Global Water Crisis

While working on this info-graphic something that stood out to me was that even though the United states is kind of big on helping third world countries/ underdeveloped countries in getting clean water for their everyday lives. There are several cities in the united states that do not have clean or safe water to use. Although the government does know about these issues they don't really do anything to make the situation better. I think that the global water crisis is an environmental justice issue because it negatively impacts people of a certain demographic of people due to the decision of the government and them allowing companies to pollute the water or not properly regulating the water quality.

Water Shortages

Made with Padlet

What stood out to me was the different methods used in order to prevent water shortages. What I was wondering was how did humanity reach a point where we are running out of water. I do believe the global water crisis is an environmental justice because water scarcity, water pollution, algae bloom, and etc. can give high risk to the human and animal population and if anyone were to drink from contaminated water, there can be dire consequences.

After researching for this assignment , I have found out some interesting information. I was unaware that their were floods that happen in Houston repetitively. These were not mini one inch floods but reaching over 30 plus inches is kind a terrifying. This is something that is completely out of anyone's hands, that is why  i do not believe that this was an environmental justice because no one did this to the earth it was simply earths actions. Overall this assignment was a cool way to learn about things I have  never hear of before.

Water crisis is an environmental issue since everyone isn’t getting clean and healthy water. The ones who don’t tend to be minorities and there is really an injustice going on since they are being ignored and as students who live in a city with clean water then we should try and help those who don’t by spreading awareness and talking to our politicians. What really stood out to me is that we have normalized not having clean water by now having tasks on how to get the water you have at home clean. It should not be this way and I would like to know what are some further steps we can take to better this? How can we get everyone to get free accessible water?

Water crisis is one of the biggest environmental issue that occurs all over the world. Being in a water crisis is more known as water scarcity. Water scarcity is the lack of having access to fresh, clean water in different regions of a world. The water crisis is a big environmental justice issue; billions are affected by the lack of clean water and there are many different movements and groups that are trying to get this problem the attention it deserves. The thing that stood out to me the most while researching this topic is how many countries and cities within those countries are affected by these water issues and how little attention it receives. I am still wondering what americans can do to bring more attention to these natural disasters.
