One Point Perspective Drawing

The person living in the room is a young man who enjoys a secluded lifestyle, is a little messy but is an organized mess to him. He enjoys playing games on both his phone and PlayStation 4, sleeping and watching different series on his TV and laptop. The room has a bed along the right wall, a TV along the back wall, a desk on his left wall in front of a window, a floor with bottles and clothes on it, a door in the left corner by the TV and a closet in the right corner by the TV. The rooms appearance is a  reflection of his unwillingness to let go of items that he acquired from important people to him but his laziness prohibits him from displaying them in a proper neat manner and correctly paying homage to those respective figures, so he prefers to be alone surrounded by the things he loves most and spends most of his time with those possessions and avoids interaction with others. The personal items of mine included in the room shall be a PlayStation 4, laptop, my phone and book-bag. Some textures included in the drawing are a diamond tile pattern along the ceiling, a wooden floor within the closet, and fluffy clouds outside the window. That is a basic overview of my drawing and its inhabitant.

Motor Vehicle Saftey

Our society is becoming more and more dependent on technology. A huge factor is the way we travel. Our primary source of travel is by car, which is at times is incredibly dangerous. It was something I thought would be interesting to research. I was able to look at upcoming solutions to past danger concerns. I did research on the way some car manufactures are looking into creating robotic solutions to add to their car models, in order to make them safer and less likely to crash. I don't think I did anything very well, however, I know I can work on being more involved and communicative with my group members
I think an important part of creating the PSA was being able to understand the issues in our traveling systems and look into the best possible solutions. I also looked at the issues that could arise out of those possible solutions. If the solutions were worse than the initial problem than it would cause more health issues, larger death count, and a huge amount of financial loss. With a financial loss comes damage to the economy and the ability to provide health care. An increase in injuries and death, and a decrease in healthcare stability is the conclusion if a car modification fails. This is why jobs in car manufacturing are important to health and the economy.

Media and Design: Final Project

Quarter 1
  • Slide 1: Web design

    • The overall vision and goal(s) of the project

  • Slide 2:I wanted to make a website that highlighted my accomplishments and also told something about me.

    • Was the project successful? Why? Why not?

  • Slide3: I think the project was successful because I got to tell everything I wanted about me on the website, but it could still be better. I could have Included my family members, friends’ names, and more pictures of them both.

 Quarter 2

  • Slide 1: Image Editing

    • The overall vision and goal(s) of the project

  • Slide 2: After seeing a cool movie in 2016, it’s theme stuck with me and I wanted to convey it in the image editing project. We had to create one image that encompasses a message and at least four images. There would have to be evidence that you used editing tools.

    • Was the project successful? Why? Why not?

  • Slide 3: I think the project was successful because my vision was successfully met. I first found the images that I wanted and sometimes I found other images that changed how I wanted to show my final image. It was for the better and my final image turned out better than I thought.

 Quarter 3

  • Slide 1: Graphic Design

    • The overall vision and goal(s) of the project

  • Slide 2: In this project, we were supposed to make a sign. I thought I could be realistic and make a street sign. I wanted it to be funny and a twist on what people usually think.

    • Was the project successful? Why? Why not?

  • Slide3: I think the project was a little successful. In the end I was still able to make the sign. But I was very limited to what I could make, probably because I didn't have much practice with the website. And the tool I was using wouldn’t let me do the things I wanted to, so I had to work around it.

Quarter 4

In this project I simply put a sign around the artwork I had done to make it more realistic and followed the directions of the project. I did this project because I felt I haven’t done as well on this project as the others. So wanted to improve my work.

Your high point of the course when it comes to your learning

In this class I think i have really good visions of what I want to create even before the next checkpoint would tell me to do so.

An area of growth for you

Although, my visions are great, my representation of them could be better. Due to me not fully realizing what I could do on a specific editing software, my ideas are limited because I can’t due much stuff on the editor, to knowledge.

