My website

My project was the history of gaming and I also like gaming so I thought that I would mix it with my history so far. I hope that people will come to my site that it. Something that I learned while going through the process of making my website is how to link and give credit to those whose work that I have used to show certain some history of how gaming came to be. I started off my site by giving little information about  myself which could lead people to want to know about me and after that, I started to give some facts about why people play games. During the process of my project, I noticed that in some areas I may have seen that I made little mistakes such as not spelling some words right and not upper casing my I and little things like that. Also, I encountered that some things like having to get rid of things that I liked to better inform people about me ,but I think that it was worth it. One thing that I ended up learning was that I have to make it clear for whoever may be visiting my site what I am trying to show when they see the home page so for me my topic was gaming so at the start I showed using an image that it is going to be about games. I learned that it is ok for me to talk about things that other people have a similar interest in. So something I thought about while doing this project is that I would change it but why it's because there are some things that I wanted to add but either didn't have enough spaces or disregarded what I was thinking. If you are going to make a website I think that your should really plan out on what you're going to do because if you don't and you go in and try to do some things but then change your mind you may have to either start over or take some stuff out. Well, the thing that gave me the idea is the fact that I love playing games and I thought to myself what if I just make it about games because I enjoy games and so do most other people. For citation, I gave all credit where it was due for both the videos.

For this project I used the site WIX.COM to make a website. I used this website because I loved the formatting and background of it. I was able to have moving backgrounds for each page. I used my time wisely and I worked better home where I could stay focused. While completing it I was hoping could learn how to use my time wisely, and also put together information that could benefit me in my future life. Since I had a long page to to scroll down I had to re organize it into pages so that people would not be just scrolling down the project the whole way. I had taken my time to revise and edit the pages so that they can look nice. I ended up learning how to create and start over from failure without having extra time and finishing it by the deadline. If I did this project over I would have made the pages separate and write down what I wanted to put on each page so that I can just put up what I wrote down on the paper. A tip would to be to plan what you want on the different pages because it could save you a lot of time. This project inspire me to advertise out to people who had an interest in making a website and that think it is hard because if you just take your time to plan out everything it will take no longer that 3 days. The mediate dedicated the message.

Website Design

This website that I created was made to let people know a little bit more about me. It took me about 2 weeks to create and I enjoyed making it. I'm not very artistic, so creating a design was a struggle for me but I still came up with something. Hopefully after someone goes onto my page they'll learn something about me and it will inspire them to make a website as well.

Well my project is about my whole life for example it had my resume page and had an about me page and a project page. my goal is to get an A and I learned a lot about website design. I had a good process but I got behind because of my absence. I had neither. I learned how to design a website and what it should look like and shouldn’t look like. I learned that I actually like going on trips then I thought Just be more focused and on task and be creative and neat. This project inspired me to go back and take some better photos and do ziplining again. I was dictating the medium because I choose how the background would look by the words on the website.

My Website for Media and Design

In my project, I created a website that basically talks a little about me and  my life. My hope was to create a nice looking website and I did create that. In order to complete my project, I had to make an account for Weebly so I could make the website. After that, I started building my website with the pages that we had to have (home, about me, resume, and project). I completed the project with only one “half” failure. When I was trying to upload my resume onto the website, it was taking too long to load but I waited till it eventually uploaded. I learned how to make a website, something I didn’t do before. I have wondered how website were created and I didn’t think it was this easy.I learned that I could do something I never did before and that was create a website. I didn’t think I would have to create a website, but I did. If I were to do this project over again, I would chose a different background for the website and I would be more descriptive on the pages. Some tips would be to take your time when building your site, make sure that all your pages are finished, and proofread the pages. I chose my theme first and wrote on the different pages. My theme didn’t change when I wrote on the pages. This project inspired me used perhaps make another website that I could use in the future for professional purpose.

Russian teens harm animals on video

In this article, a Russian teenage girl films herself killing animals with her friend, and puts the videos on social media. Along with posting these horrible videos, she also said online that she planned on killing her mother. Supposedly, they adopted animals no one wanted and swore to take care of the animals, but instead they filmed themselves murdering innocent animals to post the videos online. In result to the videos becoming viral across multiple social media outlets, the two teenagers were arrested.

