In this unit, we learned about how many people are affected by the lead posing and how traumatic it is for their families. kids as little as 6 years old are getting this posing and the saddest thing about research this topic is knowing that there cant do much after the effect which is so sad. Families are being affected in the low-class areas and lawyers that need to be hired for apartments that have this posing have a tendency to be to late to sue because the patient that had this toxic is desert or in medical attention. This is is sad also because it seems like there is no solution and also it doesn't seem to have a end for this traumatic era

Cell Phone Use Blog Post

The purpose of this project was to gather the number of times students in the 9th grade checked their phones so that we could analyze it. After looking at the data I concluded that I check my phone a lot less than my peers. most 9th graders seemed to spend a lot of time on social media that they should be spending on their academics. I believe it would be a good idea for a lot of 9th graders to take a week off from social media so they get used to what it is like not always having it because this could make them less likely to abuse it later.

The 9th graders used an app to keep track of their data and then they put it onto google sheets.

Cell Phone use project Reflection

Purpose- The purpose of the project is to make my peers and I more conscious of our cell phone use and how it can possibly lead to cell phone addiction, damage the brain, and learning.

Conclusion-In conclusion, my data was like I assumed it would be: “I probably check phone less than my peers.” I also learned that the overuse of cellphones could possibly lead to damage and cell phone addiction and those are unhealthy for the brain. I believe that some of peers show signs of cell phone addiction and that it could possibly set us back in the future because some are addicted to their phones.

The next steps-
  • Turning off the device before bed.

  • Change the location of frequently used apps.

  • Turn off unnecessary notifications

  • Turn on do not disturb mode (DnD).

Multitasking and cell phone addiction

The main idea of the project is about multitasking and cell phone usage. How much we spend our time checking our phones and what does that mean.  What is multitasking, how does it relate to cell phone addiction and what it can do to our time. The project goal is to gather data on cell phone usage using Google sheet and the checky app that collects the amount of times we checked our phones. I came up with a conclusion that cell phone addiction can cause multitasking of doing 2 things or more at the same time which means its gonna take more time to finish. When you know your addicted to your phone, you should tell someone to hide your phone so you can do something productive

Multitasking and Cellphone Addiction

The purpose of this project is to see how many times we check our phones and multi-task and how it is becoming an addiction. In conclusion, many of us multi-task more than we realize and that we are on our phones while trying to learn, do work, watch t.v., etc and our phones have become an addiction. Multi-Tasking doesn't help and slows you down when you try and do something. Here are some tips to not look at your phone all the time: To limit your phone use you can create no phone time zones. Give it to a person you trust to hold it. Try not to look at your phone every time it dings. Try gradually looking at your phone less a day/ set a limit and make that limit smaller every other day. Find other things to occupy your time like playing a sport or doing a hobby.

Cell addiction and Multitasking

The project was about cell phone addiction and multitasking and we tested this on the class of 2021.I found out that multitasking and cell addiction can affect you as a person and in real life and it stops you from completing tasks efficiently and quick. The class of 2021 checks there phone a lot and the stream that checks there phone more than others is West stream. The tips I have for you is focus on one thing, limit your cell phone use,pay attention to how much time your spend on your phone, and take breaks away from you phone.

Internet Survival Guide

The purpose of the project was to see how much we use our cell phones and what we use it for. Also, analyze my data with the rest of the class to see what I realize. Research shows that cell phone addiction and multitasking can damage your brain and you will perform task slower. To avoid these problems you can limit yourself to checking it a certain amount of times a day.

Cellphone Usage Blog Post

I'm going to be talking about the usage of my phone and how it relates to what we have learned about multitasking and cellphone addiction. As well as how my data compares to the different data from my grade. Overall my goal is to become aware of my cellphone use as it relates to how it affects my body and mind. I found out that being addicted to your phone is a real thing and my people around the world are in fact addicted to their cellphones or at least close to being addicted. I also learned that theres an actual explanation for that feeling of needing to check your phone. Which is that your brain gives off dopamine which makes you feel a rush to check your phone when you get a message. I now know that I need to control my phone usage to avoid getting addicted to my phone. You can control your phoen usage by creating no phone times throughout your day, you avoid using your phone throughout the first 30 min of your day, and you can turn off your phone when your about to drive.

I collected my cellphone usage data by using the checky app where I took the data and input it in the google spreadsheet. (LINK BELOW)

The topic topic of this project is to teach us about multitasking and to determine if we're addicted to our phones. I determined that teens are addicted to their phones due to social medias. The topic of this project is to be more conscious of your own phone use as it relates to research around learning, brain function, and addiction. I discovered when looking at My Cell Phone Chart that the average number of checks for my peers was a lower number of checks for my peers was a lower number than my highest average of checks for my cell phone . What I believe now based off of all my data that I collected with the Cell Phone Use is that when calculating the average of everything it made a big difference in use of how I or my peers may use their phones for certain apps that is on their cell phones . Tips I have is taking the time to just relax the brain off of our phones, Distract ourselves to do something other than finding a way to use are cell phone, For myself is when I know I'm using my phone too much just put it aside and shut it down to take a break from it, and last you should take notifications off of your phone sometimes so that you aren't notified as quickly.

What stood out to me during this project was actually learning about Lead poisoning itself. Before this mini project I did not know what was lead poisoning and or even how it effected people. I've also came to known during my research that I live in a city with very high in lead poisoning and no body had ever warn me about it till now. All I am still wondering is that. How do we save people who are like me and not aware of this? How can they not ignored the symptoms of high lead poisoning? And how do you know when your house was built?

Reflection - Tyrone
What stood out to me in the process of doing this info-graphic has been learning more about lead itself and the effects it has on the environment. Coming into this assignment, I didn't know much on lead nor take it as serious, but I've learned that lead can have more of a direct impact on me than I thought. All my questions on lead have been answered, now it's just about doing what is necessary to resolve this issue.

In the city of Philadelphia, there is a critical situation happening below the citizens nose.  in the article “City ignores thousands of  poison kids”  talks about the Dangers lurking Within our drinking water. This is something that hasn't been report it  lately.  This is a problem that no one really knows about. Just a couple months ago and Flint Michigan there was a spike in lead with in the drinking water. The water was contaminated so bad that they were forced to find a new and healthier water system to drink from. it was all over the news and everyone know about it. But as I said earlier that's not the case with Philadelphia. Philadelphia is one of the top cities in the country that deals with children being poisoned with blood.  2700 kids were diagnosed with high levels of lead end the  past year. There are groups that are trying to help the situation but with the 3 million dollar cut In federal funding and the nine million dollar cut in the  programs plus possessions that had to be cut it hasn't been  easy.
