The spiral of Theodorus is based on the Pythagorean Theorem. The Pythagorean Theorem is a that proves that the square of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. The spiral of theodorus starts with a right triangle. The right triangle is also isosceles meaning that two sides of the same length and then you have the hypotenuse. The outside  length is always 1.

Art pro

To create the spiral project you will need mixing right  triangles with different size. Then to measure or put  every single triangle inside the Spiral accurately you should use the protractor. And also to calculate the hypotenuse of the triangles you will need to use this solution which is A-square plus B-square equal to C- square ( a^2 + b^2 = c^2).

Making this piece of artwork is very simple to do because all you have to know how to do is make a right angle. Just continue to make right angles and make sure one side is 1 inch and you will make a spiral. The math is super simple because once you know the square root of the first triangle it's pretty easy to find the rest. All you do is take a2+b2=c2 so for the first triangle shown above you just plug in the length of the sides that make the right angle and then square root it!

The meaning of my art work is that love is also hate. The definition of a love hate relationship refers to someone or something about which you have mixed feelings, both strong positive feelings and strong negative ones. Love and hate are two different but extreme opposites, yet they exsist in one person. You put them on opposite hands yet both hands are a part of you. you cant love without hate, and you hate without love. What inspired my work is the different levels in relationships , there is always an love hate moment. My location is in front of the art room because love is art.

WHITEBOARD PAINTED WALLS PROJECT

Science Leadership Academy at Beeber in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is looking for a grant to provide the students clear, focused and interactive space…. (some more intro).

Science Leadership Academy has approximately 325 students. Of those 325, about more than half use use the Engineering/Math room on a daily basis. Multiple students use the space has a collaboration space during lunch. This space engages in a lot of creativity, collaboration and innovation. However, the space is not engaging or pleasing to let ideas run and create. There is a small chalkboard space and unneeded construction paper that takes up space from drawing and sketching ideas.

Painting whiteboard paint hopes to promote effective teamwork and communication. If people find verbal communication an issue, whiteboard paint can open up a space for visual communication. It doesn’t require paper to be used for ideas, just draw and snap a picture. This project is to create a more welcoming environment where ideas aren’t limited to the size of a paper.

The budget required to carry out this project is $500. $450 will be spent on the painting material. We are looking to buy Transparent, Eco-Friendly Whiteboard Paint from Writeyboards for $150 per 50 square feet. The amount of square feet we will be painting is approximately 96.72 square feet. Thus we require two purchases, each at $150. However, to be on the safe side we would prefer to buy 50 square feet more paint. The rest of the $50 will be spent on paint supplies such as rollers and paint trays. We will not need much supplies as it is a one room project, a budget of $500.

To visually see a difference in the room with whiteboard paint, we have a virtual model. The model was created through Tinkercad, a real depiction of our Engineering/Math room. The image has been split. One side with the mounts, that we want to remove. One side with a view of how clean the room would look without the whiteboard mounts. Another image is of the side view, another place where mounts would be removed. It has the same idea as the previous one. It is clearly visible, a room without chalkboard or whiteboard mounts looks more modern and inviting.

Respectfully,

Mallika Saini, Emanuel-Spain Lopez, Jacqueline Shepard and Adam Bennett

Classroom improvement

Hand Sanitizer

There’s been multiple times i've when to the hand sanitizer dispenser for hand sanitizer and there’s none in there and it really frustrates me. So what my plan is I want to put hand sanitizers all over over the classroom. I think it’s best to have hand sanitizer because number one it's more sanitary and we always have engeneering after lunch and some people be playing basketball or doing whatever and it makes their hands dirty. Also there is never soap in the bathrooms so personally I am always looking for something to make my hands more sanitary. This project will not take long at all , all i'm going to do is go to like a dollar store and purchase 5 hand sanitizers and we can place 3 out in the class and keep 2 hidden for when they run out.

Clean the tables to tape ‘em, the students that clean get extra cred.{not the tables the pockets within the tables, tape the pockets shut after the clean}

Team

  1. Amna Clean ‘em

  2. Michael Tape ‘em

The tables are very dirty and student needs better grades. Only tape and soap and water and a pair of hands are needed. The students that clean get extra cred. In addition, only one person needs. Every person after that gets the job done faster. Afterward tape the tables so they can’t not dirty ‘em again. We can’t remove and we don’t use so taping is the best. Glue is too sticky. This project can be done today. Once the tables are clean and taped then the success is real.

