Quarter 2 Project Statement

The purpose behind my project was to create a simple game using simple coding. While doing this project I hoped to learn how to create a game for the computer and to learn a beginner level of coding. I learned both of those things during the time that I worked on the project for Quarter 2. I think that the project was very successful because it showed my advancements in coding during my short time at this school

Tech Project

The purpose behind the project:
I created this project because I wanted to learn how to create an art using the technology. I was successful in creating my art but I found it very easy to do it using my computer because I was able to create a slide show and showcase it with music and titles, and edit it the way I want my viewers to see. I had hoped to learn how to use technology not only creating arts but also other things that can be easier for me to make and also the viewers that want to see clips, can find them in one place and not separate. I felt this project was a success but also informative for me because I learned technology is much easier for showcasing arts. I learned how to put all the arts together and edit and make it the way I want to showcase it.

ENJOY............!!!!!!!

I choose this picture for many reasons. This is a picture of a boy using a computer. It is copyright free and is a amazing picture. The message I am trying to convey is that the internet is not given to everyone; therefore it is not a right but a responsibility. Not everyone gets to use the internet but the ones who do should be responsible when using the internet.

I chose this picture because it shows a girl crying on her knees.  This could be her reaction to sending something online that she did not mean, and she can't take back. This may have ended up ruining her reputation or even her life.  This could also happen the other way around.  She could have received something that was really upsetting by someone who did not think before they sent it.  She may now be feeling really sad or even depressed.

Trust is something that is worth protecting and cannot be taken advantage of. Trusting someone takes commitment and honesty. Without those thing you really can't trust people. This picture means to me that we all have to trust at one point, but we have to pick the right people to trust.

Hurtful things you do behind a screen travel beyond it.

The image I chose represents something that can be a result of cyber-bullying. Cyber-bullying can have many effects on the victim of it. Some of the effects include long-term depression and low self-esteem. Those effects may lead up to the suicide of the victim of the cyber-bullying. The suicide that the victim executed would be, en-turn, your fault since you were the one who bullied them enough to drive them to make that decision. Suicide is something that is on the minds of those who are and are not being bullied. You don't want to cause that death would you. The blood of the victim would be on your hands and there is no way you could ever get there lives back. So the message I am trying to convey with this image is that with every hurtful word that you type to someone they most likely will take what you said to heart and cause them to feel dejected. Then that feeling of dejection might lead them to make drastic decisions regarding their lives. So don't say or do mean things over the internet please, unless you want to trow away their life in which is being held in your hands.

I chose this image because I feel like this is something my audience can relate to while I explain the moral. I also, picked this image becuase Elvis was somebody who was assumed to be happy since he was wealthy and a celebrity but tthis may have not been true behind close doors. Simply, I picked this image because of the way it caught my eye compared to all other images related to my moral, and because his smile was sort of a sly it wasn't really conveincing that he was happy. Lastly, I chose this because Elvis wasn't such a great man he talent honored but he was disrespectful to blacks who may have pretended to be happy to meet him.

I chose this picture because I know that there are many people, especially young people, in the US who experience cyberbullying in some way, in fact about fifty-two percent of young people in the US experience cyberbullying. The picture is showing prescribed drugs obviously, but this has a deeper meaning, many people turn to drugs after being cyber bullied, whether this be to escape the feelings they are having, or to do things to harm themselves, or even go as far as to commit suicide.

I chose this picture because it shows the different identities that digital citizens can possess. The are different people behind the screen of a computer screen and although this could make people more open to the public, it can also have a negative impact. There is no guarantee that the person that is displayed online is the same person that is behind the screen. There are always risk.

I choose this picture because in my opinion the boy is alone. He is by himself and distance. When we read the book there was many stories about kids/teens being bullied and i noticed that when people are being bullied they distance themselves. One of the stories was when a group of students was video taping other students. Other kids watched the video and this made the students who were being taped hurt.

I picked this picture because gossip is just as bad as cyber bullying. People think that it's okay to tell others their friend's secret to have a good laugh and think it's okay even though it's not. You wouldn't want people to expose your secret to others so don't expose their secrets. You don't know what people go through on a daily basis so just stop. Don't be a victim of gossip and don't make others victims also.

I chose this image because it symbolizes that stains can be for a good reason. The people in this photo are celebrating the Hoil Festival. The message I'm trying to convey is that its better to make a positive impact on social media then a negative one. People will see you by what you do online. The impression you make on the online community will stay there forever, make it a good one.

How this picture relates to the book is that the quote says "You can't based a reputation based on what you're going to do." meaning that you have to actually do it, not say you will and expect a reputation. The only reputation you'll get is someone who never keeps their word and/or lives up to what they say they'll do. Like how in the book when Nicole sent that video totally dissing Asians, she apologized saying she will be a better person, but until she shows how she is being a better person, she will forever be thought of as mean and racist.

I feel as if the quote "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is very appropriate. When I was looking at quotes I seen this and thought about they cyber bullying like what doesn't kill you makes you weaker because the words hurt.  I feel as if I connected with this the most because I was cyberbullied when I was younger but now I know I can't let things bother me. Also to connect this with my idol Lana Del Rey means a lot to me. I want people to know that words to get to people and how they feel about things and how they react to situations

A Picture Worth a Thousand Words

There are multiple reasons why I chose this image. One reason why I chose it is because this picture really is worth 1000 words. It shows great power and is states its topic very clearly. I think if anyone were to see this image they'd know right away that this is an image of cyber-bullying. Don't be a victim of it!

