and Rilajah didn’t know what to do but we had this in common. This was easy and meant something to the both of us. This sculpture means a lot because I plan to be successful in modeling and becoming something one day so this shows my passion.I did perfume for my electric project. I did perfume because perfume can not only add memorable scents but also light up your world. For this project I used one of my favorite perfumes in travel size and added a circuit to it.
For my electric art sculpture I made a light up basketball rim. Basketball is a big part of my life. I’ve been playing basketball for the past 10 years. So when I saw that this project was about lighting up something important in your life this immediately came to my mind.
"Stories to Paint the Empty Canvas"
I recently have been involved in a African American Storytelling. They have told constantly that I need to work more on trying to be free and have fun. Yet for the first weeks I could not do it at all because I always want it to be perfect. For example they told me to try and create a story that would interesting. Everybody’s story talked about unicorns and fantasy animals and mine was about a dog that couldn’t find it’s tail. Until they finally said something that kind of clicked with my creative and fun side of me. “You should think storytelling as a empty canvas and you are trying to paint a picture of what you are telling.” Now I think that I have improved in making and telling storytelling.
In my drawing I tried to create a clear difference between the two sides of the room. I tried to create a creative side that looked fun to symbolize the new me. On the other side I tried to make it look as gray and boring as possible to symbolize the old me. On the Boring side I put a bookshelf to show all the boring books with the sign of basic on the top of the book shelf. I made the creative side have a bookshelf too but, the difference between the two is that there are only a few books. I did this to show that this is new experience and I am just starting to gather my new creative ideas.
My whole life revolves around sneakers. I love them with a passion. They are all bright but this one will truly be lit. As in lit like super flames. Sneakers like the one that we’re working on deserve to be just light. That’s what they are beautiful and bright like stars. I want to work at a job that involves sneakers i’d would be perfect there.
My room represents my 6 word memoir which is, “Losing isn’t an option, winning is.” My memoir means pretty much what it says because I don’t like losing, but I do like winning. I hate losing, and when I do I get mad, so to prevent myself from getting mad I win, and that is the only option. For example my hockey team won the championship last year, and I was so happy, but when we got to the next round which was nationals we lost. I was so mad, and losing was what made me mad. In my room I have a lot of trophies, which represent all the games and championships that I won. Also I have a lot of blankets that have trophies, softballs, basketballs, and one says 1st place. There is one more detail, and that is the picture frames on the back wall, which also represent me losing, and not winning because there is trophies and it says 1st place. This shows all the things I have won, and that is why losing isn't an option.
The backstory to my six word memoir it that everyday we wake up but never really wake up with the right mentality. So my six word memoir is to motivate you to want to wake up succeed in life that and then just keep repeating everyday. Ex: What makes me wanna wake up everyday and succeed then repeat it is to help my mother be successful by motivating her. The things that relate to my 6 word memoir are the bed and the alarm clock because the bed helps me rest so the alarm clock can help wake up in the morning to succeed in life then repeat the next day and so on. Also looking at my room all fancy motivates me to get up and work for more.
The object we chose to light up for our project was a Basketball . We chose a basketball because we like basketball and also it would be unique. The basketball was easy to use and put our circuit on. The last object was to bland and plain we wanted something that would poke out.. With the basketball we have multiple solutions and can fix the circuit any time.. Also we can actually lay our object down without it messing up.
LIFE FORCES US TO CALM DOWN
This is a very powerful 6 word memoir because since i was a younger boy.I was moving to fast and once i got older. I've noticed that i need to calm down and live life a Little slower.Also this room is very simple.It looks a little classy and not all hype.Its a calm setting like the memoir.

This shows a calm life because its basic.Nothing extra to complicate my life.
So we picked to add this to a controller because we both play video games and that’s what we like. We both use the same controller when we play. Also it’s one of our favorite hobbys to do even at school. So, that is why we used a controller for our project.
I chose the shoe as my project because one of my all my favorite things to do is collect shoes. I love jordans nikes and adidas the most. This is one of the first basketball shoes i’ve ever had and I never scuffed them because I was scared to.
