Color Wheel Project

I chose to make this because I wanted to further my understanding and use of colors. I wanted to make the project focused more on the colors than a design so I used up all of my available space. I expect the audience to think that it’s a basic practice color wheel so that I can become a better artist by trying new things and just making things. It fits in with contemporary art because it uses a sorts of colors and looks slick and modern. This fits in with art history because it shows how you need to practice with art as much as possible to be good.

I was influenced by an artist named Jason Polan because he uses very simplistic designs that look intentionally sloppy. Making the piece look sloppy is helpful because it allows me to show that perfect art doesn’t exist and allows me to remember not to get too caught up in making things look perfect. I experimented with intentionally messing up and not fixing it, I found this very helpful and I see myself doing so in the future. I really enjoyed making this color wheel and look forward to using the techniques and colors I learned while making this to help further my future work.

Amanda Todd Story

Amanda Todd was a teenage girl, who lived in Canada. She was talking online with someone she didn't know, and he convinced her to show him herself topless. The picture soon went viral. She was bullied and beating up by classmates, etc. One year she killed herself. Since she decided to share herself with someone she didn't know. Her picture was everywhere for everyone to see. This goes with lack of control because she didn't have control over the guy she was talking to sending the her picture to who ever he sent it to. Also she let a random man convince her to take the picture. It goes with permanence because her video and picture is still on the internet and still talked about. It go with immediacy because her video was viewed on Youtube, over 17 million times. I feel that if Amanda didn't share that picture with that man she would still be here today.

Lone Wolf

What you see before you is a wolf howling. My drawing was inspired by my love for this animal. Wolves are loyal and strong I highly value those two factors about them. Drawing a wolf was the first thing that came to mind when I found out about this project. It was pretty cool painting my drawing in 24 different colors. On my painting which you won’t find on any other there is a streak of red across my painting. That streak represents the anger and aggression in the wolf.

There is Black painted around the painting to give the wolf a final Shine. So all of the colors are made brighter and there is white left on the inside on the Wolf. Now about the red in the drawing it could be the blood of a person or another animal. Since wolves are natural predators. The blood could have come from a number of things. It makes the painting present a deeper story about the wolf and why it’s howling.

In my painting all of the tint colors lead away from the face of the wolf. All of the regular colors are in the front or closer to the face or on the face of the wolf.

color wheel project

I created the flower look for my color wheel because I felt like it fit best with the idea. A flower could have as many petals as I wanted to draw and it was simple. My overall vision for my wheel came out as I pictured it to be which was all of my color attached to my petals with a clear, solid color background so the my petals with color would pop out more. I expect my audience to be just as satisfied with my final product as much as I was. The color wheel project did not so much remind me of past art classes although, the creating and having my own idea did. Knowing each color and mixing them also reminded me of old work while learning these colors in the beginning of the semester.

I got the idea of my overall project from some ideas I seen online of color wheels. I learned while creating my wheel, having a steady hand and being careful with your paint brush plays a role because you don’t want your work to come out sloppy by not being careful or working slow. I learned to be careful, and dedicated to your work by creating my wheel. I also learned that art does not not always have to be perfect but it is dedication in what you put into the work you created.

Color wheel project

Creating this project, I knew my choices and variety of creativity had not limits. Although, I was inspired by the original color wheel, I liked the plane feel of it so my colors could stick out. To give my project my  name I wanted to add some originality to it by adding a solid black background and white splattered paint.. This gave my project an edgy feel.  While working, my routine/technique was to do the primary colors first then work on secondary colors because I knew since I had such a small space for painting I was bound to mess up.

What I learned is to not rush with not only my colors but my outlining with the sharpie.. I feel as though my outlining was quite sloppy and if I could give advice is to do the outlining after you paint your work. When looking at my work I think my peers will see something slightly different and maybe even pretty nice.. If my peers were to give me feedback, I know for a fact that their input would be that my outlining is sloppy, which I agree. Overall doing this project was not only fun but different. I enjoyed creating the colors and using my own perspective of what colors are.

