Quarter 1
  • Slide 1: Web design

    • The overall vision and goal(s) of the project

  • Slide 2:I wanted to make a website that highlighted my accomplishments and also told something about me.

  • Slide3: I think the project was successful because I got to tell everything I wanted about me on the website, but it could still be better. I could have Included my family members, friends’ names, and more pictures of them both.


 Quarter 2

  • Slide 1: Image Editing

    • The overall vision and goal(s) of the project

  • Slide 2: After seeing a cool movie in 2016, it’s theme stuck with me and I wanted to convey it in the image editing project. We had to create one image that encompasses a message and at least four images. There would have to be evidence that you used editing tools.

    • Was the project successful? Why? Why not?

  • Slide3: I think the project was successful because my vision was successfully met. I first found the images that I wanted and sometimes I found other images that changed how I wanted to show my final image. It was for the better and my final image turned out better than I thought.


 Quarter 3

  • Slide 1: Graphic Design

    • The overall vision and goal(s) of the project

  • Slide 2: In this project, we were supposed to make a sign. I thought I could be realistic and make a street sign. I wanted it to be funny and a twist on what people usually think.

    • Was the project successful? Why? Why not?

  • Slide3: I think the project was a little successful. In the end I was still able to make the sign. But I was very limited to what I could make, probably because I didn't have much practice with the website. And the tool I was using wouldn’t let me do the things I wanted to, so I had to work around it.


Quarter 4

In this project I simply put a sign around the artwork I had done to make it more realistic and followed the directions of the project. I did this project because I felt I haven’t done as well on this project as the others. So wanted to improve my work.


Your high point of the course when it comes to your learning

In this class I think i have really good visions of what I want to create even before the next checkpoint would tell me to do so.

 

An area of growth for you

Although, my visions are great, my representation of them could be better. Due to me not fully realizing what I could do on a specific editing software, my ideas are limited because I can’t due much stuff on the editor, to knowledge.

 

How you have used or could use a skill or technique you learned this year outside of this class

A skill I’ve learned from this class in general is the idea of checkpoints. The thought of organizing on my own what I want to do would be great and the thought process will pay off in the end.

 

An idea you want to pitch for a project for next year's class

I think a good idea for next year could be making an animation skit or game.

Q1 project Overview

The project that I did for the first quarter was a digital portfolio.The whole point of making a digital portfolio was for people to get to know more about our academic and social life.I think I was pretty successful in revising this project because when people will see it they won’t have to just read what I did with projects but will provide a visual as well. Even though the process was long and hard. At first I thought that making a website was going to be easy but there is actually a lot that comes with building a website. I was surprised at how well my website came out.

 

Q2 project Overview

The project that did for quarter two was  3d model of a iphone case. I used a phone case template and added my own design to it to make it my own. What I hoped to learn through completing this project was to learn more about how 3d modeling actually works. The steps that I took to complete this project was I first went on the website that would help me make my project and I took some lessons on the website to figure out how to work it. The website that I used was tinkercad and it was much easier to understand and use for my project. I then started to create a 3d model of my phone case. A success was that it turned out really nice but I did have a few failures because I started off with one idea that was a fail and then when I finally got the idea to do a phone case the website started to not work. But I did overcome these failures because the website started to work again and I was finally able to finish my project.

 

Q3 project Overview

The project that I did for quarter three was graphic design.So my design conveyed the relationships between friends and family and how sometimes the relationship with them isn’t always good.But caution or be careful of who you call your friends and always love your family no matter what you may go through.The process actually took longer because I was having some trouble working the website.It’s not easy to combine pictures and edit them at the same time.The biggest failure that I encountered in this project was that my project kept deleting.But I overcame it by keep trying to fix it everytime it messed up.The specific skill that I learned through the completion of the project was to keep trying even though it was making me upset. The website that I was using kept messing up and it never saved. But each time it messed up I would keep trying and my project finally came out good.


Q4 project Overview

For quarter four I decided to revise my website.There were some aspects on my website that I needed to change,specifically on the projects page.By revising it I added pictures to show people the specific projects that I have done. I do think that I was successful in this revision because it got me a good grade.

