Electric Art Project

The sculpture I chose to use for my Electric Art Project was my tripod. I chose my tripod because I like taking pictures and I wanted to make something light up other than using my camera. I only do two things, and that is running and taking photos. I thought that my tripod would be perfect because I use it to take my pictures and I wanted to do something other than talking about running.

Project made by Sergio, Daniel B, Caylin, Alexander D

At first we thought to make a mirror illusion making lights, but since it wasn't efficient- money and resource wise we decided not to do it. While exploring our ideas we decided to make a lit-up guitar. In the end we decided to build a triangle format for the circuit which was builded in the following way: the triangle was in series while the other triangles were connected in a parallel format, making electricity flow equally throughout each bulb. This was not the only reason why we choose this form, some of those reasons were because: we did not like the idea of lights around the base of the guitar so we decided to put them around the neck; And the circuit around the base was fully in series and to make the circuit parallel we had to make the full circuit in a close space as possible since there wasn't much wire. These changes made our whole circuit light up and transform it into a series/parallel circuit.

For our final physics project of the year, we had to create an art piece that represents something about us that used an electric circuit. I decided to make my electric art piece a light up skateboard because it’s one of my favorite things to do. While I’m just getting into it myself, my brother has owned a skateboard ever since I can remember, and I always thought he was really cool for it, so I picked it up recently and I love it a lot. It's also a great way to exercise since I don't work out.

I decided to add lights to my the back of my basketball jersey where my jersey number is. The lights outline my number. Basketball  means a lot to mean and so does my jersey number. The number I wear is my identity on the court, well to my opponents and others watching. I care a lot about my number because it is the number that will stick with me for the season. If you aren’t getting what I'm trying to say think about the number 23, what do you think about when you hear or see that number. Well when most people hear that number they may think of the Great Michael Jordan. So hopefully one day when people hear or see the number that I wear they will think of me.

Why I chose to make this sculpture is because my phone means oh so very much to me as others may know. The sculpture I have decided to make is on my phone case. What this piece of art says about me is that I am obsessed with my phone it takes my mind off things and to also ignore people which I love to do without my phone I don't think I would be able to survive. Without this I would be in a lot of problems this keeps me sane and keeps me from overthinking many things.

For the Electric Art Project I chose a spoon. A spoon is used for cooking and eating. Those are two of my favorite things. Cooking and eating are things I spend most of my time doing. This circuit is going to make my spoon lit!

We chose a heeled shoe because we thought that it would be a great idea to use something that we love to do in a project. Heels are a statement peace that can make you feel confident in yourself. We thought that heels can be shown as a expression of how you feel.

Light up Phone case

Imani and Sierra decided to make a Iphone 5c case light up.We decided to light up a phone case because we thought it would be appealing to viewers. The lights are on both the left and right side of the phone case. The battery is under the phone case in the front where the phone is usually placed.

Art is the head of creativity and can be expressed using anything. I decided to make this sculpture mainly because what I have seen in the past years. Along with this sculpture, it always sets my day mood because of how abstract the internet is. This is what I enjoy doing and will remain a hobby as I will never dis appreciate myself.

We choose to make the light up a purse as a sculpture because it come in handy to many women. It provides light which makes it easier to see whatever is inside of the bag. The lights are lined up at the top of the bag or at the opening giving the bag room to close properly. The battery or power source is located on the top wing of the inside pocket also.

Electric Art Project(Sanai & Alexis)

We chose to create a light up wallet. This is important to us because we are both girls and use wallets to hold our things. We put the lights on the outside of the bag because when I have to look in my bag to get something out of my wallet I can never find it. And having the lights on the bag, will make it easier to find my things.

Mekhya and I  chose to make our handbag  light up. We’re making our handbag  light up because it symbolize our passion for fashion. Adding the lights to the handbag would be something helpful because when women usually dig in their handbag they can’t see. The lights would be perfect for women because then they could see what they're looking  for. Us using a piece of clothing and remodeling, helps us start in the fashion world.

I chose to do a pocketbook. This is important to me because without it, I wouldn't have anything to hold my things in and I would probably lose most of my personal items. I wanted to have a light in the bag because I go out a lot, and when I am out and it is dark and I need something from out of my bag I really can’t see. So I wanted to include so light so that I can save some time and find what I need.

I chose a heart piece because i think everyone's heart has a light. Since I was little I knew that the heart may be weak but deep down there's a light that never goes out. I think that because even the darkest person has a bright side. When I was in kindergarden i met a girl that was very shy and mean. I had to help her open up to me. Once i made her feel comfortable around me she was a really nice girl. She just had trust issues. So my sculpture gives me a good memory of how i made a good friend.

My bulbs are in series so they are dim.

I decided that my sculpture that represents me personally is a stage because I love performing.  My artist statement for this would be “ Life is your stage so perform to the best you are able to.” I am trying to say that in life you should try to act as if you are performing at your best and try your best.  I strongly believe this because ever since I was little I have always wanted to my best.  I like to do well all the time because I really want to succeed whether it is on the stage or if it is off the stage.

For this project I wanted to choose something related to skateboarding. The object I chose is a miniature skateboard. I chose to use this foundation for the project because I have been skateboarding since I was 12 years old and the miniature skateboard shows my interest in the sport in a small space.

Artist Statement

I chose to use this because this might bring a good challenge to both me and my partner .I also choose this sign because I like the colors black and yellow . The sign already light up but with the extra colored lights it brings an extra pop into the lights that come with it. Then the lights are just there and we have our sign.

Electronic project Jorge & Jonathon

We chose a book bag because it relates to our lives. We both go to school and learn about stuff. Our design will be at the bottom of the front and middle areas of the bag. With two bulbs sticking out the bag. We have two pairs of parallel one in the middle and the back of the bag. We also have a complete circuit in the front of the bag.

Fork By Sav & Siani

The object we use to complete our project was a fork. We used a fork explaining what we love to do best which is eating. Me and my partner Siani White enjoy eating anytime and anywhere. We choose the fork because the fork explains us best than any other object. We take the time to try out new foods when using a fork so we are able to get in touch with certain other places that have different kinds of food than where we live.

Electric Art

The goal of this project is to incorporate an item of personal significance as well as an electric circuit run off a battery. I have chosen to light up my track spikes since I have a strong passion for Track & Field and since I can’t light up a whole track I chose an old pair I used to run in. The sculpture I made shows that I have a love for what I do and I am really into it. I’ve been running track for three years now and I intend on getting scholarships from my efforts/achievements. I also hope to run in the Olympics and break the world records for the 100m and 200m dash one day.