Color Wheel

I created a star because i wanted to stand out from the people in my class and also challenge myself to see what I can do and what i'm capable off. My overall vision for my work was to make a start looking flower or a galaxy type picture. I expect my audience to see how hard i worked on my drawing even though it may not be perfect but to me it's imperfectly perfect. I always showed heart with my work and I always enjoyed what I do and to be able to show people my work brings joy cause i love making art to be able to teach and learn off of other people as well. My work fits into the current contemporary art because all artist start with a color wheel to understand the primary and secondary colors and to see the different colors that mix together. It goes with the history because colors wheels go way back and the most famous artist also use color wheels to help try out the different mix of colors and it helps them make their art seem balanced and well put together to make it come to life. It fits in well with my series of projects because they all represents me and how i express myself and it shows my strength and weaknesses. My artist that really influence me was Frida Kahlo because her art has create meaning in it and you're able to feel what she feels through her paintings and they send really strong messages in just a form of a drawing. Certain techniques that you need to have is to be really gentle with the brushes to make sure it doesn’t look a mess and just take your time and to have a small area where you can test the colors to make sure they are the exact one you want. Taking your time and checking to make sure you have the right color to me is the most important thing during this project. Long story short just have fun with the project and take your time and make it your own not something that everyone does.

Leafyishere

Leafyishere makes sarcastic content on Youtube. He often makes videos that offend people, but one video he posted offended even his biggest fans. This video was about a man who wears a fedora and go's around recording himself. In the video that Leafy was reacting to the man whose youtube name is TommyNC2010. In Leafyś video he makes fun of the man's weight appearance style and personality. He often does this in the other videos he makes but in this one he did not realize that the man in the video was autistic. Leafy quickly took down the video and apologized on his twitter. TommyNC2010 made response video. ⬇

                                                            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24KRxVvQjAo

I think the main aspect that affected Leafyś video was immediacy. Leafy was not thinking when he posted the video and because of this he brought lots of hate on himself. Lack of control was also a big factor in this case because of how much this video blew up, I could not find out how many views Leafyś original video had but the response video that has over 4,000,000 views on Youtube. Permanence does not have too big of an affect on this situation because leafy's apology was accepted. Most people have forgotten about the incident.

There is a real problem with cyber bullying on Youtube that a lot of people think should be stopped. Leafyishere, Pyrocynical and many other Youtubers base their channel on satire content. I like many other people watch Leafy is here and Pyrocynical. I do think that Leafy’s  content is wrong and that some of his videos are a but to harsh but most of them are still funny. On the internet it is nearly impossible not to get bullied or yelled at. I am a frequent user of the internet and i know that something needs to be done about it.

2013 Boston Marathon bombings

This girl dressed up as a victim of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings before coming to work and tweeted about it to the whole world. Attempting to make a joke out of an event that left dozens injured, some fatally, is a guaranteed way to get yourself kicked out of any job.

This women’s choice affected individual's life because she made fun of peoples family, when dressing up as a victim of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. This lady could have really gotten hurt for dressing up that. Immediacy played a role in this because this lady just reminded the people family’s death and how tragic it was. Permanence played a role in this because that post will always be on the internet somewhere and can not be taken down. Lack of control played into the story because this lady thought it was funny to post something like that on the internet, and this is disrespectful to some people.

Think Before You Post

Source of my story :http://puresight.com/Real-Life-Stories/phoebe-prince.html

My story is on this girl named Phoebe. One day she got asked to a school dance by a senior, and she accepted his offer. Some girls got jealous because she was asked by a football senior. They started to cyber bully her and say horrible things to her. So the night before her winter dance she decided to hang herself.