The choices they made will forever haunt those girls; if they aren't in prison their names and faces will forever to be tied to slaughtering animals, which links into the seriousness of how permanence plays into whatever you post online. In relation to immediacy one instagram picture seems to be from this month, (I had to guess, I couldn’t translate the date.) Which is a great example of how fast it takes for a single social media post to blow up. As for lack of control, I don’t think these girls even thought of that. Surly they were aware that anyone could see what they posted, the one girl’s instagram wasn’t even on private. Most likely they didn’t think it through, or maybe they didn't understand how serious the situation was.

The only advice I could give to these girls is the following; If you are feeling that emotionally unstable then you need to get help. Talk to an adult, get a therapist, find a positive outlet that doesn’t hurt anyone/anything. Instead of creating such a negative image for yourself, do something amazing. Although my  advice might not be helpful because of how serious this case is,  I still really believe that more people should strive to be an amazing person.

Q1 Tech Project

Article:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3689780/Playboy-model-Dani-Mathers-sparks-furious-backlash-body-shaming-naked-woman-Snapchat.html

Headline of Article:

‘If I can't unsee this then you can't either!' Playboy model Dani Mathers sparks a huge backlash after body shaming a naked woman in the gym showers on Snapchat.

Model Dani Mathers body shamed a woman taking a shower at the gym and put pictures of her doing so on Snapchat and captioned them “If I can’t unsee this, you can’t either”. Apparently, the photos she took body shaming the women were supposed to be used in a private conversation and shared with one person. After she posted the pictures to her thousands of followers, she was called out for body shaming and sued by the woman she body shamed. She immediately apologized for her actions after being bashed on social media by millions of people.

Her actions have had a major impact on her reputation and how people see her as a person. People that have not known her before this incident have had a horrible first impression about her. The story and the images are still circulating around the internet and she cannot remove them because the pictures have been screenshotted, saved, reposted, and shared around the globe. This has to deal with lack of control, when you post something, you have to be mindful what you post because it can be shared in an instant and you cannot control what happens to your post and what people do with it. It technically will never be deleted.

When she posted those pictures to social media, she couldn’t undo it. This has to deal with permanence. What she posted would never be erased and whatever she did on the internet is permanent and will circulate around on the web forever.

People started sharing, reposting ,and screenshotting the photos that the model took immediately after she shared those pictures. This is how the person she took the photos of eventually found out about the photos that were taken of her. This has to deal with Immediacy . Immediately after you post something, people are already viewing it and sharing it with others.

My advice for what Dani Mathers on what she should have done during that situation would be that she could’ve kept her thoughts to herself. It was not necessary for her to put her negative thoughts about another person on social media. Especially if it’s negative or hurtful because that can lower people’s self confidence and cause them to harm themselves.

The Story of Justine Sacco

There are a lot of occurring internet controversy when it come to posting on social media, especially when in the hands of teenagers. Due to the lack of control when posting, teenagers tend to post offensive self-opinions and highly inappropriate content that goes beyond restrictive internet policies.  However, it is not only teenagers posting irresponsibly. Sometimes even adults go past restricted limitations of internet usage.

In the story of women named Justine Sacco who is thirty years old, Justine herself, supposedly tweeted out a racist comment that stated the following: “Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get aids. Just kidding. I’m white!”.  This caused a never ending stream of hatred by offended people to rise against her. The hate that came with the comment lead up to Justine potentially losing her job as a senior director of corporate communications at IAC. Not only did this tweet offended people, there were numerous other tweets from her that affected both her reputation and career.

After the immediacy of her comment took effect on being spread all around social media, Justine’s friend, Hannah, was suffering from the lack of control as hashtags and retweets started being were posted nonstop. Lack of control gave Hannah the inability to delete the racist comments. And finally, permanece ensured that the tweet would never simply go away, Which meant that it was too late for Justine.

It was too late for her to regain her reputation and career from what she had incoherently tweeted. To ensure that something similar to this never occurs again I would her advice that mainly consisted online life behaviors. My advice would be: Give the thought of how others might feel before posting, because life is also lived through the internet.