How you have used or could use a skill or technique you learned this year outside of this class

A skill I’ve learned from this class in general is the idea of checkpoints. The thought of organizing on my own what I want to do would be great and the thought process will pay off in the end.

An idea you want to pitch for a project for next year's class

I think a good idea for next year could be making an animation skit or game.

3 tips for anyone taking this class

  • Turn in checkpoints on time

  • Even if it’s locked, still d the checkpoints (It’ll help with the thought process)

  • Follow the basic/easy rules of the class

Quarter 4 Benchmark

Slide 1: Hello, my name is tyrone and I’m going to be talking about the project experience of this class.

Slide 2: For my 1st quarter project, we had to make a website about ourselves which was an interesting experience for me.

Slide 3: My main goal for this project was so that jobs and other colleges could get to know more about me and understand who I am as a person in my community.

Slide 4: I think it was pretty successful making this website because not only did I talk about myself, but I also showed the work that I produced to understand my work ethic.

Slide 5: For my 2nd quarter project, I was one of a few that decided to make a graphic design by making a sign to show a message.

Slide 6: The main goal of the project was to make a street sign that tells you a message without using any words.

Slide 7: Unfortunately, I doesn't think it was a success for me because people didn’t really understand the message of my sign.

Slide 8: For project 3, I was one of the few to make a video about whatever we want, as long as it was short. I chose to make a video about video games.

Slide 9: My main goal for this project was to put my hobby on display so that everyone would get to know more about me.

Slide 10: I think that this project was pretty successful because everything went well and when I watch the video myself, I get fascinated.

Slide 11: As you can see here this my revised project. I chose to revise my project statement for my Q2 project.

Slide 12: I chose to revise this because I feel as though I didn’t do a good job overall on it by not answering all of the questions.

Slide 13: This just shows the differences of what my project used to look like and what it looks like now, but you can’t really see any differences from this point of view.

Slide 14: I believe the high point for me in this class was the fact that I either met or exceeded expectations on projects throughout this year.

Slide 15: I believe a growth for me was that I pretty much adapted to Miss Hertz’ expectations in terms of process because at first it was pretty difficult for me to adapt to how much she wanted done at a certain time which was pretty hard at first but got the hang of it.

Slide 16: All these projects helped my creativity develop outside of school which helped me design more things in an artist-like perspective.

Slide 17: I don’t think there is any need for changes, except for letting people have their own option of doing a project with Miss Hertz’ approval.

Slide 18: Make sure to have a creative mindset for your project because being really creative will help you get a good grade on an assignment.

Slide 19: Work ahead of time because if you slack off, all the checkpoints are going to close before you even know it, and then you’ll have a bad grade.

Slide 20: The last tip is to just have fun because it’s boring if you pick a project that you don’t want to do, and it can make you less eager to complete it.

Q4 Benchmark - Lex Martinez

The content of our video is a reenactment of Lex’s interview with Wendy Burke, a nurse who works at Jefferson Hospital in Abington. This video is a reenactment because I was unable to record her voice or video record during my time in the hospital, the staff there felt uncomfortable. Instead, I wrote a transcript and tried to think of a creative way to show the interview which involved Olamide and Jame. It was a very interesting interview because I learned a lot on how people are fighting the battle of addiction and I learned how she deals with people that suffer from an opioid addiction that enters into her hospital. We also chose this because it was very different than advocating for cigarettes which I am very used to after my experience.

I think we edited the video very well, used our time very well, and attempted to tell a meaningful story. I think we could have portrayed the characters in the interview much better and their performance could have been much better...but looking at the cards dealt, we produced the best work we could have.

The most meaningful part of the creating a PSA is trying to tell a story and the call to action that you want the millions of people to take after watching your PSA. Trying to tell that story is the best part for me.

