Ignite Presentation

Slide 1:

Slide 2: For Quarter 1, we had to create a website to display our resumé, featured projects and contact information. It was designated for colleges and possible jobs to make it.

Slide 3: The overall vision for my website was to just create something visually appealing and calming. I didn’t want the website to be cramped or extremely bright colors. I just wanted it to be peaceful and simple.

Slide 4: This was successful because I just believe it did that. It looks calming because of the light blues and the images of the sky that I have taken with my phone. Nothing is cluttered and everything is easy to read.

Slide 5: For Quarter 2, I choose the image editing project. The reason why I chose this project is because I believe that image editing was an interesting topic and I was always messing with digital art from time to time.

Slide 6: The overall vision was for there suppose to be a message for true beauty for oneself. I wanted someone to see how I portrayed or most so viewed beauty in my eyes.

Slide 7: I think this project was successful, if not my most successful project that I did. The reason why is because I just believe that everything came well together with the images that I used and I just loved the end result.

Slide 8: For Quarter 3, I chose the video editing project because I wanted to try making a video based on timelapse with what artists have done.

Slide 9: The overall vision for this project was to make everything seem comfortable and almost easy going. With videos like this, you want it to be simple with very little transitions so they focus on the art.

Slide 10: I think this project was okay because I believe that I could have done better, but by the time I wanna to start over, it was too late. I would want to start this over completely too.

Slide 11: I chose to revise the Quarter 3 project. The only thing I wanted to change was a video in the project because I thought something else would look better.

Slide 12: I chose this project because I honestly thought this was the easiest thing to change compared to the others. I had to think about something to draw for the new image and then I recorded myself doing it.

Slide 13: However, with the new video that I wanted to use, it made the video shorter. I wanted to have it to be longer than two minutes, not less.  So in all honest it just looks the same.

Slide 14:During this year, I think that my high point was the image editing project. The reason why is because I just really loved the outcome of the project because it was really my favorite project that I’ve done.

Slide 15:In area growth, I don’t think that I really growed in anything. I feel like I really didn’t improve that much at all. Maybe I improved a little in image editing but that’s it.

Slide 16:I could use image editing in a way to create digital for once. I could potentially make profit off of selling these art pieces for money that could benefit on the side for myself.

Slide 17:In all honesty, I thought of a project for image editing where you create an image that tells a story about yourself and the others have to guess whose it is.

Slide 18:Number one tip is to be on time for the checkpoints. If you don’t turn them in on time, your grade you gradually start to drop, so I would really stress about that to the next class.

Slide 19: Another tip would be to actually put some effort into their project because you can turn the checkpoint in on time but if your final project is trash, then don’t expect a perfect grade.

Slide 20: I honestly can’t think of another tip because I feel like the first one was the most important. I feel like that’s really the only thing that matters at this point so just follow the first tip.

Physics Project

We chose to do a cube for our project because at first we were thinking about a project that could be creative and fun.So we chose to do a cube because it’s three dimensional and the cube can have various of lights to make it colorful. Also, the cube could be made out of various of materials,so we can input the bulbs/lights. This cube will be made out of acrylic and will be done in the Maker’s Space.
-Brandon R. and Nydirah T.

Reflecting on our project it was fun figuring out ways to make a cube. But it was difficult figuring out how to make the lights lit. It was also difficult trying to make the acrylic in the Maker's Space , but at the end of the day we got it done.

The Electrik Artz: By Victor & Denali

Artists Statement:

Victor: This Sculpture represents us and SLA in many different ways. With its 3 floors and a rocket which represents us, The Rockets, it includes legos which also represents the stubborn people from SLA. We originally decided to us a rocket and cut holes on it for the lights, but it wouldn't be a rocket so we asked, "Why not make the whole SLA building where we can use the 2nd floor to hold our rocket?" This sculpture not only says that I am from SLA, it also says that I live in a community.

If you are wondering:

This is a parallel circuit which is why it is shining so bright.

Amani & Nair Electric Basketball

My partner Amani and I have chose a basketball as our object to light up.  Playing
basketball has been something we’ve been younger. For Nair it was the age of 2 and for me it's the age of 5.We chose a basketball because we both play basketball on a daily basis. Basketball has been something that takes away stress and any emotion we feel like we can’t express through words. We both have a love for the game and we both think it's entertaining to do. What the sculpture says about us is how bright a basketball, can make our day brighten up without anybody else having to do so. My love for basketball is crazy like it's my go to when I'm down and I need something to cheer me up. There’s not enough words or love we have for the game of basketball.

Q4 Benchmark "BN Glasses" by Nateerah and Bella

For our Q4 Benchmark in physics we are planning to light up a pair of sunglasses. We decided to do Sunglasses because we use glasses in our everyday life. Especially when the sun is out. This invention is called the “BN Glasses”. It gives us the ability to use these glasses anywhere at anytime. At night you wear them and the 4 lights in the side light up! Cool right? I guess so,  All you simply have to do is make sure the wires connect to the battery on the glasses. It’s kind of complicated but it’s a cool way to learn how to light up bulbs.

The reason I choose to make my sculpture is quite sad when you think about it. The very first pair of glasses I got was just the beginning of it all. I broke them because they fell from my face to the floor, and then in pieces. If I were to explain how I broke every pair of glasses we would be here awhile, so instead, I’ll just wrap it up and say my most significant pair that broke. On a fine early day of school, my friends and I were walking down a street. When one of them came across a punch buggy, she punched me in the arm, nothing bad about a little punch. A few seconds later an acquaintance of mine turns around for a punch, this eventually led to my glasses being broken, that would be the 5th pair of glasses I've broken. So that I why I choose glasses. A nice, sad significance.

We choose an iPhone because it's something we use in our everyday life. We also us iPhones as a light we can't see things so making an iPhone with lights around it was really use full. Another reason we selected to build an iPhone is because it's how we connect. We take pictures to send to each other

I chose the DNA double helix because it shows the most interesting part of me. I was inspired by my favorite biologist, Francis Crick, who along with James Watson Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin had discovered DNA, and my favorite artist, Spencer Shay from ICarly. As a kid I found Deoxyribonucleic acid, DNA, the coolest thing in the world because it allowed organisms to develop, survive, and reproduce without having worries. If I wasn't introduced to the double helix as a child, I might have never wanted to learn more and more about science! Anyways, I love science, and I can't say that enough! Science showed me how photosynthesis works all the way up to the genetic makeup of a horse and all the way up to the voltage of an object, and it keeps going. Science even opened a door to understanding math easier, and this all happened because I took the time as a kid to understand what DNA was.

I chose these books because they’re one of my favorites. They were the books that got me into reading. I remember borrowing one from my middle school library and just reading it wherever I went. When I was done with it, I was so sad. So I checked it out so that way, no one could read it. I would be able to read over and over again if I wanted too. Eventually, I had to give it away and I started reading the second book. Then on Christmas, my grandmother gave me the books for Christmas. I was so excited. I loved it. Now I could read them any day I want too.