My name is Joelle Putro and for my project I did graphic design. I did a traffic sign that targets poached animals. I really like animals so I wanted to stop them from being killed. This sign is supposed to tell animals that poachers are ahead and to turn around. I also want it to raise awareness on poaching. My project was very successful. I had fun making it because I got to look at many picture of animals. I also enjoy using Pixlr and figuring out new ways to use it. My sign came out exactly how I wanted it to. 
 
5-7
For this project I did image editing. I chose to use Pixlr because it is very similar to photoshop. I did this project around the holidays. I wanted to spread awareness of homeless people feeling left out during the holidays. I was hoping for this photo to inspire people to treat homeless people better. I think my project was successful. It is very similar to what I had in mind. 
 
8-10
I chose to revise this project because I felt like I could add more meaning to it in some way. I decided to add more highly poached animals on the sign. By doing this I felt like it would strike more emotion in people if they see an animal on there that they really like. To do this I had to go into pixlr and make the photos of the animals transparent and merge them with my sign. After doing this I raised the brightness and contrast a bit to make the sign more eye catching. 
 
11-13
In this class my high points include time management and problem solving. While working on these projects, we got assigned checkpoints every week. These checkpoints help me keep up with my projects. I think without these checkpoints I would not have managed my time as good as I did. Problem solving was another high point because I ran into some problems while editing my photos. I taught myself how to use pixlr by watching videos and reading articles on websites. 
An area of growth for me is being on time to class. Being late will affect my grade and I will not have time to work on my project. This inspired me to be on time more. I have learned skills such as image editing that I can use outside of this class. I do photography outside of school and pixlr can help me edit my photos. 
 
14-17
An idea that I have for next year’s class is similar to the image editing project that we did. It would be different because we would be taking our own photos. The assignment would be to go out and take our own photos and edit them. I think this is a good idea because I enjoy photography and I think it gives students more room to express themselves. A tip that I have for anyone taking this class is to manage your time. This class is very face paced and you have to use your class time wisely. DO not waste time playing around in class because it will affect your grade. It will also affect the outcome of your final project if you wait until last minute. Another tip I have for people taking this class is to not hold back on your ideas. If you have a good idea but you are not sure about what others will think of it, go through with it. This is your project and a chance for you to express yourself. Don’t be too concerned about what other people think of your ideas. The last tip I have for anyone taking this class is to not give up. If you are working on a project and lose motivation or don’t understand how to do something, keep going. There are many times during these projects where I have faced issues but I figured them out. After finishing the projects I was happy that I did not give up because the outcomes were even better knowing that I got through them issues. Solving problems and figuring out how to use different web programs is very important.

Ignite Presentation

A high point in this project was me turning in all of my projects in on time. I had set a goal to try and receive a 82 or higher and I reached my goal more than one time. I enjoyed being able to express my creativity in my art work.
 
An area of growth was when I was doing my website and it all got deleted. I then had to to complete it again. It was hard trying to build it because I did not have time to watch the tutorial. I was then able to complete it with no worries and I knew how to work it well.
 
I can use these skills outside of class when I want to promote something and I can build a website to help promote it.
 
For the next year’s class is building project that has to have some form of electricity. 
 
For all of the students taking this class next year just relax and have fun. This class is the only class that is not stressful. Everything is organized for you. ALl you have to do is complete everything on time and you will pass.
 
My second tip is for the students to ask questions if they do not understand something because if you keep going with an unsure mind and when you do something wrong you might have to delete everything. 
 
My last and final tip in this class is to have fun because when you have fun you get your work done better and put forth your best effort.

Q-1 Project
So what my Q1 project was is that we were supposed to create a website and add information about us to it. The overall goal of the website is to be able to add any information on further projects ahead of where we were at the time.
This project to me was a very good I believe that I did pretty ok on it other than my grammar.
 
Q-2 project
So the project that I did was the computer science crouse.
 
My vision and goals were to figure out how people can code and how can I learn to code things which would allow for me to do various things like moving keral around.
 
To me, I believe that it was a success because It got me closer to being able to understand other coding languages with ease. 

Q-3 project
 
This project was the 3d modeling project.
 
During this project what I wanted to do is make a model of what I like so I went with the idea to remake a really fun meme.
 