There are many factors that contribute to public health but some of the major determinants would be income, employment, housing, education, and social support.
These play a major role in the healthcare system because these are the major categories in which our determinants of health fall under. There are so many determinants we need categories to seek what we can do politically and how we can change our economy and social elements.
The process of research has a focus on a set end goal which we actually didn’t do. Instead, we used the research to invoke emotion and to tell a meaningful story by creating our PSA.
There are many careers which apply to both fields, you could be a researcher that seeks to find the effect on public health situations on the body and etc.

Wayne & Jada's Hiv PSA

The topic that was given to us was HIV. I kept things on track and made sure that the project got done. The most meaning part was completing the project. The was a serious factor of public health because HIV can be given trough blood and any fluid type of transfer among someone who has HIV. The society we live in today don't seem to care as much as they used to about HIV, there are people with HIV in politics and people who are economically wealthy and can buy things are usually not affected by their HIV for example Magic  Johnson. The process of research since the 90's have rapid increasing after people got a treatment scientists have been working on more treatments and a cure for HIV. The CDC, is something that applies because they control diseases so everyone can be healthy and not allow diseases and viruses like HIV spread.

Multimedia and Design Q4 Benchmark

This was a website that talks about myself and what I aspire to be. I wanted to show the projects and achievements that I was most proud of and what I want to accomplish in the future.

I found the website to be a successful because I made sure to explain who I am as a person and why I want to become the person I want to be. The only part that needed a tid of fixing was the pictures I used for the website.

For my quarter two project I decided to edit two drawings that I created into something comical. My project pokes fun of the election without belittling anyone’s opinion on who should win, because if a joke offends a large amount of people, then it isn’t considered funny.

I made two of my characters either a Trump supporter or a Hillary supporter. The whole point of the project is to create a cartoon representation of the election, but at the same time create a smirk because of the facial expressions of both characters. I found the project successful because it managed to be funny and political at the same time.

For my project, I decided to create one of characters in its own world. The purpose of the project was to practice background making and have the background reflect on the character’s color scheme. I was going for a deformed space theme since the character is a spirit. The character is suppose to be the spirit of time and I thought it would be a good idea to draw her reaching out to the broken hourglass.

I wanted to show the theme of regret and imprisonment. Since my character is alone in her own world, reaching out to an hourglass which would turn back the hands of time. I believe that the art piece was a success because the background perfectly shows chaos and gives great detail on the character’s emotion. The shading is consistent and the reflection of the ground is smooth. It was experimental but it ended up being successful.

I decided to revise my third quarter project because I forgot to add eyebrows which is the most expressive part of anyone. I decided to add eyebrows because eyebrows show all expressions.

I felt that my character didn’t have a facial expression to match the pose and situation. Eyebrows are a powerful art component in order to portray emotion. I completely forgot to add it because I was so focus on the background. With the eyebrows I am able to give Nova who is my character emotions.

My highest point of the course was creating an original digital piece. I’ve been a digital artist for three years and I never pushed myself to create a background that reflects on one of my characters. That created the idea of my third quarter benchmark which turned out to be successful.

The biggest area of growth would have to be making backgrounds. Before the third quarter benchmark, I avoided making any type of background for my characters and if I did, I would make a simple one color background. For quarter three, I branched out and did a complex background. I was nervous to make a complex background but it turned out great in the end.

One tool I would use outside of school is the mirror effect. The mirror effect is where you can make a reflection on anything you draw by copy and pasting whatever is facing it and lowering the capacity. I thought this was a great trick because it gives the illusion that the surface glossy.

I think one cool idea that I would pitch in for next year is creating your own original character. An idea that is original but can be inspired by another creation.

First tip I would give to future students is be on time. Be on time with the checkpoints because assignments lock quickly. If you don’t turn it in then your grade drops tremendously and you miss out on criticism.

Second tip I would give is give good constructive criticism. Give details on what to improve and what the person did good on. No one can grow if all you say is “good job.”

