Ke'yon remembers  those rainy days  in the mornings and not feeling like to get up and waking up late for school.Everyday he would wake up late just to catch the septa bus and every time he would wake up late and just stare at the clock because he was so lazy to get out of the bed.

As he goes into his room he looks at his coin jar and count it up and he sees that it way more money then from when he was younger to as he is older. As he goes downstairs he forgot that he had put a plant in the living room  and he watches it grow  from a younger little boy to as he is now every time his mom goes to the store or to the market she sits a candle next to the plants. His mom only light the candle if it stank in the house. Also Every time his mom goes to walmart she buys fresh dove soap and sit it on the sink so then every time before somebody eats they have to wash they hands with that soap.

So...there’s this girl...she...um… a…an undergraduate who attends Princeton, in New Jersey. She loves to cook and eat and when people bring her food. She has a big dinner tonight so she can get a job interview the next day. She is not in a hurry to cook anything. She sits down thinking about what she’ll prepare.

Caroline is sitting in her kitchen sitting on her chair gazing at the black and white tiled floor wondering what she’ll make for dinner. As she she continues to gaze at it, she starts to think about her favorite show “American Horror Story,” wondering if Jessica Lange is going to be in any of the upcoming seasons...She looked up and saw there was a half eaten sandwich right next to her, a glass of water with a bold green lipstick around the rim, and a note that said, “enjoy!” and a bouquet of chrysanthemum. “I don’t live with anyone…”

More Places To Have Fun!

This website was created by two Philadelphia high school seniors with a goal of showing their appreciation of the city. We, Lyza Newbern and Michael Parkinson have designed and established the best...

Abstract:

For our capstone, we chose to utilize our city around us. Where we grew up and continue to live is very important to use, as it is a large city which many people aspire to visit one day. We wanted to utilize our city to create our lasting legacy at Science Leadership Academy at Beeber. Our final project was a website which high school students, adults, and visitors can use to find places to learn about the history of our city. Included in each page on the website is a source of the actual place so they can do additional research. As well as doing our own research we created an ideal walking tour which the visitors of the website can use as they please. This was actually an interesting experience for us because not only were we learning more and more about places in the city and the history around us; we began to feel like travel agents planning a families vacation in a city that we are used to. As well as creating the website and conducting research, we created brochures that could be handed out around the school and neighborhoods. We hope that you enjoy our efforts to spread the love for our city and its extremely interesting history!

To summarize the article it states that you must chose a topic or theme, plan a route and research the stories, places and people you want to talk about on the way. It is also important to note the length of the tour and choosing specific points of interest.

Sloppy Joe's Sloppy Room

Joe could always remember those old days in his sloppy room, after all he was nicknamed Sloppy Joe. Getting yelled at by his mom wasn’t always his favorite thing, being a shut in and all. Skipping school was a disgrace to the family! Looking back at his sloppy days, he remembers the 2009 computer he owned years ago, still having the mac logo in place, but still having grease and bugs all over it.

As he stands in his old dusty and dirty room, he gazes at the rough carpet and spots his favorite action figure having a huge scratch across his chest. A piece of hardwood falls on him, not enough to hurt, but to realize that the ceiling was near the end of its life, “It is time to take action”, Joe said! No more of the torn down ceiling, floor, and walls!

While cleaning up his room and turning it into a masterpiece, he spots his childhood photo of him posing for a fourth grade picture, how embarrassing that was. He looks at the mirror and compares how he looked many years ago to now. In a couple hours, his room turns into a like-new condition!

Klya's room

Klya sat in her bedroom on the couch by the window.  She had just moved into this big house and she had picked this room because it was her favorite one in the house.  Even though it wasn't too big she loved the big windows that gave her a nice wiew of the backyard, the wooden floor, and the fact that it had a bathroom connected to it.  So far her room was pretty bare.  She hadn’t really given the chance to fill it up with too much stuff.  She had some of her furniture from home like her bed, couch, her shelve with some of her old stuff, and desk with a chair, and a rug.  She also had her favorite teddy bear which her mother had given her when she was little and she and she had kept it ever since, her rug which had been made by her best friend as a going away present. She couldn’t wait to fill it up with more stuff. A few things had been left by the previous owners who had lived there before like the painting of the ocean hanging on the wall and a few books.

Fun Room

Shannon is a 22 year old who likes to play soccer, paint mountains, and dance the night away. She loves to paint, with her paint brush, but first needs to draw her image out with her handy pencils. Though she likes her room a lot, she loves her fun room or so called study. She has a fun room, because Shannon gets stressed and bored pretty easy, so she made a fun room. Shannon filled it with a bean bag chair a desk with a chair, and recently a book shelf. So far she has only one book in it, but soon is gonna fill it with plenty of books to fill a library. She marks down the days on when she is free to relax and watch outside her sky window. Sometimes she gives out free love to her friends and workers to help them with their stress

Lucia Idriss capstone

Thought these past few months of determining what I would like to do for my senior capstone considering I had a lot of options. But I finally settled on one, my career as a fashion designer. It has been a really tough struggle getting to the point where I am now. In the beginning, getting started was very complex for me. Learning how to sew and also picking out which designs I’d like to start off with.I bought my first sewing machine in late august but did not begin to actually use it until december and I had issues with it as well where I had to stop sewing at home and even come in early to school to use the school's machine. My first Fashion show where i was a designer and not a model took place this year at Columbia University in New York city. I was scouted through social media to participate in their show and I was truly honored especially as a new designer, This was huge for me. I met a lot of great people and designers that attended the most prestigious of Fashion design schools, ( Parsons, The New School and Fashion Institute of Technology ) I winded up going to that show alone, with no one to accompany me and see my dreams come to life but it was still a great experience even though I had to bask in it by myself.

