Ivana Gutierrez's Capstone
As the year ends we are close to presenting our final project for the year! For my senior capstone I decided to be a bit more creative with myself. I chose to do special effects makeup (sfx), because of my capstone I believe it allowed me to demonstrate of what I am capable of doing and also I believe it’s a fun way of being creative. What I did for project was make two videos, one of the process and the other of all the final looks. Each look took me about an hour and half to create. In the video everything is sped up so it wouldn’t be a long video when someone is watching it. I created three different looks but similar at the same time, they were all horror and gore. The first one I created was a scary clown and I used my brother as the model for it. The second look I created was a torn off face and the last look I created was monster with scary teeth. Both those I created on myself. From creating this project I learned that there is another side of just using regular makeup, there is also other ways to be creative and that hopefully this can inspire others to try something different.

For my Senior Capstone, I decided to set the volleyball team, that I was able to lead for my senior year, up for success. I wanted to leave them and new teammates with new supplies, skills, and a sense of family within our team. I worked with my mentor and volleyball coach, Ms. Moran, and the Athletic Director, Ms.Lawson, to research and order new supplies for our team. Thankfully, we were grateful enough to have all of our items approved, purchased, and set up. Following this process, Ms.Moran and I held open gyms twice a month to recruit and build a stronger volleyball group. We analyzed and we will soon be collectively choosing a new captain to lead our team next year. This has also in some ways become a mentor project for me as well !I have been able to work closely with some of my teammates that see me as a role model in volleyball and appreciate my choice in supporting and uplifting my team as my capstone. I hope that my capstone helps any student who yearns for a smaller support setting, a fun sport, an experience of a high school lifetime and keeps the importance of our volleyball team alive at SLA @ Beeber.

My Senior Capstone was working/volunteering at Outpatient Pharmacy at Temple Hospital. I particularly picked this to be my capstone since growing up I admired my sibling and observed how he helped the group being a Pharmacist. The procedure was altogether different distressing and difficult, from ]standing behind a counter for quite a long time, wearing awkward cleans, running drug to patients rooms, putting pills away, or managing an irate/surly patient or client. When I initially began I was apprehensive in light of the fact that I was the most youthful individual there, just seventeen years of age and my colleagues were from the scope of twenty-three to fifty years of age. Yet energized, I knew this would get ready and better me as a future Pharmacist.