My final tip would be use time productively. It’s best to do your checkpoint right away instead of waiting until the day is due because your teacher can give you feedback early and you can resubmit to get the full points.

Q4 Benchmark INDIVIDUAL final submission By Amin Robinson

Our topic was reproductive healthcare and in this video, David played the role of our spokesperson in which he explained the effects that low healthcare for women in U.S. I contributed to this project creating questions and acting as the interviewer I called multiple and loads of people and I made sure I got enough information on reproductive healthcare as possible. I feel like in creating this project I could have been more vocal with my interviewing. I've watched PSAs and I feel like we could have made our a little bit more PSA-ish because we never experienced it we actually didn't even know how to create it. reproductive health care affects mostly women because women are sometimes prohibited by society to make their own reproductive choices such as abortion and whether they want to keep a baby, Women are losing their reproductive rights. Some factors that affect public health is the loss of social power of the people. The public should be able to have some social power over health care because they are the ones that pay for it. Economics is the structure in how money is distributed and I don't think that is distributed when I come to reproductive health care because most women are at risk when it comes to their reproductive system. The process of research is being affected because there are many different views on reproductive rights some believe there should be pro-.life but those that believe they should have power over their reproductive system are usually poor and unable to handle a baby and insurance. I feel like careers like psychologist, and sociologist the most because psychology is the study of the mind, sometimes public health soon affects the mind of those in poor conditions while sociologist study the society's effects on a person what makes a person mentally sick or physically sick

Q4 Benchmark

Slide 2:

Here goes my Quarter 1 project

Slide 3:

The project was a website design project where you design your own website about your academic and overall life. The goal for this project was inform people about your life, both academic and everyday life.

Slide 4:

What was successful about my website was my “About Me” page. I feel as though I gave enough information about me and gave information about my personal/academic life that people should know.

Slide 5:

Here goes my Quarter 2 Benchmark.

Slide 6:

The project I decided to work on was the 3D modeling project. I had to choose a design that I wanted to focus on, such asa  house. I chose a house because that’s where I am most comfortable at and I feel as though other people can connect as well.

Slide 7:

What was successful about this project was the garage design of the house. I made the car fit the garage proportionally better and always improved on the car’s design.

Slide 8:

Here goes my Quarter 3 Benchmark.

Slide 9:

The project I decided to work on was the Image editing project. I had to choose a certain image or certain images and change the aspect and design of the photo(s). I had changed my whole design because I felt my first design wasn’t as creative.

Slide 10:

What was successful about my project was the drastic change in design, at first I wanted to make an eyeball with fire in it but I had a different choice in design.

Slide 11:

Here goes my revised project that I chose.

Slide 12:

I chose this project to revise because I felt as though I had the most success on. I went from the fire eyeball, to the cat and the forest, to my Quarter 3 project, to my revised project.

Slide 13;

Here goes two images showing the changes of before I started this project to After I was finished.

Slide 14:

I enjoyed seeing the changes I made from the finished Quarter 3 project to my revised Project, I feel as though there is a major change and the image looks totally different.

Slide 15:

My area of growth is creating designs, not for just my revised project but also my Quarter 2 benchmark.

Slide 16:

A skill I used to have when I was younger was drawing and coloring. I know it sounds childish but I feel as though that I was good at those things and that would be helpful when it comes to image editing.

Slide 17:

One project idea I have is to cooperate your own artistic design of any kind and use computer editing to design the picture even more. I don’t know what program is needed for that but I feel as though that would be a great idea.

Slide 18:

My first tip is to use as much time as you have to think about putting creativity in your project and don’t make it bland or dull.

Slide 19:

Another tip is that if you don’t like your design, you can always change it to make a better design that you and others will like.

Slide 20:

My last tip is to don’t be afraid of putting your personal aspects in your project. Make your project have a personal connection to you so it will make it easier for people understand why you chose your certain project design.

Q4 Final Benchmark

Slide #1 : Hello this my Ignite presentation and I will be showing you the slides that I made.