The immediacy in this story is that they kept calling her names on social media and they wouldn't stop. This story permanence is that everything that they said on social media, was still on social media so anyone could see what was going on and agree or even disagree. Finally her lack of control was that their was no way for her to take any of it down because she didn't have control of their messages and she couldn't stop it. The only thing that came to her mind of stopping it was death.

I believe that if I was Phoebe I wouldn't have killed myself because of death. I wouldn't think that that's a way to solve anything, I would of informed an adult that can help me with this situation. If that didn't work I would ask them to stop. And if that didn't work either I would talk to someone who would be able to shut down the whole website. I watched a movie about a girl getting cyber bullied and she attempted to kill herself but luckily her friend stopped her and at the end of the story the people who where bullying her had left her alone after she got help. To me the moral of the story is to not kill yourself because people say rude things because anything that you do people will hate on you, so be yourself and have fun with your life.

Migdalia's Portfolio

My goal was to makes a fully operational website in which I could use for myself even after the assignment was finished. First I worked on my layout on each page with the default that my website engine gave me, in this case, wix. Then I replaced all the image and text that the website provided, with my own. Then changing all the buttons and options to go to the page in which I wanted it to go and lastly changing my background for my website. I did have a hard time because my information wouldn't always save and I had to re-do what I felt was enough, sometimes it didn’t exactly say what I wanted it to say since the beginning. I learned how links and pages work and realized how complicated it was to execute a certain aesthetic that you wanted to complete. I learned that in a website I look for a sleek and clean look so I know what I’m looking for but, if I had to change I would add more context to everything on my page. If anyones going to do this I advice them to constantly save where they are at so that they don’t lose something they worked hard on. This project moving on inspires me to keep it updated. The medium (wix) did not dictate my message because they have so many options I did whatever I wanted.

For this assignment, please find a story about an individual's use of social media (it can be a positive or negative use) and explain the story and the effects that this choice had on the individual's life or the life of others. Also, please explain how Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control played into the story and give the individual advice for their online life.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/woman-behind-boston-marathon-bombing-costume-blasts-critics-article-1.1508156

Alicia Ann Lynch, 22,  dressed for Halloween as a Boston Marathon bombing victim and sparked rage throughout twitter. She says her family has been subjected to death threats and was fired from her job. Lynch’s social media accounts, pulling out nude pics and a partial photo of her driver’s license, which included personal details such as her family’s address in Fairgrove, Mich. After death threats toward her parents and best friend Lynch stated “ She didn’t know what I was doing. My family didn’t know what I was doing. I don’t live with them. And they’re all getting dragged into this for something I did.”. The decision to wear the costume was “wrong,” Lynch said, but she thought it would be OK after she screened the idea with friends. Lynch had a message for her most extreme critics. “What I did may have been wrong, but is it truly right to wish harm upon someone and say that you’re doing it for the victims?” she said. “As being a part of a tragic event I never would ever wish what had happened to me upon someone else, as I can say most people wouldn’t wish death upon someone to ‘make it right.”

Immediacy : As soon as she posted her costume it immediately got negative feedback.

Permanence: After she posted it whether she deleted it or not it was still on the internet from people posting it on their social media.

Lack of control: After she posted it she lost all control of the picture. She couldn’t control the death threats toward her friends and family. She couldn’t control where the picture ended up or the comments.

Advice: Be more considerate of others and be mindful of what you wear and post. Maybe next time you could wear a costume that doesn’t offend others and doesn’t touch on sensitive subject such as the Boston Marathon bombing.

