I notice how quickly the crayon dries back after you turn off the blow dryer. I really do like the method and this process. I realize that you have to turn the gun on an angle to really get the crayons dripping. I probably will also place my canvas on an angle for better position. I believe that I will hold the board long ways to get a better flowing picture.

Cut-Out Fashion

This is a rough sketch of my project. My experience with this is knowing the basics and learning as I go to complete this. I know my materials that I need to do and the videos I need. While I was doing this , I realized that I have to make my cut-outs the same sizes. , if not it would not be a good outcome. But , from prior experience I know you have to sketch and measure things out in order for it to match up. Another thing is to always put things in place before you glue because if you make a mistake there isn't no going back.

The love of crayola

This was a first time and enjoyable experience. During this class, it was only one blowdryer and someone was already using it. Therefore, I melted the crayons with a lighter. When I was melting it, the wax starting melting very quickly, and it hardened very quickly. While I was melting my crayons, I saw the girl who was melting hers with a blowdryer. I will use this advantage to my best because I for sure know that this is fast, but if I spill it somewhere else, I need to clean it up ASAP The blow dryer method took very long. However, this was still a wonderful experience overall.

For the art piece, I experimented with the medium marker. I've experienced many times before with the medium marker. I tried different shading with this medium and outlining. This practice with this medium helped me decide what techniques I want to use in my art project. Marker is my favorite medium out of all the mediums. Marker is so simple to use, but has so many possibilities.

My experience with the pastel was cool. Its thick like a paste kind of. I like the way the colors pop they look real bright. I know i have to practice, but practice makes perfect. I wish that I could have used more colors but what I've chose to draw or color in witht he pastel it really on required the reddish color. I know that I have to put pressure on the pastels to acheive a darker color. And the same if i wanted a lighter color. I like The pastels overall.

A skill I wanted to learn is learning new time signatures. I did accomplish this goal. I know I accomplished my goal because now I know how different time signatures work. I’m not sure of the other skills I've learned. I’m most proud of finishing the project and it sounding good. What I would do different is change the scale of the notes.

Max's Project

For my Quarter 3 project I chose to learn how to photoshop images, I used to pixlr to create a hybrid of two animals: a giraffe and a guinea pig. While working on the project I learned how to use multiple tools within pixlr such as the magic wand. The challenges I ran into were learning how to edit pictures and actually editing the picture. Other challenges I faced were the background because it made combining two images very challenging. I am most proud of how seamless the transition of giraffe to guinea pig is. I don't think I would do anything differently besides choosing different animals and doing more of it in school and not at school.

Greg's House

These past few weeks I have been building a house on the site http://www.homestyler.com. This allowed me to make a virtual house with actual "name-brand" furniture too. Overall, this was an awesome site and gave me ideas and introduced me into a word of virtual architecture. I would love to do this again and this was one of my favorite projects.

  1. Describe your project
My project is a virtual house made on the site http://www.homestyler.com/designer .

  2. What knowledge did you already have about the project before you started?

The only thing I knew was I wanted to be an architect, so I researched blueprints and based my home off of that.

  1. What new skill did you want to learn coming into the project?

The new skill I wanted to learn was how to use the website and also learn how I would want to build my own soon.

  1. Did you accomplish the goal of learning this new skill?
I did accomplish both of my skills. I learned how to use the site perfectly and this is a perfect way to make my house. I also learned how to use different furniture both inside and outside of my virtual house.

  2. How do you know you accomplished the goal? If you didn’t accomplish your goal, why do you think that is?

I know I accomplished my job of learning about the website because people using the same site ask me where things are and how to move an item and I always help them. I’m not confused and I love to help them because this site was simple to use.

  1. What other skill(s) did you learn along the way?

Another skill I learned was using an embed code. I’ve used it before with other things, however when you use this code you can see my home in both 2D and 3D which is very cool and it’s a great skill I picked up.

  1. What are you most proud of in this project?

The thing I am most proud of is not procrastinating this project. Usually, I wait until last minute to get a project done, but this time I used my time wisely and effectively. Since I did this, I get to have a little break thursday because I have everything done before the due date.

  1. What would you do differently if you had to do the project over again?

One thing I would do differently is make a second floor to my home for exceeding expectation.

Project Research

I wanted to experiment with watercolor. Drawing bodies is my favorite thing to draw, so I drew a girl. My picture is about a girl who has a pure heart, and everywhere she goes, her light touches others. I represented this by using warm colors for the girl, and cool colors for the surroundings. I still am not skilled with paint, but I actually enjoyed creating this piece.

Wayne's animation on the court

  1. Describe your project
My project is an animation based on the dancing of a young man that can really move. The boy that i chose from the scratch sprites selection was one of many that had lots of costumes. The project is what happens when a boy dances on a court and takes it over.

  2. What knowledge did you already have about the project before you started?
I had the knowledge that i wanted to create an animation using scratch. So i looked up some coding animations before hand which gave me the knowledge to create an animation using coding no matter which language, which i had also studied. I had the knowledge of different coding languages such as python which is the hardest coding language to learn.

  3. What new skill did you want to learn coming into the project?
The new skill i wanted to learn was being able to create an animation. I had no idea on how to make animations before i did my research but after this project i now can create animations. My new skill will enable me to create new and better animations and even go for the harder stuff now.

  4. Did you accomplish the goal of learning this new skill?
I accomplished the goal of learning this new skill because i used a animation card before, but now i can just create the animation i would like without the use of the cards. Although the cards are pretty helpful, but i still can create my own animation by myself. I can also change my backdrop and edit my sprites whenever i need to.

  5. How do you know you accomplished the goal? If you didn’t accomplish your goal, why do you think that is?
I know i accomplished my goal because i worked really hard to complete my project. I also have analyzed my new skill well enough that now i can read the coding inside of the animations. I know this skills has been accomplished because i am able to help myself understand the coding.

  6. What other skill(s) did you learn along the way?
The other skills i learned along the way was that i learned to find research really easily by going on certain websites and taking in the best information. This new skill will be efficient for my next project in this class because a good researcher can accomplish anything.

  7. What are you most proud of in this project?
I am most proud of how determined i was because even though i had to start over i still finished my entire project in the time we had left. My project itself made me proud because it is my expression of what i like to do.

  8. What would you do differently if you had to do the project over again?

I would not do anything differently, although i might have made sure all my animations were finished before i logged out of scratch.