Slide #2: For Q1 we was able to create our own website and I wanted to showcase an overall section of my life.. As you can see, I had made a change to my website.

Slide #3: My goal for this project was to complete it and make it look nice. Also for people to see my work page. As you can see we had to add home page, all about me page, a project page, and a resume page and also a contact page.

Slide #4: I had liked the way it came out at first but after a while I thought it was to dark and boring, so I changed it and tried to make it lighter which is now pink.

Slide #5: For Q2 I did the Graphic design project. We had to create a road sign that was creative and never been around.

Slide #6: My goal for this project was to do something creative and funny and something that I seen in scare movies. A  "beware" sign is what I did. Which is a person jumping or running out in front of a car late at night.

Slide #7:The project was a little hard because I used different websites to create what I wanted but I used pixlr.com and I did a sketch and then did the final drawing.

Slide #8: For Q3 I chose to do a video. We needed to make at least 1-3 minutes long. So thats what I did but I worked with a classmate sakura seal. We used wevideo to make our video and it went to 4 minutes long but it was fine.

Slide #9: We made a riddle video. Our goal was to make people laugh. The people in the video and the people watching it. Which me and Sakura did achieve.

Slide #10: The video was a success because we got the project done and put it on youtube and got a good grade on it. An 89 we got.

Slide #11: I revise my website project, as I said earlier. I found out that I made it dark, so I wanted to change the theme and it make it brighter.

Slide #12: I used not a lot of tools to change things on my website. I used different fonts and changed the background. That really wasn't much.

Slide #13: As you can see, instead of being black and blue I changed it to pink and white. I thought it would be nicer and prettier.

Slide #14: My high point would be that I succeeded all my projects and I learned about new websites and how to use them, which now i can use outside of class.

Slide #15: An area of growth would be when I realized that in everything you do there would be challenges and you have to overcome them to succeeded. Like i did for all this projects.

Slide #16: I can use the skill that I learned of editing videos and photos in my other classes besides this class or even maybe when I get to college.

Slide #17: An Idea that I might have for the next class is to be creative with your project.

Slide #18: Tip #1 that I have is to do all your checkpoints on time and well done. Don't waste time on other things. Use you time wisely.

Slide #19: Tip #2 that I have is to ask for help when you need it. Don't be afraid to ask because you don't want to be stuck on something and not overcome it. Ask a the teacher or any of your classmates.

Slide #20: Last Tip #3 that I have is don't stress over it, be creative and have fun but do your best. That's what counts.

Reproductive Healthcare w/ L.A.D. News!

In my group’s video, w/ Amin and Lamont, we decided to interview my Uncle who was the Vice President of Operations at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabus Health System. In our interview, we go over the importance of Planned Parenthood, the importance of it being available, and the importance of who is controlling it, plus more.

I chose this topic because I was pulled into it after being late to class, but agreed to it because I felt that the injustice of repealing Planned Parenthood just seemed much too unrealistically evil at the time when I heard about it. It pulled a heartstring I didn’t know was there.

In the project, I’m pretty sure I contributed a good one-third of a pie, especially towards the end. I know that I helped out with the first checkpoint, didn’t do the questions in checkpoint two, but lastly did edit the video at the end and conduct the interview, which was pretty heavy on its own. In doing things differently, I could’ve just been more responsible in my timing in getting everything done.

  1. The factors that affect public health are the politicians that sell it and the local hospitals and offices that inform people of the best health options and spread their info to news stations to inform the public, furthermore.

  2. Economy, being money and trade, influences how much people are willing to invest in their health so long as it doesn’t make them go broke, politics influence the public’s will with arguments that only provide money from being heard but not any actual helpful effects for the people affected by them, and half of society just tries to wrap their finger around the problem and promote solutions to these problems that help those affected by said problems for the low cost of free thought and better health rather than money that doesn’t even go to them in the long run.