Demi Lovato Drawing Criticism

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3820393/Demi-Lovato-criticizes-fan-s-unrealistic-drawing-breasts-prompting-social-media-user-fire-ungrateful-star-body-shaming-version-illustration.html

This article states the criticism Demi Lovato had from social media after when she look at a drawing from Vladimir Serbanescu, a 17 year old Romanian depicting her as a topless mermaid. Besides giving a “positive” feedback to the artist, she stated that her "boobs" are unrealistic and her boobs are not the way they are and that’s not her body. Her "statement" was frowned upon by social media, calling it a rude statement. Many people did support her about her criticism of the drawing and how it's her body and it's her right to view her body the way she likes to. However the hate she also received was overwhelming. Many people who was against her, talked about her eating disorder also how she should be ashame of herself. Vladimir Serbanescu, the artist, felt ashamed and disappointed from her response. This in which, enrages the media more and abuses Demi Lovato more with insults and criticizing her.

“Immediacy” in Demi Lovato’s case is when she replied about her boobs and her body not looking like that to Vladimir Serbanescu drawing. It was instantly known by many who viewed the picture at that time. This soon got way out of control for Demi. Which leads to “Lack of Control”, it spread like a wildfire throughout the internet with many people screenshotting her response and sending to their friends or their own social media page like Facebook. With more people seeing her response, the hate grew too much for her with insults and abuse from the media. Even when that event was over, lots of people still know about it which goes for “Permanence”. Her wrong use of words caused many people to hate her which affected her a lot for her career and personal life. The advice I would give Demi Lovato, is to be mindful of the words you use. Yes, it’s your body and you have the right to view your body the way it is. However with the internet nowadays and how much hard work done to the drawing by Vladimir Serbanescu. You should give positive feedback next time and think before you post your response.

'Loren Beech' Roasts 'Baby Ariel'

Do you know how much secret hate is bubbling inside of a ‘social media star?’

Loren Beech (@loren) made the brave decision to make a video, impersonating another star that got famous off of the internet ( @BabyAriel.) Did Loren think about what she did before she did what she did?

The two got their fame from an app called “Musical.ly.” In the app you have the ability to lip sync to lyrics from songs or create your own video for others to remake. These two, along with others have started from the bottom and gotten to the top 10 on the app. Ariel Martin (@babyariel) has 14.2 million fans on the app, while Loren has 10.9 million fans on the app. Loren and Ariel are in the top 10, on the daily. They have true fans that will fight for the ‘right person.’ The internet affects everyone’s opinion, so much that you can never figure out who started what. Their fan bases will edit and upload anything possible to get their desired amount of supporters on their side.

In the impersonation, Loren took what she always saw in Ariel’s Musical.ly’s, YouTube videos, and You Now live streams and made a combination of all of them. She opens the video talking about #Zariel, the ship name for Ariel and Zach Clayton (@Bruhitszach.) From there she makes fun of how Ariel doesn’t like to accept compliments for herself from others. Loren ends the video with a small clip of her saying that she “created Ari (@Theylovearii.) But concludes the video mimicking Ariel’s Musical.ly for her outro.

When Loren uploaded one of the many videos she made, she got so much hate and disrespect from Ariel’s fan base that she had to make her account private. After that she wrote an apology that was posted to a couple of her social medias. Loren says that she didn’t have Ariel’s newest number to send a direct apology to her, so she sent a message to Mark Thomas (@duhitzmark) to send to Ariel. But that message was never sent. Loren also claims that she got the idea from a group chat full of friends that she knows. A person in the chat only wanted to start drama so she gave Loren the idea of mocking another famous person. So technically, it wasn’t fully her fault. She still took the blame because she decided to listen to her friend.

In the end Loren’s actions could’ve been solved differently. Loren’s decision involved immediacy, permanence, and lack of control. Immediacy is involved because Loren knew that as soon as she hit the one button that decided the next move, she would never have that permanently gone. Permanence is important because from now on if you type in the right words, videos from that day will pop up with Loren being the main victim. Lack of control plays a part because Loren has/had no control over what she posts on the internet. Loren could’ve done a lot of things differently. The main thing she could’ve done is not listen to her friend in the group chat. She could’ve done that or she could’ve just saved the bad video and not posted it on any social platforms that she has.

In the end, hate can do a whole lot of damage, keep the hate to yourself and don’t make Loren’s mistake.