Classroom Re-Engineering

For our project, we decided to reconstruct and organize the back of the room. We felt like this would help not only our classroom itself but also be helpful to the students who may not be familiar with certain things in the back of the room. Below you will see some before pictures that show what we want to reconstruct/and or organize. Also We have a chart that explains our roles and what we are going to be doing. We weren't able to get pictures of the After because we weren't finish all the way. We should be by Thursday of this week.

My rose of pain

This work means the many times I've been pricked by life's rose and how I have learned so much and how much I have experienced just my first year in high school and how much I have changed.
what inspired me was just basically all the experiences I have had and an old saying that I know from down south its " honey you would think a rose would be as nice to feel as it is to look at it but once you touch it and prick ya finger you learn and become wiser that's exactly how life is"
well I'm going to put this art piece right next to the 4th stair well on the third floor because as soon as i started my first day of high school everything changed.
No because I've always seen street art as a form of art nothing really changed.
I mean after watching the movie it does give you more of an appreciation for it and makes you wonder the message behind it because there is always a story or a message behind art even street art.

Instructional Video: Color Splash!

For my tech project I did an instructional video. In my instructional video I decided to teach viewers how to do color splash edits using fotor editor. In my instructional video I decided to color splash edit one of my Costa Rica pictures. The fotor site allows you to do many different effects. Since the color splash was something I was most good at, I decided to teach that in my instructional video. In the end the process of this project was not bad. I did overcome a few obstacles when it came to recording and doing voice overs. I did enjoy creating the video because it was on something I greatly understood. Instructional videos are definitely something I may consider doing in the future. Also I would like to thank fotor because it is an amazing site and you should check it out!

Organization Clean Up Crew

My plan was to make a clean up organization crew in which everyone would work and clean up. The reward would be some extra credit points and something you could put up on a resume for college.  I also made up a detailed plan for it which you can see if you ask me. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1laUBezsqX0ckabzc8833aCTdnuvvgYzdf3i-ZJr9FEk/edit..

For this benchmark we decided to paint the walls on the second. Based on the testimonies of other students and stuf they agree as well, "The walls look bland." said by 10th grader Migdaila Ocasio. We chose two colors, Cheerful tangerine and wisteria blue, out of the colors students and staff did a survey on which colors they like. Based on the survey it was a tie between both so we decided to use both with an accent wall, Snow cloud white. Since we are unable to paint during the time of this project it will be done during the summer. For the mean time, we researched how the colors affect us and what we need to have. In the research we found that the color blue will give stimulation for creativity and a state of calm, relaxation. It increases communication, logic and efficiency. But, if it’s too much it can encourage the feelings of depression. And with the color of orange can cause emotions of hunger, warmth, security, and fun. It stimulates enthusiasm and increases oxygen to the brain that you energy and increases brain activity. But it is important to be cautious with the use of this color because it can also causes frustration and immaturity. As for the color white it can give a sense of clarity, purity, and hygiene but with the this color it can cause you to feel unfriendly.
The prices for the supplies:
Cheerful tangerine- $33.98 per gal.
Wisteria blue- $31.98 per gal.
Snow cloud white- $33.98 per gal.

Engineering Class Improvements - Rearrange the back of the room

The problem with the current situation in the back of the room is that it’s incredibly messy. It’s almost impossible to find anything back there, and it’s really easy for people’s work to get destroyed.

Plan:

There are projects lying on the ground everywhere. Things are just sitting on tables. Some things are in different shelves or in different places from where they are supposed to be. Our job will be to fix this. Here are some ideas we had to fix these problems.

  • Create a group of student to clean up the back of the classroom, either during class or during lunch.

  • Divide the back of the classroom into sections to help organize

    • Supplies

    • Projects

    • 3D Printing

    • Etc.