  3. The process of research is strenuous to get into and it takes a very long time before you may reach any executive anywhere for help. It almost felt unheard of in my group’s research.

  4. One profession pertaining to public health in anatomy and physiology would be, Vice President of Operations inside a hospital. Others would be Pharmacists, Dental Hygienists, Chiropractors, R.N.’s, Biomedical Laser Technicians, Neurophysiological Technologists… etc.

The video will be up soon, it’s just processing.

Alcohol Abuse & Public Health

Overall, I enjoyed this project however the process was very stressful. Starting with the interview, it took a while for people to get back to us because they were so busy. It took us a few weeks until we were finally able to get the interview. When we did, we were able to ask Dr. Katherine Williams all the questions we had a phone interview which was over a half hour long. After finally getting our interview we then worked on filming other clips for our final piece. That was moving very smoothly until we had some problems with getting the footage off the cameras. From this project though we did learn a lot about how alcohol abuse in one person can impact many others.

Ignite Presentation

Myles Nicholson
6/6/17                               Media & Design

In my 1st project I did Intro to Computer Science because it seemed very easy when I came to this class. During the Intro to Computer I met a dog, a dog name Karel and I helped her move around and go place to place. During it I completed every single step EXCEPT number 9 that was more of a difficult one but I enjoyed doing every step.

I design my project as a 3 football teens trying to make it to the NFL as their main focus and goal. If I was too put this in the hands of a sports commentator it might make it big stream because of the details. We all are jumping for the money trying to make it to the NFL as a primary job and we all are going at it together. It took me nearly two weeks to complete this project since it was hard to use Pixlr tools. By the time I got it all figured out it was almost time to turn in the project. Throughout this project I realized I have to take my time and be patient because I got frustrated every time something doesn't go my way or look the way I want it to be. I didn't want to continue to finish the project because the project wasn't how I like it and it was trash in my eyes. But I overcame it and finished it in a good way. For someone attempting this project you can use Pixlr it's a great source but it's a little complicated.

Although, using Pixlr helped me get my message across.By placing the draft background and the money over the football, I was able to show people that I wanted to make it to the draft. I used the football background with the money over the football I grabbed people's attention so they can know that I want to play in the NFL. This project inspired me to continue to imagine editing. This is something I will show my kids when I get older.

Media & Design Ignite Presentation

For my Media and Design final project I had to put all of the projects I did in my class and put them in a slideshow to present to the class, but the slides will only be there for a few seconds at a time until the auto change. As part of this project, I had to write a reflection for each project. My reflection is as followed:

For the first project in Media and Design class, I had to create a website that has a portfolio about me along with other things about me. The goal of the project was that the website would be a portfolio so when we could send this to colleges we are applying to and they can learn a little about us. My own personal goal, however, was to have a place where I could have some memories and remember. I believe that the project was very successful. I still update the website even though I’m not getting a grade for it anymore. The website gave me a place to look back at and be proud of. I have my own website that I made myself! It’s wonderful. I love how I set it up and the pictures I used.
For the second project in Media and Design class, I had to make a video that would express myself. The goal of the project was that when someone watched the video they would learn something and take away a message from it. I believe the project was not very successful, it could definitely have gone better. During this project, I kind of rushed it. I also did not take a lot of time, at the beginning of the project, to make sure YouTube Editor was the best software to use.
For my third project in Media and Design class, I had to photoshop two images together to make a new picture. The goal of the project was to learn how to edit pictures and to use pictures to convey a message, a picture is worth a thousand words after all. I believe this project was successful but could have definitely been better. I was able to edit the two pictures together, but making it look real was very hard. When I cut pictures out there was still some edges which made it look boxy.
The project I have decided to revise was my website project. On my website, I did
not have much on there about me and I felt like that was wrong. So I choose this
project to edit for two reasons. The first reason is that I want people who come on
my website to know who I am. The second reason is that when I come back to this
website in the future I will remember some things I may forget later on. I added two
paragraphs to me About Me page. I wrote about how I’m a procrastinator and about
my favourite place.
A high point of this class was making my very own website. The website, TBExtraorinary, is the best thing I did in this class and I am very proud of it. I think it looks amazing and it’s so cool to have something up that everyone can see. An area of growth for me during this project was making this slide. Being able to put everything together, have it organised, and see everything I did in one place is a really cool thing to me.  I used the skills I have learned in this class outside of class during my Spanish Project. For my Spanish project, I was in charge of making a website and I was able to make a pretty nice looking website using the skills I learned in this class. An idea I have for next year’s class is more presentations maybe? I myself like to talk and presenting lets me do that. But also, presentations allows people to share the work they did with everyone else in the class. Not everyone has to present, just people that would like to.
Three tips I have for anyone taking this class:
This class is an easy A if you just do the work. Since it’s in checkpoints it’s really easy to keep track of everything, even if you miss a class. This class is very easy, just do the work.
If by chance you miss a class and you find it a little hard to catch up, just submit whatever you have. A 5/10 is better than a plain 0/10. Ms Hertz is very understanding so if you just talk to her or send her an Email I’m sure you could figure something out.
Finally, just have fun. This class is a very fun, relaxed, and chill class. If you just stay on top of everything you can have ten minutes maybe just doing whatever you want, whether its other classwork or watching videos.

“Kev Da Barber”  (Barber name)

https://www.wevideo.com/view/92221302

How does someone's haircut relate to their identity? In an article from Today’s News some Hair Experts says your hair tells a lot about who you are.  The article stated that Straight hair is more conservative and Curly hair was more casual. Everyone’s hair style means different things. A person may be wearing a certain hair style for one  reason, and I’m wearing my hair style like the way it is for my own reasons. Everyone hairs tells a story about who you are and where you come from.  Everyone hair is able to do different things as some other hair textures may not allow you to do.  You have may have spikey, curly, puffy, nappy, straight, short, long hair, etc but it’s all about having your own style and wearing what makes you the most comfortable.

Everyone should know the style they like their hair to be. A lot of people decide to wear their hair to fit in with the trends that's out right now.  That never was the case for me. I always was the kid that wanted to be different. I remember being the only kid in elementary school to have a fade with a part on the side. My hair cuts defined who I was growing up, I was the kid that wanted to be different. Everyone’s should sense a more confident self when you get your haircut or hair done.  Different Hair textures allow for you to wear different hairstyles because they don't always go good with each other. It would be extremely difficult for a person with spiky straight hair to try to get a fly wavy hair pattern. All hair is different and you have decide how to wear your hair that best fits YOU!

Heart Disease and Stroke PSA

My topic for the project was Heart Disease and Stroke. We had to make a video and our video included and interview, skit, and facts. We didn't get to choose the topic we wanted we had to pick out  of a container and whatever we pulled out is what our topic was and we got Heart Disease and Stroke.

In the group I helped with checkpoints. I came up with some the interview questions. I help record the video. I also helped with the research and facts during this project. I think we could have communicated a little more throughout the project but I am content with the final submission

Although I am glad it is over I learned new things especially from Jennifer which was the person we interviewed. I am glad we came together and got the job done.

Motor Vehicle injury

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUgvNTRNg-Q
-Our video is about motor vehicle accidents, in the video, we covered the statistics behind those crashes, the aftermath of those crashes and how it is a public health issue. Teenagers like ourselves are one of the most affected demographic due to motor vehicle accidents. This topic is very important because it's something that is ongoing and often not looked upon. This video will be a catalyst for this topic to be taken into consideration.
-We worked in a group of 3 people, including myself. I was responsible for doing the interview with Mr. Jean Mitchell because I am the one who referred him for the position. I was also responsible for the opening of the PSA. Those were my two major assignments in the group, besides that, I work along with my group members in other components to complete the project.
- I think the interview was well done, the questions were meaningful and Mr.Jean Mitchell answered them well and stayed on topic. I think the video could be better, could have been if we had pictures but we don't because my group members didn't agree with that idea.
-The most meaningful part of completing this project happened during the interview.  Besides all the research we did on statistics behind motor vehicle accidents, the interview provided us with a more human interaction and I valued that.