To Be Extraordinary - My Website Project

Hello, for my Digital Media and Design class I had to make a website explaining who I am and the things I have done. When I first found out I had to do this project I thought it was going to be boring and I did not want to do it. But while I was doing this project and putting some information about me on it, I started to enjoy this project. Now looking back at my completed website I feel good about it. It's cool to look at a website I made about myself that everyone can look at. I think it's kinda neat!
On this website I have five different pages. The first page is the homepage, this page welcomes the viewer to my website. The next page I have is the About Me page. This page gives the viewer a little information about me so they know who's website they are on and what I'm about. The third page is the Things I Have Done page. On this page I tell the viewer what extra activities I am participating in, and I tell them about extra activities I participated in in the past. The fourth page is my Projects page. On this page I tell the viewer about a few projects I have done. And finally, my last page is the Contact Me page. On this page I give my E-Mail so the viewer can contact me if they have any questions or just want to talk to me.
I think the message of this project dictated the medium.  I think this because I would have still written down the same things, and done it the same way, without the website. My message would have always been the same. The message, or purpose, of this website is to give the viewer a little information about me and who I am.

Q1 Project: Website Design

Screenshot 2016-11-02 at 8.31.02 AM
Screenshot 2016-11-02 at 8.31.02 AM

On my website you are going to see some part of life. I was to make a website to showcase myself. There is five pages. The home page, About me page, Resume page, My work page, and the contact page. My goals was to finish the website and show a part of life that I feel that is interesting.

The process of completing my website was first by looking for a website builder. Next picking a theme and thinking of what I want to showcase about myself. Then I had to step up the website the way I like it. It was difficult because I had to play around with the website and decide what fit best to my liking. Finally I had picked what theme I like and I started to type in.

I had some trouble competing this website because every time I would do something on the website it would delete and the reason for that was because I didn’t save it every time I did something new.I didn’t realize that I had to save.

What I actually ended up learning while completing this project was that it’s hard creating a website and coming up with ideas of what to say. It’s takes a while to be sacrificed with your website. I ended up changing things over and over because I didn’t like it. I feel like I really didn't learn anything new about myself but I learned how to make a website.

If I were to do this project over again I would add more things and change the theme, make it a little more interesting to the viewers.

If you were to get to do this project make it interesting and bright.

For this project my message is dedicated to my medium.

Asmar Beyah

  • A (brief) description of your project and project goals, including what you hoped to learn through completing the project.

In this Project, I had to create a website that was mainly about my academic and personal life. There were pages that including information about me, a page about my academic career, a project that I completed, and a contact page so people can contact me if they have any problems.

  • A (brief) description of the process you went through to complete the project.

I had to complete several checkpoints. They were made to complete the project the project at a good pace and help you check for any errors.

  • Any successes and/or failures you encountered. If you describe a failure, explain how you overcame or worked around that failure.

Success: Completed the entire website quickly so I can go back and fix any errors.

Failure: I had some grammatical error that were noticed by one of my peers.

  • What you actually ended up learning through the completion of the project.

Nothing

  • What you learned about yourself through the completion of the project.

Nothing, everything that was presented was information I already knew.

  • How you would do this project differently if you were to do it all over again.

I wouldn’t do anything different.

  • Any tips or hints for others attempting this project.

Just pace yourself

  • What this project inspired you to do next.

Nothing.

  • Proper citations for any work that is not yours

  • In this project, did the message dictate the medium or did the medium dictate the message?

The medium dictate the message because the portfolio that I provided was a big part of my website.

Quarter 1 Project

Project Statement

I made my website using Wix.  It was a website I have not used before and I wanted to try it out.  Personally I am not the greatest when it comes to creating your own website so in the beginning it was hard.  After some exploring of weebly got the hang of things.  Something I hoped to learn was how to actually make a website presentable for people viewing it.