#MyNYPD

In 2014 the New York Police Department wanted to have some good publicity, so they went on their twitter, @NYPDnews, and posted a tweet,  “Do you have a photo w/ a member of the NYPD? Tweet us and tag it #MyNYPD. It may be featured on our facebook.” They wanted people to post pictures of them with someone from the police department. The intentions the department had went really bad. People started to post negative pictures of the NYPD. In some of the pictures that were posted, the police were pulling hair, hitting people with the batons, choking people and even running them over. If the police all over would do more positive things with the community maybe people wouldn’t look at them as abusers. If you want to have people post pictures make sure you have more positive than negative.

Think Before you Post

Think Before You Post

By: Adam Dublin

Jessica Logan,an 18 year old senior from Sycamore High school sent nudes to her boyfriend, but the photos were sent to hundreds of teenagers in at least seven Cincinnati area schools after they broke up.The bullying continued throughout  all types of social media such as Myspace Facebook and text messaging. She then committed suicide by hanging herself after attending the funeral of another kid who had recently committed suicide.

Lack of control is theme of the story because as soon as she sended those nude explicit pictures to her boyfriend she had no control over what he did with them, whether or not he sent them to others or anything else she had no control over what he could or would do with those images. She should have thought more deeply about who she sent her personal photos to or who she could trust with those photos.

https://nobullying.com/six-unforgettable-cyber-bullying-cases/

Think before you post

This was a very sad and negative story where there is a huge privacy issue. The story is that a gay male (tyler clemson) was having male company at his Rutgers dorm but, since his roommate was not gay he warned the roommate that he was having company. Since the roommate disliked the gay male the roommate decided to record this and take photos. This happen multiple times and Tyler complained multiple times, and begged for a new room. One night Tyler said once again that he was having company. The roommate went to record this session like usual but this time Tyler was having sex in the dorm. The roommate posted the video that night. Tyler committed suicide that morning.   "The roommate was sentenced to 30 days in jail by a New Jersey judge for spying on Clementi. In addition to his 30-day jail sentence, Ravi was also sentenced to 3 years probation, ordered to complete 300 hours of community service and attend counseling programs for cyber bullying and alternative lifestyles." This shows
-lack of control-where Clementi could not delete  these pictures and videos.
-permanent-how it was very difficult to take down the offensive content.

Donald Sterling Scandal

Donald Sterling was the owner of the Los Angeles clippers since 1981. But in 2014 there was video leakage of him saying racist remarks against black people. The leakage spread fast and became top stories on sports networks. Donald Sterling could not stop it from spreading either. It seemed that the video of him was on every website. This was an example of lack of control because he couldn't control how much it spread.

To this day, if you went on the internet and looked up the Donald Sterling scandal, you can still find the video. Nothing he can do can take the video off the websites. This shows how permanence played into him. His reputation is forever ruined because it's always going to be online.

He couldn't stop it from being posted because it happened too fast. He never would expected his life to be ruined too fast but that's what happened. Immediacy played a huge role in this because he could have stopped it before it went online if immediacy was not a problem.

This whole scandal banned him from any NBA game. Also, he had to give the NBA 2.5million because of his comments. Lastly he had to sell the clippers for 2 billion so he lost his whole franchise. All this because of some comments he thought nobody would hear.

Think Before You Post

Juan Witmer

Article:http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/10/05/offensive-memes-can-lead-to-jail-time-under-indonesia-cyberbullying-laws/
The article tells about when Indonesian government has arrested people for “offencive” internet memes. The country in 2008 law restricted against people who post about texts, pictures and etc.  I think that social media is for a negative use. I back this up by saying that some post can harm others and offend people. In the article tells about how the Indonesian had to set a law to the citizens to post on social media of text, picture, videos and memes. These show about “Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control.” For Immediacy is the will of posting the pictures the videos and memes. Then thereś the Permanence of these post like when you post the picture or texts it´s out there for anyone to see. Last but least is Lack of Control this shows about the controlness of how big or small your post could be than it could turn that it could be bad and people will make fun of you. If I were one of those people who posted these rude remarks to the Indonesian government this could be on your record that you posted these things. The article says you could get a punishment of 12 years in prison because of these post.

