Media and Design: Final Project
Slide 1: Web design
The overall vision and goal(s) of the project
Slide 2:I wanted to make a website that highlighted my accomplishments and also told something about me.
Was the project successful? Why? Why not?
Slide3: I think the project was successful because I got to tell everything I wanted about me on the website, but it could still be better. I could have Included my family members, friends’ names, and more pictures of them both.
Quarter 2
Slide 1: Image Editing
The overall vision and goal(s) of the project
Slide 2: After seeing a cool movie in 2016, it’s theme stuck with me and I wanted to convey it in the image editing project. We had to create one image that encompasses a message and at least four images. There would have to be evidence that you used editing tools.
Was the project successful? Why? Why not?
Slide 3: I think the project was successful because my vision was successfully met. I first found the images that I wanted and sometimes I found other images that changed how I wanted to show my final image. It was for the better and my final image turned out better than I thought.
Quarter 3
Slide 1: Graphic Design
The overall vision and goal(s) of the project
Slide 2: In this project, we were supposed to make a sign. I thought I could be realistic and make a street sign. I wanted it to be funny and a twist on what people usually think.
Was the project successful? Why? Why not?
Slide3: I think the project was a little successful. In the end I was still able to make the sign. But I was very limited to what I could make, probably because I didn't have much practice with the website. And the tool I was using wouldn’t let me do the things I wanted to, so I had to work around it.
Quarter 4
In this project I simply put a sign around the artwork I had done to make it more realistic and followed the directions of the project. I did this project because I felt I haven’t done as well on this project as the others. So wanted to improve my work.
Your high point of the course when it comes to your learning
In this class I think i have really good visions of what I want to create even before the next checkpoint would tell me to do so.
An area of growth for you
Although, my visions are great, my representation of them could be better. Due to me not fully realizing what I could do on a specific editing software, my ideas are limited because I can’t due much stuff on the editor, to knowledge.
How you have used or could use a skill or technique you learned this year outside of this class
A skill I’ve learned from this class in general is the idea of checkpoints. The thought of organizing on my own what I want to do would be great and the thought process will pay off in the end.
An idea you want to pitch for a project for next year's class
I think a good idea for next year could be making an animation skit or game.
3 tips for anyone taking this class
Turn in checkpoints on time
Even if it’s locked, still d the checkpoints (It’ll help with the thought process)
Follow the basic/easy rules of the class
Quarter 4 Benchmark
Slide 1: Hello, my name is tyrone and I’m going to be talking about the project experience of this class.
Slide 2: For my 1st quarter project, we had to make a website about ourselves which was an interesting experience for me.
Slide 3: My main goal for this project was so that jobs and other colleges could get to know more about me and understand who I am as a person in my community.
Slide 4: I think it was pretty successful making this website because not only did I talk about myself, but I also showed the work that I produced to understand my work ethic.
Slide 5: For my 2nd quarter project, I was one of a few that decided to make a graphic design by making a sign to show a message.
Slide 6: The main goal of the project was to make a street sign that tells you a message without using any words.
Slide 7: Unfortunately, I doesn't think it was a success for me because people didn’t really understand the message of my sign.
Slide 8: For project 3, I was one of the few to make a video about whatever we want, as long as it was short. I chose to make a video about video games.
Slide 9: My main goal for this project was to put my hobby on display so that everyone would get to know more about me.
Slide 10: I think that this project was pretty successful because everything went well and when I watch the video myself, I get fascinated.
Slide 11: As you can see here this my revised project. I chose to revise my project statement for my Q2 project.
Slide 12: I chose to revise this because I feel as though I didn’t do a good job overall on it by not answering all of the questions.
Slide 13: This just shows the differences of what my project used to look like and what it looks like now, but you can’t really see any differences from this point of view.
Slide 14: I believe the high point for me in this class was the fact that I either met or exceeded expectations on projects throughout this year.
Slide 15: I believe a growth for me was that I pretty much adapted to Miss Hertz’ expectations in terms of process because at first it was pretty difficult for me to adapt to how much she wanted done at a certain time which was pretty hard at first but got the hang of it.
Slide 16: All these projects helped my creativity develop outside of school which helped me design more things in an artist-like perspective.
Slide 17: I don’t think there is any need for changes, except for letting people have their own option of doing a project with Miss Hertz’ approval.
Slide 18: Make sure to have a creative mindset for your project because being really creative will help you get a good grade on an assignment.
Slide 19: Work ahead of time because if you slack off, all the checkpoints are going to close before you even know it, and then you’ll have a bad grade.
Slide 20: The last tip is to just have fun because it’s boring if you pick a project that you don’t want to do, and it can make you less eager to complete it.