To complete this project, I first made an outline of what I want my website to look like.  Then I picked out the website I wanted to use.  Completing this website was a bit hard for me.  Trying to find the right layout and put all my information was difficult.  I could not really tell how the website worked.  After trying a few times I finally got it.

A failure I encountered was my whole website got deleted.  I think I forgot to save it one time and when I logged in it wasn’t there.  This gave me a chance to make my website better because the layout I had before was a bit confusing.  In that sense it was also a success.

Something I learned and got out of this project is how to make websites.  I learned how to organize them and make them appealing to look at.  I learned to taking your time with this is a good idea to make sure it turns out well.

Something I learned about myself is that I enjoy making websites once I get the hang of it.  I like personalizing it and making it your own.  Something I would do differently if I had to do it again would be not using a blog layout the first time.  It is too hard to work with.  You can’t switch pages on that one and it was confusing.  A tip for people doing this project is take your time and don’t use a blog layout unless you're making a blog.

I am not sure if this project has inspired me to do anything next.  But doing this project has given me ideas for what to do if I want to put something out there, I will just make a website!  All the pictures in my website are mine so I don’t need to do proper citation.  I feel the medium dictated my project.  I used Wix to make my website.  I feel like I just went along with what Wix had to offer and made it my own.  Overall I am happy with how my project turned out.

color wheel artist statement

Artist statement

I created a star even though it is not exactly a star because i think stars are pretty and simplistic. The object of the project was to see how colors mixed and see how three primary colors blue red and yellow could mix into many different colors. I used the color white in the center of my art piece because that's how all the colors started from white and you cannot make white with any colors like you can with black. My vision for the star is believe in yourself because you are a star. I expect that they will like how all my colors connect and go with each other. This project is very different from the previous projects because now we used colors and not shading. I think it fits in because i used many colors to create this. My work fits in with the history of art practice because the color wheel was used to practice on how to mix colors. I used google to look up different color wheels and shapes. I haven't been really influenced by anyone except any street artist because i like how they express themselves and i don't like how people criticize their work. I feel like this piece is the start of every art piece with color. A good technique i used for this was that i made sure i used the proper amount of color every time. This art project taught me how to create different colors with only three primary colors and i think it was beneficial because it helps with upcoming projects with color.

Be Conscious, Think Before you Post!

A 20 year old girl name Erika Escalante, who lives in Arizona was fired from her internship after posting a racist tweet that quickly went viral. She posted photos on Twitter of her and a friend in a cotton field. She wrote this on the caption “Our inner n----- came out today." using the slang word for Negro. This is offensive to the black community. She posted a picture that shows her friend and her picking cotton and smiling. There is nothing wrong with that. What was wrong was what she said. She made fun of this by relating it to the Black slaves. The slaves worked hours in the cotton fields and were brutally treated. Many people were offended on the media. Erika had lack of control. She wasn't in control of the things she posted. She wasn't hurt by this she thought is was funny so she posted it.  Immediacy is how fast people saw and how they responded to it. The photos spread on the media.  Permanency was how she tried to delete the tweet. But people already shared it and save it. She was fired from her job, many people talked bad about her, called her a racist. It will be hard for her to get another job. She said she was sorry and it was a mistake. My advice to Erika is for her to be aware before posting. She should know that anything that is mocking or not true about someone shouldn't be on the internet.