This was a success but I feel like I could have done better with this instead of making those number all over the place instead of being just stationary.
 
Quarter - 4 Revision

I went back to the website I used for the computer science/coding to finish some lessons that I didn't finish before. What I did was I went back in and changed the way some of the lines of codes were and made a few adjustments to some of the lines of code so that they can work for both situation.
 
My experience:
I believe that My highpoint was during the second quarters when I did the coding project I believe that during this time I gained the knowledge that I needed to know how to understand coding languages.

An area of growth for you
It may have been during my time of 3-D modeling project \, it allowed for me to be able to get an idea of what I may want to do during the future.
 
How you have used or could use a skill or technique you learned this year outside of this class
For the coding project, It allowed for me to understand certain lines of code due to my time while doing the second quarter project.

Well for my revision I decided to do my 3D modelling project and in this project I fixed the shape because it is messed up and is irregular and also dis formed. Well I wanted to revise my 3D modelling project because the errors were obvious but small


The project type was Website design for the 1st quarter. For this project our main goal was to make an online portfolio. The project wasn't that successful because I got a low grade.

The Project type was a Graphic design project for the 2nd quarter. For this project my main goal was to make a sign that was self explanatory. This project wasn't successful because my sign couldn't get it's message conveyed

The project type was 3D modelling project for the 3rd quarter. For this project my main goal was to construct a 3D model of my own. This project wasn't successful because my model had many flaws that I didn't realize until it was printed.

The project was a website, we were tasked with making a website to display our projects and such

Quarter 1: Website

  • Overview

    • Type: The project was to create a website using an online site builder, like for example, Weebly and Wix. I chose to use Weebly.

    • The overall vision and goal(s): The goal, as mentioned above, is to create a website, but more specifically, a personal website with a resume, list of projects, and contact. A blog could be also included.
      My goal was to create just that, but with a very simplistic type of feel and very easy to navigate.

    • Successes: I feel that I have created a good and nice website that anyone can visit and find out who I am. The goal for creating a simplistic website were fulfilled and I am soon planning to add a blog and some extras.

Quarter 2: Computer Science

  • Overview

    • Type: The type of project was a “code highschool” learning site to learn the basics of Javascript.

    • The overall vision and goal(s): To learn and get general knowledge of Javascript, the language of the web. It was done via the way of Karel, a virtual dog who you controlled with Javascript.

    • Successes: The project was quite fun all in all. To me, it was quite easy, considering that I already had a previous knowledge of programming. There were some problems with the logic of the situation and the commands, but I figured it out eventually

Quarter 3: 3-D Modeling

  • Overview

    • Type: The project was to create a 3-D model of something artistic or that can be used in something else. You also had to show the model being used somehow.

    • The overall vision and goal(s): The goal like above was to create a model that can be used. For my model, I chose to create a player model for the game “Audiosurf 2”. It is a rhythm game where you control a character in a spaceship riding along a track made of the music you play, collecting blocks for score in time with the music.

    • Successes: I feel that I made a good model of what I wanted to be in the game. I have also created a custom “skin” to match this space feel as well. Everything else just fell together well.

Quarter 4: Revision

  • Overview

    • I wanted to finalize the product of the Quarter 3 project to make it fit better in the game. Basically, add extra engines, make it colored to fit the theme I wanted and to tweak everything else.

Highlights:

  • High Points

    • A good high point was the ability to learn computer programming in a flexible and fun way.

    • The best growth I had so far was the ability to get better in 3d modeling and some nice techniques.

    • The JavaScript I have learned will help me create more dynamic websites with additional capability.

  • Tips

    • TIP #1: Don’t forget to ask your classmates, especially ones who are working on the same project, for help if you are stuck.

    • Tip #2: The internet has more solutions than you think. Look something up to be sure.

    • Tip #3: If you are working on JavaScript, DON’T forget the semicolon at the end of the line!

I don't have a title for this project

Q1- For this project, I had to create a website. The website had to be all about me. The goal of the project was to tell information on me so that people would know. I think this project was a failure. I say that because I didn’t achieve everything I wanted.