The Impact on Comments

Requirements for this project:

For this assignment, please find a story about an individual's use of social media (it can be a positive or negative use) and explain the story and the effects that this choice had on the individual's life or the life of others. Also, please explain how Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control played into the story and give the individual advice for their online life.

Article Refrence http://www.ksat.com/news/police-officer-fired-for-threatening-dallas-woman-on-social-media

The Article I read was a negative article about a police officer who threatened a mothers daughter for the mom putting her child on facebook. He made cruel comments and threatening to take her away at night and criticising the mom for putting her on the internet. This accident impacted the police officer because he was then fired from his job and has multiple court hearings now. This will be bad for him in the future because all he had was being a police officer with not coming into that job with a college education and now that he was fired there's really nothing us for him to do that will pay his bills.

Things that we learned in class like Immediacy, Permanence, and lack of control played a big role in this article.

Let's start with the easy one, Lack of control. One this was posted it messed up his whole life. He had no control over what others did with this comment or what they had to say about it. Some was livid like M Gonzales and some thought he was just giving a friendly/ scary/ wisdom message like Tracy Whitham.

Tracey Whitham

¨I think he was attempting to warn her that posting your child could put her in danger and to hug her because it could be her last. Stop posting or using your children. The Internet is open to a lot more than you realize.¨

M Gonzales

¨Yeah! The Internet is also open to idiots like you. Same harm can come to adults as well. I suggest you stay off social media.¨

Permanency played a role because after he posted it although he deleted it others took it and it became viral. There was nothing that he could do about it and that's what made OPPD and OPPD police chief upset.

OPPD Police Chief Francis Donchez said. “It was obvious that our officer did not meet the standards of professionalism for the Overland Park Police Department. Overland Park has terminated the officer, effective immediately.”

The Last one that we learned about in class was Lack of control. It was simply nothing that he could do to make everything disappear from the world. Everyone of the points that we learned in class played a role in his case and everyone's else case. This made me reflect on what i post on the internet and it should make you be cautious about what you put on the internet as well.

My personal Advice to the officer was that he should have never said those comments even if he really did not mean to say them. If I had to say something to everyone I would say that Everyone should think before their post and make sure that what you say is not hurtful in a way you did not mean it to be.

Think Before you Post

  Think Before you Post

                                          By:Katherine Russell

Amanda Todd is mostly known for her YouTube post of her telling her story with flash cards. Her death was lead to cyberbullying(online and offline) and harassment. Her story started during a facetime online with some friends. They dared her to flash on camera, Amanda then flashed her friends, at first she didn’t think of the consequences. How immediacy in this story is that the next day (after Amanda Todd flashed her friends), the police came to Todd’s home, saying that someone took a picture of her flashing. The picture was posted online and became viral. Amanda tried her best to get it down, but a man took a screenshot of her chest and sent it to everyone she knows.

"I can never get that photo back," she wrote. "It's out there forever." quote Amanda Todd. This lack of control and performance is what drove Amanda to drugs, depression, cutting and a suicide attempt with bleach. Amanda also tried to escape her bullies by moving from towns and schools. Even though the picture was Amanda had the choice to flash or not, her lack of control online is what lead to her death. How permanence played in this story is that people who saw and took a screenshot of the picture would never forget about it. Also no one would let her forget about it either. If I ever had the chance to warn Amanda about her action, is that think before you do, because whatever you do it can haunt you forever.

Think before you post

When she was 13 Amanda Todd made a mistake she deemed harmless at the moment. That mistake snowballed until the end of her life  two years later. When Amanda Todd was 15 she committed suicide, because she felt like she was trapped in a situation she had no control over. Her mistake was thinking she could trust someone she deemed trustworthy  with pictures of her body. The person who took the pictures decided to distribute them throughout the internet which in turn fueled a campaign to cyberbully Todd. In the two years between Todd’s suicide and the pictures being spread, she turned to self-harm, alcohol and drugs to cope with the immense cyber bullying. Since she realized she couldn’t control the spread of the images or the bullying, she turned to things she felt she could control. She was in a situation she could not control because of social media and she chose to take control of the only thing she felt she could: her life. On October 10,2012 Todd took her life in a response to the bullying she received. Before you post, think about how it affects the other person.