Color wheel

I have created this piece of art because I didn’t want to make a wheel like everybody else. I wanted to create something unique. My overall vision for my work is was to make the captain american shield but it wasn't coming out correctly so I just decided to make 5 circles with stars in them to separate the colors. What I expect from my audience is complements and also things that they think I need to work on. The way the audience will react is confused at first because they're going to try and figure out what I did and it’s probably gonna take them a while. My current work relates to previous work because I put my knowledge together of things I’ve learned in the past art classes to make the shapes I did and paint . Also I used my understanding of how to mix colors to complete my work. I think my work fits into the current contemporary art of creating my own color wheel my way. My work fits in with the history of art practice because if you look at my work and look at someones who had more practice than me you will see my process of practicing the color wheel. My work fits into groups of exhibitions, or series of projects I have done because knowing how to mix colors and draw the things that needed to be drawn helped me accomplish my goal of this project. Sources for the inspiration of my image were the avengers one of their protagonist Captain America. I was going to do he’s shield. I guess you can say that my works relates to other artists work because every artist starts with an idea works on it for a while but see things they don’t like and decide to change their idea or improve it so it can be better. Like myself I was going to just do a circular shape and add lines in the inside but I did not like it so I changed it and made my work better. This work fits into series or longer body of work because everything starts of small to be greater. Certain techniques are important to the work because that’s what helps the work be better, not just average. A new technique I learned was not to but a lots of paint on the plate to create a new one just with a drop of the paint it’s good enough to create a new one.

My Blog is about a Youtuber Named Keemstar who was on this channel called DramaAlert. This whole event started when he became more popular and started being a cyberbully “manipulator” and it drew attention to him.A group of other youtubers started making videos on him exposing some crazy obnoxious stuff that he’s done including DOX threats, actual threats, false pedo allegations, trying to sue people, exposing other youtubers personal information and last but not least SWATING.

Many videos have been made on him exposing the stuff he’s done. There are videos of him insulting black people and their culture that was EXTREMELY bad.Keemstar has made several false pedo allegations against a whole bunch of different people. He has accused two youtubers and a 63 year old streamer of being pedofiles who were completely incocent.Bashurverse and Tobuscus were the two youtubers had mental breakdowns.

A youtuber of the name Pyrocynical tried to help out another youtuber by making a video on the video Keemstar made on Tobuscus that was about his Pedo allegations that basicly ruined Tobuscus’s whole career.Keemstar then comes at Pyro him with slander, showing private information, and then just randomly threw out some false pedo allegations because he couldn’t come back with anything else.

Most of the youtubers tried to remove him from youtube because of all the stuff that he’s done to annoy and harm other youtubers but he just wouldn’t leave so they got lots of people to unsub from him and sub to another news channel called Scarce. This sort of worked but he was still around.

Since Keemstar has been ruining people youtube careers, offline lives, and literally trying to sue people for just making a video on him,he’s also ruined his own, his Drama Alert career has been ruined along with his reputation on almost every social media website.

Q1 Project: Website Design

The project I have made was a website that would talk about me and the two projects I did. The project that I have attempted to do was an electricity project that requires that we have to add lights to something that was meaningful. I gained to learn more about electricity and circuits. Another project I showcased was a spanish restaurant project. I was working on the design part of the project where I designed the top of the restaurant. I learned the business of making a project.

The project took a relatively long time. Or at least it felt like it. The process of completing the checkpoints we were given were easy and all, but the amount of time we were given made it seem longer. I took pictures that I had recently of myself and projects that I liked and remembered and created the website.

The success that I encountered was the making of my website. By that I meant  making look appealing and interesting. I failed to follow the way my outline of my website looked like. But I did do my best to match what it would look like. Some images were also hard to upload on to the website.

What I actually ended up learning in the project was how to launch an appealing and organized website.

What I learned about myself when I was trying to complete this project was the amount of accomplishments that I’ve done in my life so far.

If I were to do this project differently, I would choose two different and more project for the project section. And I would add much more drawings too.

I do not have any hints or tips to tell you about making this project accept asking yourself what would you honestly want to see in a website.

This project inspired me to get started on the next Multi Media and Design project.

Q1 Website Project

  • A (brief) description of your project and project goals, including what you hoped to learn through completing the project.

    • My main project goal was to make a portfolio of my work. Also along with that I put my résumé and a page about me to further my website’s visitors of me. Something that I learned hoped to learn by completing this project was how to build a good website. Which did happen.