 

Q2- For this project, I had to learn codes and do them to solve puzzles. I then had to record a video of me doing the project. The goal of this project was to learn codes and solve puzzles. This project was much better than my first one. I achieved mostly everything I wanted to

 

Q3- For this project, I had to create 3D model (although I didn’t have to print it out). I decided to do a meme for this project. The meme was called it’s time to stop. I created it by creating a clock with a circle, an arrow, and inside of the clock, I wrote stop all around it. I then wrote over the clock “oh boy would you look at time?” The goal of this project was to create an image that could be 3D modeled. I feel like I did that and it was a good project.

 

 

The reason I chose to do this project is because I didn’t finish everything I needed for it. There were still levels that I needed to complete. One was the “For Loops” level. I wanted to particularly do this one because I felt like it was easy and I didn’t try hard enough on it. That’s why I wanted to do it.

A high point of the course when it comes to learning is being able to hear directions once and then not need help for the majority of the class.

 

An area of growth for you.

An area of growth for me is being able to do my projects better. I went from a really bad 1st quarter project to a really good 3rd quarter project.

 

 

How you have used or could use a skill or technique you learned this year outside of this class.

I could use my knowledge of making a website to help people make a website if they want to make one or need to make one.

 

 

An idea you want to pitch for a project for next year's class.

A project I want to pitch for next year is creating a music video. I think this would be good because not only is it something fun, it will also help kids learn about technology.

Listen to the teacher and pay attention. If you don’t, you could miss something that will mess up your project or assignment.

 

Finish your work early. If you wait until the last minute to do it, you could mess up or not get everything you wanted.

 

Work your hardest. If you don’t, you won’t get a good enough grade.

Slide 1: My name is Rymir Vaughn and this is my Media Design Ignite presentation. I'm going to talk about my projects from this year as well as some tips.

 

Slide 2: My Q1 project was the website. I didn't have a lot of trouble, but I did have a problem with the site builder and I ended up switching from Wix to Weebly. To make it better I added pictures

 

Slide 3: The pictures made it more visually appealing and easier to look at. I didn't just do this for the grade, but for future applications. I'm hoping to stand out by submitting a website instead of a normal resume.

 

Slide 4: My project was successful because I think I got my point across and uploaded my best projects over the past couple years. My grade was also decent and I might keep adding to it.

 

Slide 5: My quarter 2 project was the computer science project, I enhanced the knowledge I already had of coding. At end I needed to apply my knowledge and complete an activity. I made a screen cast of that activity

 

Slide 6: My goal was to get better at coding. I learned more about coding and different ways to make it easier and faster. Especially, since I've done some before, but not a lot

 

Slide 7: It was a king of a success. In the video there were noises in the background and I didn't like that, but besides that it was good. Also during the coding I ran into a lot of problems

 

Slide 8: My quarter three project started off as an advanced coding project that we would be entered in the TEC COM, but it didn't work out, so I ended up just making edits to the project we were going to make the edits to.

 

Slide 9: The goal was to not only make it better, but have it correspond with a light system that'll tell you if it wrong or not.

Slide 10: It wasn't a success in my eyes because of the fact that we didn't go through with it completely. We ended up scraping it and really just making changes to the game site.

 

Slide 11: The project I decided to revise was my quarter 3 project. All I did was change the colors so it looked better. It looks more visually appealing now with more consistency and has a color scheme.

 

Slide 12: Cyrus shared the code with me and all I did was change the color scheme of the level.

 

Slide 13: As you can see the color scheme wasn’t bad, but I wanted to change it and make it better. So, I changed the colors from blue and yellow to blue and silver/grey.

 

Slide 14: I would have to say quarter 2’s project was the height for me. I learned a lot from the computer science project and I enhanced my skills as a coder and programmer.

 

Slide 15:Something I could have improved in is getting my checkpoints in on time because that killed my grade last quarter.

 

Slide 16: I could use the computer science. I say this because I could possibly enter a career in electrical engineering. So this could help me possibly later in life.

 

Slide 17: I would have liked to do image editing. There were just other things that I wanted to do that I was more interested in. I probably would've done it for Q4 if this wasn't the project we had to do.