  • Using the maker space create shelves or new places for storage throughout the back of the classroom

  • Clean up the boxes in the back of the classroom

After:

With our current timeline, we probably won’t be able to finish reorganizing the back of the room. We would probably need around 3 more class periods of every member in our group organizing and cleaning to fully complete this project. We would also need to make the shelves and storage space in the maker space, which could organize a small team to do during class or at lunch. This should take about 2-3 classroom/lunch days.

Instructional Video

Making this video was easier than I expected it to be, literally the only two things you need to do is download TechSmith Snaget and know how to use the website. Downloading the program was easy to do but the hard part was making sure that I was prepared to smoothly explain everything (lets be honest we all really only wanted to do this once) that way I didn't have to do it over and over. After downloading the thing and going on the website all I did next was clicked on the tab to TechSmith and click on the option to record my screen. Next literally all you do is just explain everything, click and point, and show all the steps to making whatever you are making. I learned that it is super easy to make an instructional video so next time I can do it sooner.

Street Art

The meaning of my work was to show what I've been through this past year. The eye with the broken heart represented the heart break that I went through and the times i cried over things that I now see as irrelevant. The angry microphone was a symbolization of how I used singing to manage my anger and other feelings that I was feeling. The two  shaking hands that looked like guns were a representation of broken promises by friends that I never thought would hurt me.What inspired my work was my personal experiences throughout the last year. I chose the wall that you see as you exit from Ms.Hertz's room but not for any particular reason other than that it was an open space .It really didn't change how I felt about art because it has always been a way for me to express my hidden feelings. It changed my perception of art around the city because now I dont see it as vandalism but as a form of self-expression.

Engineering Room Makeover

In giving the engineering room a makeover, there will be multiple groups tackling different tasks in hopes to upgrade this room to something new. There are organizers, painters, designers, and many more. Since there is so much to do in little time, I will be working with Will and a few others in hopes of coordinating the curtains and wall color paint. Firstly, I am doing this because of the simple fact that the curtains are not eye appealing. They are a dark green and grey color that doesn’t really brighten my day, or anyone's day for that matter. I think brightening them up giving them a little color will make everyone’s day better, no matter rain, sleet, snow, or hail, they will continue to be eye catching and fun. Needing new curtain rods are just almost a complete necessity with the new curtains. Yes, we became innovative with using the Makerspace to create wooden rods, but they are boring and bland. Maybe if we were to paint them too, or give them some design it will be better, but the way it is, it has to go.
There are some ideas of blue or coral colored walls, that I don’t agree with, with white linings.  The white linings will give the room some more brighter colors especially on the outside of the windows that will allow me to pick a color for the curtains, also a white.
With all these renovations we plan to make will give each student more confidence in showing off our school and having the sense of accomplishment, knowing that they were able to help get the school to such a beautiful state. For myself to have a helping hand in the school would just fulfill the senior class because I can always say that, “yes I helped build this school to something better, brighter, and prettier.” Plus, having a little female touch to anything never hurt. To complete this task I will need curtains and new curtain rods. If anyone is interested in donating curtains, rods, or your time you can contact me at ssmith2@slabeeber.org.

Street Art

The meaning of the art work I created is that I'm queen M. The M is the initial in my first name. Also, it's my 2 favorite colors, blue and purple. The thing that inspired my work was the fact that I love that my full name has 3 M's. Also, everyone has a high confidence and think they all that and i like crowns so i drew one on top of my M. I chose the location I chose because it needed to be somewhere high because I stand high and tall. This project changed my perspective of art because I used to think art was just great beautiful drawings of animals people buildings etc. But now I know it can be more than that. It can be irregular shapes everywhere splatter pain anything from your imagination is art. This project changed my perspective of art as I travel the city because around the city I see a bunch of graffiti. I always used to think graffiti wasn't art but after watching that movie, it's like everything around me changed my perspective. I didn't even think about the people that did it could be famous. Honestly everyone has a different meaning of art and mine is what come from your imagination. It can be something real or something from your imagination.

ART

The work I created represents a group of youtubers called the faze clan. It is their logo. I was inspired by you telling me to draw something and it was the first thing I saw.I chose my location be case you said I had to put it up and that was the first place I saw. It made me dislike art more. I still don't pay any attention to art.
