Water contamination is a serious issue that affects millions of people around the world. It is a problem that can have devastating consequences for human health, ecosystems, and the economy. The recent leak of 8,000 gallons of a water-based latex finishing solution from the Trinseo Altuglas chemical facility in Bucks County, near Philadelphia, is a perfect example of how water contamination can occur and how it can impact the environment. We used this as inspiration for the content in the TikTok video and our diorama. We conveyed the idea that human beings’ littering is the reason for water contamination because contamination of vast bodies of water isn’t typically a natural but a man-made issue.

As a team, we decided to tackle the crucial issue of water contamination in our presentation. This topic had become increasingly significant to us after a shocking incident that occurred near Philadelphia. A whopping 8,000 gallons of a water-based latex finishing solution leaked from the Trinseo Altuglas chemical facility in Bucks County. With this unfortunate event, we knew it was time to raise awareness about the dangers of water contamination and its potential impact on our health and the environment. Our video is a showcase of facts and a visual representation of how water contamination happens. The most meaningful part of this project was the time during the collaboration. As far as doing something different we could have had more visuals but overall I believe we excessively filled the requirements of the project.

I chose this subject since I am well aware of how uncomfortable and dangerous extreme heat can be. I really believe that by offering helpful advice, we may effectively support individuals who are affected. I am proud of the research I did for this project, which allowed me to provide it with a lot of useful and relevant information. I believe that I have contributed significantly to this project as a result. The potential benefit of our advice has been what I find the greatest about this project. I have no doubt that individuals in need will find the information we shared to be really useful.

Our team had chosen to make a presentation on the dangers of water contamination, a topic that had recently become important to us as a result of a leak of 8,000 gallons of a water-based latex finishing solution from the Trinseo Altuglas chemical facility in Bucks County, near Philadelphia. We knew that water is a fundamental resource for life and that contamination can lead to serious health complications, like cancer, and that is one of the main reasons why I wanted to shine a light on the water contamination issue. We wanted to show students how pollution affects water and what we can do to mitigate it. We were able to get our message across effectively through a short tiktok film, and I feel our greatest strength was our teamwork. We put in many hours after school, discussing ideas, organizing our time, and my editing skills were essential to the success of the project. There isn’t anything I would change in the end, and we were very proud of the outcome.

My group members and I decided on air pollution because all together we believed that this topic was very important and not looked into enough. We also believed it would go well with our video. I think our video could’ve been longer and well put together if we had more time. We weren’t as productive as we should’ve been but I don’t blame us for that. Regardless we did te best we could for the video and that’s what matters the most.

Our video is about how water contamination is bad for everyone’s health and to inform our audience about the issue of water contamination in Philadelphia and ways of combating this issue. And the reason why we choose this topic is because of the recent news on March 26 about the water being contaminated we felt like talking about that was going to be a good topic. Along with all of the information that they were getting would be easy to put in our video

What we did well was putting all of our information into the video. What we all could have done differently was be at school because some of us would be out and there would be only one person from our group to somewhat do the project. The most meaningful about creating this was coming together more as friends.

I chose asbestos because it is something that has affected me and the rest of my peers in our own school. Our video is about a detective trying to figure out how to protect the people from the villain “asbestos” who was giving everyone asbestosis. In the video, we show ways to get rid of asbestos and describe what it does and what it’s made of. Also the dangers of it and to show awareness. It was a cinematic masterpiece. The only problem in my opinion was that someone was not there to shoot a certain part. The most meaningful part of this PSA was being able to create a fun but a very informative movie for my peers to watch and also hopefully learn from.

During the summer, homes in specific areas of Philadelphia tend to face extreme temperatures due to the outdoor heat as well as a lack of a reliable cooling system. Many health risks and utility issues present themselves during these times because of the overall structure and build of homes specifically in lower North Philadelphia, and West Philadelphia.

Water contamination is a serious issue that affects not only the environment but also the economy and the health of people. When dangerous compounds are introduced into bodies of water like lakes, rivers, and seas, the water quality deteriorates and aquatic ecosystems are destroyed. Agricultural runoff, sewage disposal, industrial discharges, and other factors can all contribute to water contamination.

Several tactics and measures may be used to solve this problem, such as cutting back on the use of harmful chemicals, enhancing wastewater treatment, controlling industrial and agricultural operations, and engaging in responsible waste disposal. A sustainable ecosystem may also be promoted by increasing public knowledge of the effects of water pollution and motivating people to take action.

I feel that we could have provided more thorough justifications for the precise steps and approaches used to address water pollution. Additionally, showing how water contamination affects certain ecosystems especially Philadelphia.