The Check-In's of the North Dakota Pipeline

The North Dakota pipeline movement have been shaking social media these past few months. And their impact on sites such as Facebook are spreading throughout the world. This article states how people are somewhat ‘checking in’ on Facebook to show that they’re going to Standing Rock, ND to protest against the pipeline. There was a post on Facebook, saying that the sheriff department checks on Facebook to see how many people are going to protest and who exactly are they.  A post came in, though the article doesn’t state the identity of the person who posted it. Many people have ‘checked in’ on Facebook, claiming that they are protesting on the North Dakota pipelines. It’s to trick the police and try to find a way to help the protesters of the pipeline.

Though I don’t have the identity of the one individual who posted the comment but their actions did help the protesters, in a way. People were ‘participating’ through the screen of their phone or laptops. They had an impact on the pipeline protest, finding a way to help the people and try to confuse the police but they didn’t have that big of a effect. On the article, say of the actual protesters said that it would have been nice if the people who claimed they were at Standing Rock, North Dakota could actually be there. Their participation on the protest didn’t really have as much as a positive effect as they were suppose it. Instead they might have just confused and annoyed the police. Plus, the article says that the sheriff department actually doesn’t monitor Facebook feeds or comments about people protesting the North Dakota pipeline. They say it’s completely false.

Immediacy plays into this. Everyone saw the post and since they felt bad for the people protesting the pipeline being arrested and they’re not able to help them, they decided to believe into this ‘check in’ on Facebook and participate in that. The post has an positive impact on the people in Facebook. It rallied some up to post that they were going to North Dakota to protest against the pipeline and as more people were posting, it eventually had articles on it and gaining some popularity. Maybe teenagers and students on Facebook see this posts and think to try to do something for the community. My advice would be next time, instead of just saying something on the Internet, go and try to make a positive impact on your own. If you can’t physically go, maybe donate and speak out for the cause. Try to inform everybody about it and how it’s bad for people who are protesting against it and are being arrested for something they believe in.

I think the motives of this whole ‘check in’ thing was good. They had good intentions but if they really wanted to play a role in this, try to actually go to North Dakota and participate in the protests. The post was claimed to be false in information and just confused the department. They did have some form of support for the protesters of the North Dakota pipeline but one of them did say, “It would have nice to have those 550,000 people really here.”

"White Makes You Win!"

This article has a negitive effect on the people around us. In this was a cosmetics video featuring Cris Horwang and another model. They show a model with a very light skin-tone and then they slowly begin to show Cris appear in a darker skin-tone. It was like comparing a white and black person together. Then the narrator then says, "White makes you win" as to say that being white or a much lighter skin-tone is better. This may make others of a darker tone feel insecure about themselves. Immediacy- the video was sent out after edits and filming. Permanence- They didn't delete it but they did apologize because it was racist and they didn't realize at first. Lack of Control- Once they uploaded it they couldn't control the comments and things that they got.

Be Conscious, Think Before you Post

Kaitlyn Bond

This article is about Carly Mckinney, a first year tenth grade math teacher, who Tweeted inappropriate pictures of herself, regularly Tweeted about her liking to smoke pot, and used rave and drug-related hashtags. Mckinney was a teacher at Overland High School in Aurora, Colorado. This incident affected Mckinney greatly, it resulted in her getting fired from her job as a teacher. In addition, it may be more difficult for Mckinney to get a job in the future due to her online choices. Mckinney’s online choices affected others because the students that she had didn’t have her as a teacher anymore, and Overland High School had to find another teacher to take Mckinney’s place. Also, it affected the school district because they had to make a statement on the situation and it might have made some people think that the school district isn’t doing a good enough job at tracking their employee’s online lives.

Immediacy affected Carly Mckinney’s situation a large amount because once she posted the photos and posts, she couldn’t ever gain control of them again, and this may be one of the reasons why Mckinney was fired. Everybody could have been sharing the photos and posts around almost immediately, and eventually the school district was able to see the photos, which probably didn’t take very long. Permanence has affected Mckinney’s situation because even if you delete a post, somebody will most likely be able to find it, since the photos and posts may have been shared so many times, it would be hard to keep the photos and posts hidden. Lastly, lack of control affected Mckinney because once she posted those tweets online, she couldn’t ever get them back or have them completely erased. If I could give Mckinney advice, I would say that she probably shouldn’t do the things that she’s doing, or at the very least not post about them. In addition, I would say that she should delete the posts or start a new Twitter account, and start fresh from what she can control. In conclusion, everybody should be cautious about what they post online because their lives could be greatly affected by it.