 

Slide 18: I would say that the first thing is submit your assignments on time. My grade took a hit because of not submitting the assignment at all. So, if you want a good grade submit.

 

Slide 19: Don't be afraid to ask question. If you don't get something ask. This could also help in other classes.

 

Slide 20: If you do something you like doing you'll actually do it. Like if you do image editing, edit an image you like or make it like something you like. You're grade will reflect it.

This room belongs to a girl named A'niyah Milan Flowers. Her last name is the reason for her loving flowers. Her room is completely flower themed. She had three objects in her room that really represent her. First, she has two flower pillows sitting on her bed. They are important to her because as I said she loves flowers of all types. Second, she has a vase sitting on her desk. Lastly, she has a big picture across her wall that says flower child. That particular painting is important to A'niyah because a famous floral artist painted it for her.

My person who lives in my room in a late teen living in a beach house in Florida. She loves to surf and anything that has to do with the beach. she has a surfboard on the wall her grandfather gave her when he died since he was a surfer. Has three pictures of her in hawaii at a surfing competition over her bed, and she also has a shelf of all her grandfathers trophy from when he competed in surfing competitions.

This song was made one day when I was feeling overly happy about living in general. and I thought to myself "there aren't too many happy songs being made these days." I thought what a great idea it would be to try making a happy song instead of the sad songs you might hear on the radio. This song is me spitting what makes me happy on a track performing, writing, having a dedicated fan base, family, friends. This capstone project helped me figure out what makes me happy why I like to make music helped me dig deeper into the technicality of the music, what's going on behind the scenes. My favorite part of this process was having people critique my writing and having it fit the beat, figuring that whole process out was fun but challenging like a riddle in puzzle form.

When it comes down to summarizing the completion of my senior Capstone project I wouldn't know where to begin. Last year Zoie Jones and I ran an ILP that went by the name of girl talk. While that was pretty successful we wanted to delve deeper into things and understand the young women we worked with on a deeper level. With that in mind we kept the same foundation but changed the message. Our message this year was for these young women to find beauty in everything and ultimately feel beautiful about themselves and the people that they are. I think it is extremely important that young women feel beautiful from the inside before they feel beauty outside. Our product was a video compilation of all the things we did and   some of the reflections we had after sessions. This video is full of selfies that all of our girls have taken and pictures of things they find beautiful,

The person that is in the room is me. For the scene I am going to tell about my thoughts and frustrations towards my life. My backstory is past memories and experiences in my household.The items that I am going to use is my desk, my dresser,mirror, my bed, headphones, and also my phone. My desk represents how I work on myself. My dresser represents how the clothes in my dress is how am i am folded. Sometimes I am folded and to myself and basically a loner. My mirror is the reflection of me and i talk to myself in the mirror. Headphones is me blocking out the negativity. And my phone is my happy place.

     ​The person who lives in this room is Ryan. He is a very creative person. He plays sports. . In the room it's a bedroom  There is a skyline, that means a lot to him. He doesn't go outside because of what happened to him two years ago. He used to be so energetic, popular, and care free. Until that one night. He was walking his dog and he saw this thing . It chased him through the wood. When it finally cornered him something happened, he won't tell anyone what happened but what happened he won't even step outside. So the only images we get are the ones he draws on the walls.   Some Things he thinks are very personal to him are the quote on the wall it reminds him of what he could be. He also likes the lights in the room, they make him feel safe in the dark. He also likes his tree it shows how you can grow over the years. The rose on the night stand gives him life and a sense of outside.

One Point Perspective

The person that lives in this room is Dave. Dave is into sneakers and his idol is Michael Jordan. He buys and sells sneakers for a living and makes quite a profit from it.  He also likes gardening because he loves keeping his flowers alive and well and maintain them like the people that are important to him. Dave doesn't keep any pictures of his parents in his room because he never knew them. Dave was an orphan. Dave got adopted in 2012 but secretly doesn't fully accept that they're his parents. Dave is a busy person, he manages his time very wisely and he works with what he got to make his way to the top. He always starts his day at 5:30 AM and doesn't open his curtains because it's so dark. He keeps his personal and his work life simple. Dave exceeds in school winning awards and prizes at basketball in hope to be in big leagues after college.