The topic we decided to choose was asbestos. we have decided to choose this as our topic because Asbestos has become an issue that is now affecting children all over the school district and this country. There has been at least 6 schools just this year in the district that have had to close for a limited amount of time or even the rest of the school year because of an extreme asbestos outbreak. One school has been accused of knowing about this issue for at least 2 years and nothing was said about it. That not only puts the staffs lives at risk, but the children most importantly! August of 2021, this school was shut down our first week because of an asbestos outbreak, we had to remain virtual which was extremely brutal due to already ebbing virtual for 1 1/2 years. This is an issue that cannot stay hidden and remained not spoken about. This PSA is to talk about the risks, the affects it has on students, and to be informational as well (with some fun). We hope you enjoy our video as much as we enjoyed making it and stay safe because asbestos is on the loose!

In this video, we talked about what asbestos was. We talked about its effects on the body and more. We also ask students how they felt about it and how it personally affected them. We chose this topic because of how we were affected. We thought we could bring to light the issues that asbestos infestations have caused for schools.

I think our facts were put together pretty well. I think we could’ve done a better job presenting the information.

We chose air pollution because it’s such a meaningful topic.It has a lot of concerning issues.We used Lorax in our video because we thought it was a better way to bring the video to a different level. We probably could have used our time more wisely, even though I felt like we did well.The most meaningful part of this project was probably the bloopers.Also, like Brandon said, this feels bittersweet because it’s our last project working together.

My group and I decided to make a PSA video about water contamination. More specifically, what water contamination is exactly, what causes it, and ways to prevent it. We decided to make a PSA about this topic regarding the water contamination issue that happened in the city a couple of weeks ago where our water was not safe to drink or cook with. Something I believe I did pretty well with was communicating and collaborating with my group members. One thing I wish I/we did differently was to be more prepped and prepared for our video. To me, the most meaningful part of creating the PSA was knowing that we are bringing awareness to the issue and informing others how to deal with and prevent water contamination.

The topic we chose was Air Pollution. We thought of the idea for the video and decided that air pollution would be the best fit. It was an awesome process, as all our videos are, and we had a lot of fun filming and thinking of creative ways to express the urgency of air pollution while also making the film enjoyable for the audience. Mostly everything went well, but a lot of the time the wind was being an opp. Thanks to the tripod, though, the recording went smoothly. I decided on Excessive heat in homes during summertime homes since it’s an issue that needs to be addressed but is rarely brought up. People are unaware of the effects of heat, including the rush’s to human health and the environment. Heat is potentially harmful and should be treated seriously. I believe that I communicated effectively for this assignment and put up a lot of work, but I could have done a better job of not procrastinating. Working effectively with my group members and collaborating on this project was the most meaningful aspect.

The topic I chose to talk about it my PSA was an asbestos. I chose asbestos because it was an issue that ravaged Philadelphia schools for the past couple of years. In my PSA video my group make a detective style movie where we make our main villain asbestos. During the movie we describe what asbestos is how to, get rid of it, and why it is dangerous. What went well was the overall recording process and the editing, we were able to get it done in a significantly shorter time than we expected. Only thing I would change I would use a better camera. The most meaningful part of this PSA was being able to create a fun but very informative movie for my peers to watch and also hopefully learn from.

We chose this topic because this was one of topics we didn’t know much about it. We were able to work together greatly and finish on time. The topic I chose to create PSA about was food insecurity in Philadelphia. I chose this topic because of what we recently were learning about in class and not many people understand what it means to be food insecure. The video PSA me and my partner created was based on the crime shows Law and Order and a little bit of 48 Hours. We wanted to create something that would catch viewers’ attention by doing something familiar. Interrogating the causes of food insecurity makes it easy for viewers to follow while also giving sufficient information.

The creating and planning process went well for me and my partner. Throughout the process, we put ourselves in the viewer’s shoes to be sure they would be able to understand and specific connections. If I had to do something differently I would have added more to the script so some of the things mentioned could be expanded on.

The most meaningful part of the experience of creating the PSA was making the connection to redlining and food insecurity in not only Philadelphia but other cities. It was so meaningful because I was able to see another example of how the practice still has lingering effects.

In our video we chose asbestos as a topic to present as it is a very present issue in the Philadelphia school district. Asbestos is a serious problem that affects many people. Asbestos removal is also a costly procedure when needed. What did you do well and what could you have done differently? I feel that our video was great. We could’ve done better when it came to time management because there were a lot of times when someone wasn’t able to make it so we couldn’t shoot a scene or two that day. What was the most meaningful part of the experience of creating the PSA? The most meaningful part of the project was collaborating with my group mates and learning more about asbestos and its impact on people.

In my PSA I first talk about what food insecurity is, who is at risk for it, etc. This includes some vocabulary terms and other information. Then I talk about how to counter food insecurity by setting up a community garden, including a basic overview of how to set up a community garden. I chose this topic for my PSA because I thought it sounded interesting, there wasn’t any other reason, I just thought it was the most interesting of the available options.

I think I did pretty well writing the script and gathering information, considering I chose to work by myself and did all the work personally. If I were to do this project again I wouldn’t put off recording for so long, because by the time I got around to recording, I had a case of hiccups and I couldn’t put it off anymore. There wasn’t any particularly meaningful part of the whole project, I kinda just did it because I had to, although the feeling of finally getting it done was pretty nice.