“ Everything I learned about getting dressed, I learned from pop music. I grew up in the 80s, at the pinnacle of pop’s pomp and pageantry. It’s hard to imagine oneself back to those days, before “pop” became the pejorative term it is – shorthand for the interchangeably banal warbling that is a pretext for Saturday-night TV. In the 80s, pop was the main attraction – it was a genre so broad and vibrant, musically and aesthetically, a sparkling explosion of hooks and looks in the age of the music video, of unreality TV. Pop stars seemed to be from another planet and dressed to demonstrate as much. Madonna, Kate Bush” this useful for that quotes entire statement. I trust this because this is coming first hand from someone who lived through that generation and also was influence the same way I was.

Was other people inspired by music of the fashion industry.

This is useful to me because I incorporate my fashion with culture and I feel as though the culture of different ethnicities is what made the fashion industry what it is now. “ Fashion— undoubtedly— reflects culture. All major trends and styles of the past, in one way or another, came to be by way of cultural influence. Throughout history, this is particularly noticeable in the realm of women’s fashion. Only at the turn of the 20th century, when women were beginning to more strongly fight for equal rights, were women first seen wearing pants.” I trust this source because it backs up each fact and has resources. Has culture appropriation been depriving the fashion industry?

Fashion is in love with art like never before. From clothing design to catwalk show art direction, major labels to boutique houses, the word of fashion is falling over itself to involve important names from a diverse range of the visual arts. It’s hardy surprising — after all what is fashion if not wearable art — and these collaborations between the disciplines are certainly mutually beneficial. Fashion, often unfairly judged as one of the more frivolous applied arts, gains serious cachet by association, while the artist reaches a wider, more populist audience.”

This is useful well because of that quote. Fashion is wearable art. I trust this source because I feel as though I can relate to what they are saying because it is true. NONE.

Mikayla Brailsford, Senior Capstone

“The Criminal Justice System, and How It Oppresses Black People” is the title of my Senior Capstone. My Senior Capstone is a presentation which walks the viewer through the history of the system, and how we have arrived at the place we are at, at this point in history. The Criminal Justice System is just like any other man-made system, there are flaws as no man can produce something that is perfect. The Criminal Justice System wasn’t created overnight, it was founded in Colonial America, and was created for the time period. As time progressed, the system changed to fit the needs of the time, and throughout my project, you will see how it progressed to fit the times, in addition to how it was created into a system to keep people of color oppressed.

This story is suppose to be the simplistic living room of a college graduate who just purchased his first house. He has little experience with living on his own, paying his bills ,responsibilities, all foreign to him.You can see that his house is not all the way filled and has simple furniture. He is trying to get all together and being organized but has no idea of what to fill the room with.So it just filled with simple rug a clear vase with a fake flower and a pretty long table not fitting the living room atmosphere

Amalia moved into her grandmother's house 15 years later after she died. All of her furniture is still there, she slowly reminisces over her childhood house.  She walked into her old bedroom where she found her blanket that she used as a baby. When she turns to the left, she sees her grandmother's book, "to the moon and back", that was read to her every Saturday before bed. As she was about to leave she walked to the door she sees a set of portraits made by her grandfather, a famous artist. The portraits were passed down to her mother and now passed down to her.

My Room

I opened my bedroom door, brisk, cold air hit my face. I walked in and looked around, remembering the days where the walls were blank. Where the room was empty, void of life and memories.

My bed was neatly made up, with the books I’ve recently and previously bought. I sat on it and picked up my computer, the late birthday from my mother. It was identical to the one she has. I opened it and started to watch some videos on Youtube. After watching hours of Youtube videos, I got up from my bed and looked at my posters, posters I’ve bought from Amazon that resembled for love for anime and meaningful quotes.

I walked over to my dresser. My mother had a friend to built and paint it. It was a rich blue color and was filled with my clothes. The dresser also had some more of my books on top of it and a writing certificate on the wall. I reached over and grabbed a book. I walked over to my bed and started to read.

Ballet Gala

Sweaty and drained, Lorelei's polished feet graces around the room. "Flex, point, flex, point," she does in front of the mirror. Persistent, Lorelei stretches the core of her thighs.

The light dims through the window and shines her face. Spacious and immense the walls are mural filled with past generations of prima ballerinas. A family tradition to inherit this studio, Lorelei will be the 9th.

Placing her legs towards the dilapidated dance barre, her point shoes lay gently beside. Watching over, the baby grand piano she notices a letter. Reading aloud, it says, "Elegant and light, the stage is yours."

Venice recounts the hours spent that she would get ready for her first days of high-school. Reflecting on her encounters, her interactions, and the ways that her days would end.

Now, within the present, sitting on her mattress inside of her bedroom, she gazes at the envelope labeled from Yale University. This was the ticket to her future; it was now or never. She anxiously settles her stare onto a painting that was given her as a graduation gift; a picture she had taken of a rose turned photograph. “This is everything. This is everything that I’ve waited for. If I don’t open it now... I will never know,” she murmurs to herself.

Before opening the letter, she inhales a deep breath, exhaling an adequate amount of air. She gazes at the table across the room, a chair tucked beneath it. “Here we go,” she says, beginning to rip it open.