"Be yourself because everyone else is taken."

I chose to pick this picture because i'm trying to show how teenagers try to fit in. When they try to fit in its usually with the wrong crowd. .The idea that some people are born to be leaders is true. You should always trying to be yourself because if they really want to be your friend they will except you for you. You can lead in different ways. To be a leader, you don't have to be loud, but you can quietly set an example, pave a new path. In our discussion we talked about how on social media people tend to act different behind the keyboard to seem "cool".

A Picture Is worth 1000 words By: Haniah Jones

This picture connects to me because i don’t like when people are bullied, or when people are bullies. My 5 words are :people believe what you tell them” because this girl has been told that she was overweight and people are negatively influencing her to believe what they want her to believe. In tech class bullying and cyber bullying was one of our discussions.

Stop Cyberbullying

Untitled presentation (1)
Untitled presentation (1)
I chose this image because bullied victims are 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non victims according to the studies at Yale University.  10 to 14 year old may be at a even higher risk of suicide according to study in Britain. According to statistics from ABC news, nearly 30% of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school everyday in fear of bullying. Cyber bullying can occur at any time and can be distributed to a wide audience very quickly. Stopping cyber bullying will reduce the death rate of a lot of teenagers.

A picture is worth a thousand words

My picture states that you should never let the internet control you. I know your like "well how can the internet control me"? When I say that I mean, it can control you by influencing you to post things that you wouldn't want someone to post about you. For example in the book, the girl posted a mean status about a culture that was really rude.I know if a person of that culture posted something about her that was mean she wouldn't like it. So, don't let the internet control you.

A picture is worth a thousand words

The picture I choose is supposed to represent us as teens in Philadelphia being discriminated against by our elders and people in society. We are automatically referred to as delinquents by elders and are assumed to be worthless teens
with no future, heading to prison. Because so many of us have been told this, we wear a
mask to cover up our true potential, to fulfill society’s expectations about us. We give into
stereotypes and become another proven statistic. We wear a mask hiding our intelligence,
talents and superior abilities just to fulfill society predictions for us. In school we are deprived of our education “the school to-prison pipeline is an epidemic that is afflicts teens in our city. Students are often suspended, expelled or even arrested for minor offenses. Students who are forced out of school for disruptive behavior are usually sent back to the cause of their anger and pain which are their home environments or their neighborhoods. These places are contained with negative influence. Those students who are forced into prison for minor offenses that really should just be a detention can now forget about their future. In our city rarely will you here about us receiving awards, or achievements. Rarely will you ever here that your former classmates are doctors, lawyers, engineers, that they actually became successful. I'm more likely to here that they ended up in jail, chained behind bars and vulnerable to society. When I here about a few of my former classmates who won academically achieving awards I am surprised more so than when I found it half of them already of a prison record now following them for the rest of their lives. School now a days hasn't even became a place where students learn. If we were actually founded properly and giving the right tools to actually develop knowledge students would want to be successful in school. If we don't feel as though no one else cares, why should we. Most schools don't even have funding for laptops and computers, Technology has become an outbreak for the future. How are we supposed to be successful in life if we can't don't even have the proper utensils that are pretty much mandatory for future triumph. Bound from success, deprived of our education, we fail.

We wear the mask....
This picture comes from a quote of a poem that I have read in English this year. "we wear the mask that grins and lies". I chose this picture because it describes something that often happens online. People hide behind a mask online to portray something they are not. Our whole unit in English was about defining our selves. Throughout tech we often wondered if we are a a good online citizen .

In this picture I think back to the young girl in college who thought talking about the Asian people in her school library would be funny to share with some of her classmates. When the video went viral and she began receiving horrible messages from people all over after viewing her video she dropped out of college. She did not think before acting and she experienced how you might think something is funny and then it could come back to hurt you. Think about what your saying or doing before sharing it and making it permanent forever.

Which country has the most spamming problems?

In this picture it shows a bar graph of most countries that experience spamming abuse. Out of all of the countries America has the most. I can see why because spamming is well known in america, people experience it all the time, they joke around about through email and text message. There are also Ads that constantly pop up. Things that talk about pregnancy, weight loss, tattoo removal, buy movies, or toys.

Choose & Post Wisely!

These days social media profiles are something many recruiters look into before hiring their employees. However, many people fail to understand that whatever they may be posting on their social media accounts can impact them in a negative manner. The image I chose represents the message I am trying to convey, which is: keep track of what you do online as it can be harmful to you later on. Many times people want to post pictures of them smoking, drinking, or anything which is negative. However, it can cause a bad impression on the company you are working for and the company does not want to hold a bad reputation. This leads to the person posting those things being fired. Being fired is not something fun and delightful, it can cause financial troubles. So, the message in this picture is that many recruiters, search you on social media platforms before hiring you. They see your previous and current activities on your profile to determine if you are worthy of the job. So, if the recruiter notices something "unsafe" they will not give you the job. Now, this applies to people who are already employed in the company as well. Recruiters often hire people to keep track of your activity on social media platforms, to know if you are causing the company to hold a bad reputation. In addition, even colleges look at your social media profiles before admitting you to their college. In conclusion, your online reputation may cause problems for your future career, so choose and post wisely as nothing is private online.

I choose this picture because it shows a example of what cyber bullying really looks like. Also, because it can spread awareness that stuff like needs to stop before some one else child is ready to hang their self, stab their self, cut their self, and take pills that are not suppose to be taking. Also, I choose this because cyber bullying is important and over half of adolescents and teens have been bullied online before.