My project is all about me. It talks about things about me, my resume, and a project I did last year. My goal throughout this project was to tell everyone some things about me. What I hoped to learn throughout this project was how to create a website and all the different parts of a website. And I did learn those two things. To make this website, I first had to find a website. I had one at first but I decided to change it. After that, I had to create my Home page, About Me page, Resume page, and Project page. I then added information on the pages and I was done. One failure I had was that my first website deleted all my stuff so I had to use another website. What I learned besides the other two things about my website is that you always need a backup plan. What I learned about myself is that I learned I have more accomplishments than I thought. If I was to do this project differently, I would add more pictures. A tip I would tell others doing this project is make you have another website just in case your first website doesn’t work out. This project didn’t really inspire me although it was fun. I think the message dictated the medium because this entire project was about me.

Color Wheel Project

             What’s your Future?

I created this project because I didn’t want to just make my project a little  different.  I didn’t just want to have a color wheel , so I started thinking of ways to incorporate the color wheel into a overall picture. I went from trying to use inspiration from a show to nothing. Until one day it hit me. Out of nowhere, I thought about using a fortune teller. This way I would be able to incorporate the color wheel in a cool way. Because of the cool incorporation with the fortune teller and the color wheel being multi-purposeful , I believe the audience will love it. I think they would commend me for my vision and creativeness.

Similar to my other works. I like to make my work creative, deep and making  it something that you have to make  the most out of it. Another reason, why it’s similar to my other works is  if it were thrown into a pile of my other works it wouldn’t stick out in a negative .I think my work also compares to contemporary works in modern society because I took some 21st century influence. I also gave my work and message I constantly think about which I titled the painting. This fits in with history because it’s contemporary art. Making it fit in a unique category.  I used pictures from this site to draw inspiration : "Love Fortune Telling." Love Fortune Telling. N.p., n.d. Web. 31 Oct. 2016. An artist that influences me is James Patterson. He fits into my work a lot because we give our work a realistic comic book feel. Our work looks like it could be in a comic book. A technique I find useful and mimic is the number of drafts he would make of one work. He would remake something as many as 9 times to really work it over. I never did this before learning about him. It makes the work look really clean.

Home Page of Digital Portfolio
Home Page of Digital Portfolio

In doing his project, I wanted to show the world a glimpse of my life. While completing this, I included details of my life in and out of school, as well as extracurricular activities that I am participating in. My goal was to at least scratch the surface of the many accomplishments I have made, and I what I still hope to accomplish. In order to do all of this, I created a homepage to introduce my viewers to my website, an about me page to give a little tidbit of my life, a project page to highlight a project I have completed, and a resume page to list my achievements. In addition to all this, I created a Gallery to explain the pictures I have on my website. A failure I encountered was that the explanation for my homepage got deleted. I overcame this by just making a new one, instead of wasting time complaining.

By completing this project, I learned many new features and abilities of the website editor Weebly. As far as what I learned about myself, even though I separated my life outside of school into rowing, Teen Bible Quiz, and social life, I realize now that all my life is social, and that I interact with others in everything I do. The only thing different I would do on this project if I did it all over again was make the pages more aesthetically pleasing. In other words, I would spend more time designing the format of each page instead of typing as much as I did. A tip I would give to others who are completing this project is to think of the things that you most care about, and base your website off of those areas of your life. This portfolio has inspired me to chase my dreams and continue doing well in everything I do. The message of this project dicated the medium. The reason I think so is because depending on what I was displaying on any particular page, that influenced what the background would be, and how I would go about explaining the page.