  • A (brief) description of the process you went through to complete the project.

    • First, I had to choose a medium to make my website. At first, I chose Wix, but after some technical difficulties I switched to Weebly. Then, I went through and completed my checkpoints one by one and completing my home, résumé, about me, and projects pages.

  • Any successes and/or failures you encountered. If you describe a failure, explain how you overcame or worked around that failure.

    • I encountered a failure when I tried to use Wix and I couldn't work it. I overcame that failure by switching to Weebly.

  • What you actually ended up learning through the completion of the project.

    • I learned that I should stick to what I know.

  • What you learned about yourself through the completion of the project.

    • I didn't really learn anything new about me.

  • How you would do this project differently if you were to do it all over again.

    • I would start with using Weebly because I’ve used it before, and it works well. My project would’ve been, so much better.

  • Any tips or hints for others attempting this project.

    • Use what you know best, and if you don't know how to use any of them use what seems easiest.

  • What this project inspired you to do next.

    • It inspires me to do it again, but to a higher level than I did before.

  • Proper citations for any work that is not yours

    • All of my work was original.
  • In this project, did the message dictate the medium or did the medium dictate the message?

    • The medium dictates the message because I have to showcase my portfolio through the website.

Be Concious, Think Before You Post

In the article "Kenneth Cole's #Cario Tweet Angers the Internet" it entails the story of an insensitive and innapropriate text posted by Kenneth Cole about the protest occurring in Egypt at the time. The tweet posted states "Millions are in uproar in #Cairo. Rumor is they heard our new spring collection is now available at http://bit.ly/KCairo -KC". This tweet was not found as humorous or accepted by the community. The tweet takes lightly of Egypt's situation at the time and uses their suffering in a comical way in an attempt to sell their merchandise and self-promote. This tweet produced a negative feeback toward Kenneth Cole putting him in an unsightly view and causing a multitude of hate from a variety of communities and people within those communities. The fact that post can be uploaded to whatever intended site and be viewed immeadiatly which allows things to spread fast and vastly causing an eruption of hate to come about from the tweet. Also due to permanency of the internet the post will forever be available for people to view and remembered by those who have seen it. Thirdly due to lack of control the tweet could be shared and reposted making the complete deletion of it from the web nearly impossible to take down. Even though the tweet was later removed it doesn't erase peoples memories of the occurrance of the incident. If I were to give him advice about what to post on the internet in my opinion I'd tell him to rethink and revise what he is about to post especially when it is addresing a controversial topic. Also I'd advise him to have at least one other person opinionate and express their thoughts about the tweet. Those are my final thoughts on the topic "Kenneth Cole's #Cario Tweet Angers the Internet" and how immediacy, permanency and lack of control play a role in this story and some advice I'd give Kenneth Cole for future posting.

Color wheel project

Cyrus Foster

Art

       Artist Statement

I chose to draw what I did after looking through a few examples. I was going to draw a circle at first but I wanted to do something more complicated. I have a dog/wolf character I draw and I thought the many colors of the color wheel would look nice with it. The character is drawn in 3-D so I planned to color the main parts with the color wheel and color the shaded parts black. I made it in a way that you wouldn’t exactly relate the coloring to the color wheel unless you’re really thinking about it. I wanted the drawing to look like it’s naturally colored so the color wheel won't be forced into the picture.

My current work is very similar to all of my other work. I am well known in the local street art community for my character that I drew. I notice that in the current times street art is becoming very recognized and well known. The type of street art I focus on tends to take a basic character and exaggerated it with emotions, actions, and colors in many different ways. The color wheel was made and used to help artists with colors. Many of my pieces consists of the same character in different settings showing different emotions and colors. I was basically inspired by myself to draw this picture the way I did.

The main focus was to color the character in with the color wheel and leave the 3-D parts for the black. I bolded the outline to make it stand out and I did the background red and black and left the middle white to contrast.