Heart Disease & Stroke

With doing this project my partner and I chose to do heart disease and strokes because we felt that it was in the top 5 of the leading causes of death which is terrible. With this project, I have learned a lot and we were able to network with people from organizations and receive even more information. In this group, I contributed lots if information and I also contributed both of the interviews. Lastly, I contributed by editing the video. I felt like I had a huge part in the project. The most meaningful part of the experience of creating this PSA was putting together all of the bits and pieces of information together into one video.
Public health is a big issue pertaining to heart disease and strokes. Heart disease is a high rating of the cause of death in African Americans. It is almost number one in being the highest cause of death in the United States.
The economy, politics, and society also plays a big role in the healthcare system such as networking and raising money to find different research programs and free clinics for communities. Money wise the process of research id being affected because they can't get what they need if there is no money and they can't do tests or research if they don't have candidates so I say people also affect the process of research.

    Reproductive Health Care

For this project, my group members and I made a PSA on reproductive health care. Based on this project the most meaningful information we found in each of the interviews within the video. Those information entails background on Planned Parenthood and also what reproductive health. The video even mentions that reproductive health care people background from all socioeconomic statuses. I also did the research, interviewing and helping my group member to complete the video editing. We looking for programs like Planned Parenthood that support, educate, and provide services. In my opinion, I think if government stopping Planned Parenthood that will risk millions of people who depend on it. We interviewed a principal at a high school a nurse, and counselor. The most meaningful part of the project was the anticipation of completing the project and turning it in soon. my group members and I communicate each other and achieved our goal and everyone did their part on this project.

Quarter 4 Benchmark: Motor Vehicle Injuries

The overall topic of our video was Motor Vehicle Injures and why it is a public health issue. Our country is a world leader in motor vehicle crashes and injuries simply for the fact that people don’t typically wear their seatbelts. This is what causes tragedies and casualties. I contributed to the group by getting the majority of our sources back in Checkpoint 1. What I’ve done well, in my opinion, was finding our background research and contributing ideas for our PSA video. What could’ve been done differently was the communication between my group members and I. Some didn’t know what we were doing on certain checkpoints and some were lost but overall, we all pitched in making our PSA video. My group member, Anaiah, was in charge of editing since she’s experienced. The most meaningful part of the experience of making the PSA was gathering information and now knowing that statistics of M.V.I. that happen in the U.S.

Factors that affect public health is social support, income, race, gender, heredity/genetics, age, education/literacy, etc. The economy plays a part in public health by health programs receiving funding to help people in the community and to fund research for diseases. Politics play a part by legislative policies setting down the ground rules for insurance companies and health facilities to help patients the best they can and have their interests at heart so that we could have a healthy society. Society plays a part by keeping the health facilities in business to help keep them healthy and safe. Without a community, hospitals and clinics would have no patients. Society helps keep the facilities up and running so that everyone can be safe.

    (Jose Colon) Reproductive Health

    Reflection:
This video contains information regarding reproductive health and also what it means to high school seniors and other professionals, such as Christopher Johnson and Adrienne Williams. The most notable information can be found in each of the three interviews within the video. This information entails background on Planned Parenthood and also what reproductive health looks like today, the video even mentions that good reproductive health care incorporates people from all socioeconomic statuses. I myself contributed to the research, video editing, and interviewing. I would say my group and I did well with the interviewing process and finding people who all individually could contribute different points on reproductive health. The most meaningful part about creating this video to me was gathering information regarding what good reproductive Health Care looks like in today's world.