Color wheel: Dream Catcher Edition

The reason why I decided to draw a dreamcatcher because they are used induce positive dreams and push away all negative dreams away. I enjoy having peaceful sleep and positive dreams because then I’m able to have an enjoyable next day. Overall I think I did this very well, but I do believe that this is good artwork, but I could have did a little better on the background. I expect my audience to notice the primary, secondary, tertiary and tints as well as the object that I drew. They should see how I worked the different colors into the dream catcher. There  is nothing right now that relates to this image, but I really enjoy the idea of me doing something new that I haven’t done before. I don’t think this piece really fits with contemporary art, but it could possible fit a little due to the colors. It can fit with the history of art because there was always color and color is still used in this time period as it has always been today.

It doesn’t really fit with other works that I have did that much other than the colors that is done, but I never really drew something like this before.I looked over a few pictures off of google to get an idea, but nothing more. I already had an idea of it honestly when I was thinking of exceeding expectations for this project.I honestly wasn’t influenced by anyone for this project, but I was simply influenced by exceeding expectations by finding other circular things to use as a color wheel for myself.I find it important to always have the primary colors present when painting because you can make any color as long as you have those three colors on your palette.I learned that I don’t always have to buy a lot of paint in order to create new colors for a picture that  I’m painting at the time.

Quarter 1 color wheel project

Artist statement

When I started thinking of this project I wanted to do something different from just a regular color wheel, so I went on google to see different ideas. I saw a color wheel on google and I liked it so I did that for my project. I did that because I thought it was cool how it had the colors in the leaves. Even though this is not my original piece I added my own touch to it. What I did was; I did a tint from the leaves going down to the root and I also added a background of different colors all splashed around in an unorganized way.

I think this piece was ok, it could’ve been better if I made it bigger so that the shade could show some more, but when people look at this I want them to have their own interpretation of it and I also wants it to show people to think outside of box and because of the background I want it to be seen as also a very vibrant piece of Art which reminds me a lot of when i first started drawing and coloring, I used to always use a lot of colors and I think that represents the kind of person that I am.

"I'm A Dreamer" Color Wheel

I have created this work because I liked the idea of having a range of colors flowing from an object, it’s a very creative and interesting thing to draw and create.
My overall vision of my work seems to be very inspiring. I got a lot of compliments on what i did and it made me more confident in what I did. I had the picture in my mind and it came out almost exactly the way i expected it to mainly because of the object i used as my centerpiece. The paint’s that we used weren’t exactly what I imagined but it got the job done and brought my vision to life.
I expect my audience to appreciate the effort that i put into my artwork and to complement it on what it is. I would love constructive feedback because you can never improve too much.
I would say that my current work is just as good and my previous work, it just so happens that this one was just a different type of piece. I feel like it’s good to broaden my experience in the “artplace”. It relates in a way simply because it comes from the same place. Everytime I do a new piece it comes from me.
Current contemporary art and the work i have don are probably on two whole different scales in my opinion. Looking at contemporary art it make mine look like a child’s sketch. But that makes me better because I know my inspiration and as long as i keep doing what I have been my work will continue to get better over time.
History of art practice is exactly what we are bringing out every time we do a new piece of art. Using this “color wheel” method it brings about where our colors come from and how we use them in different ways that make them original. Even though it’s the same colors it’s a different piece.
I think my work would stand out in a group exhibition because of how bright my colors and and the technique i used.
My inspiration was tumblr. I love the photography that pops up when you google “Tumblr” it's a reflection of how i see everything. I always use that as my inspiration for my art. But i think think that if i used something else as my inspiration my work would be completely different.
If tumblr artists relates to “other artists” then i have been influenced by their style and use of color and fading tints.
A certain technique isn’t crucial but you must have an idea of what you want your work to look like in the long run so before you start you want to have a game plan and an idea of what you want your work to look like so if you follow those steps your work will come out as planned.
A new technique i have learned is the color wheel itself, i learned how to make tints and it reminded me of what my colors are and how to use them . I’ve never done a color wheel before so it gave me some insight on what colors i could use and how i could use them.
Overall I feel as though my art piece was meaningful to me in the best way possible, it brings out the artist in me and it shows my vision and love for owls. I think that choosing to do my piece this way really compliments my ideas and the requirements for the project itself. I think the time i spent on doing this work shows graciously and I’m very proud to show my work off to those who have not seen it yet, as well as all my other pieces i have done in the past.