Multimedia and Design Q4 Benchmark
This was a website that talks about myself and what I aspire to be. I wanted to show the projects and achievements that I was most proud of and what I want to accomplish in the future.
I found the website to be a successful because I made sure to explain who I am as a person and why I want to become the person I want to be. The only part that needed a tid of fixing was the pictures I used for the website.
For my quarter two project I decided to edit two drawings that I created into something comical. My project pokes fun of the election without belittling anyone’s opinion on who should win, because if a joke offends a large amount of people, then it isn’t considered funny.
I made two of my characters either a Trump supporter or a Hillary supporter. The whole point of the project is to create a cartoon representation of the election, but at the same time create a smirk because of the facial expressions of both characters. I found the project successful because it managed to be funny and political at the same time.
For my project, I decided to create one of characters in its own world. The purpose of the project was to practice background making and have the background reflect on the character’s color scheme. I was going for a deformed space theme since the character is a spirit. The character is suppose to be the spirit of time and I thought it would be a good idea to draw her reaching out to the broken hourglass.
I wanted to show the theme of regret and imprisonment. Since my character is alone in her own world, reaching out to an hourglass which would turn back the hands of time. I believe that the art piece was a success because the background perfectly shows chaos and gives great detail on the character’s emotion. The shading is consistent and the reflection of the ground is smooth. It was experimental but it ended up being successful.
I decided to revise my third quarter project because I forgot to add eyebrows which is the most expressive part of anyone. I decided to add eyebrows because eyebrows show all expressions.
I felt that my character didn’t have a facial expression to match the pose and situation. Eyebrows are a powerful art component in order to portray emotion. I completely forgot to add it because I was so focus on the background. With the eyebrows I am able to give Nova who is my character emotions.
My highest point of the course was creating an original digital piece. I’ve been a digital artist for three years and I never pushed myself to create a background that reflects on one of my characters. That created the idea of my third quarter benchmark which turned out to be successful.
The biggest area of growth would have to be making backgrounds. Before the third quarter benchmark, I avoided making any type of background for my characters and if I did, I would make a simple one color background. For quarter three, I branched out and did a complex background. I was nervous to make a complex background but it turned out great in the end.
One tool I would use outside of school is the mirror effect. The mirror effect is where you can make a reflection on anything you draw by copy and pasting whatever is facing it and lowering the capacity. I thought this was a great trick because it gives the illusion that the surface glossy.
I think one cool idea that I would pitch in for next year is creating your own original character. An idea that is original but can be inspired by another creation.
First tip I would give to future students is be on time. Be on time with the checkpoints because assignments lock quickly. If you don’t turn it in then your grade drops tremendously and you miss out on criticism.
Second tip I would give is give good constructive criticism. Give details on what to improve and what the person did good on. No one can grow if all you say is “good job.”
My final tip would be use time productively. It’s best to do your checkpoint right away instead of waiting until the day is due because your teacher can give you feedback early and you can resubmit to get the full points.

Here goes my Quarter 1 project
Slide 3:
The project was a website design project where you design your own website about your academic and overall life. The goal for this project was inform people about your life, both academic and everyday life.
Slide 4:
What was successful about my website was my “About Me” page. I feel as though I gave enough information about me and gave information about my personal/academic life that people should know.
Slide 5:
Here goes my Quarter 2 Benchmark.
Slide 6:
The project I decided to work on was the 3D modeling project. I had to choose a design that I wanted to focus on, such asa house. I chose a house because that’s where I am most comfortable at and I feel as though other people can connect as well.
Slide 7:
What was successful about this project was the garage design of the house. I made the car fit the garage proportionally better and always improved on the car’s design.
Slide 8:
Here goes my Quarter 3 Benchmark.
Slide 9:
The project I decided to work on was the Image editing project. I had to choose a certain image or certain images and change the aspect and design of the photo(s). I had changed my whole design because I felt my first design wasn’t as creative.
Slide 10:
What was successful about my project was the drastic change in design, at first I wanted to make an eyeball with fire in it but I had a different choice in design.
Slide 11:
Here goes my revised project that I chose.
Slide 12:
I chose this project to revise because I felt as though I had the most success on. I went from the fire eyeball, to the cat and the forest, to my Quarter 3 project, to my revised project.
Slide 13;
Here goes two images showing the changes of before I started this project to After I was finished.
Slide 14:
I enjoyed seeing the changes I made from the finished Quarter 3 project to my revised Project, I feel as though there is a major change and the image looks totally different.
Slide 15:
My area of growth is creating designs, not for just my revised project but also my Quarter 2 benchmark.
Slide 16:
A skill I used to have when I was younger was drawing and coloring. I know it sounds childish but I feel as though that I was good at those things and that would be helpful when it comes to image editing.
Slide 17:
One project idea I have is to cooperate your own artistic design of any kind and use computer editing to design the picture even more. I don’t know what program is needed for that but I feel as though that would be a great idea.
Slide 18:
My first tip is to use as much time as you have to think about putting creativity in your project and don’t make it bland or dull.
Slide 19:
Another tip is that if you don’t like your design, you can always change it to make a better design that you and others will like.
Slide 20:
My last tip is to don’t be afraid of putting your personal aspects in your project. Make your project have a personal connection to you so it will make it easier for people understand why you chose your certain project design.

Reproductive Healthcare w/ L.A.D. News!
In my group’s video, w/ Amin and Lamont, we decided to interview my Uncle who was the Vice President of Operations at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabus Health System. In our interview, we go over the importance of Planned Parenthood, the importance of it being available, and the importance of who is controlling it, plus more.
I chose this topic because I was pulled into it after being late to class, but agreed to it because I felt that the injustice of repealing Planned Parenthood just seemed much too unrealistically evil at the time when I heard about it. It pulled a heartstring I didn’t know was there.
In the project, I’m pretty sure I contributed a good one-third of a pie, especially towards the end. I know that I helped out with the first checkpoint, didn’t do the questions in checkpoint two, but lastly did edit the video at the end and conduct the interview, which was pretty heavy on its own. In doing things differently, I could’ve just been more responsible in my timing in getting everything done.
The factors that affect public health are the politicians that sell it and the local hospitals and offices that inform people of the best health options and spread their info to news stations to inform the public, furthermore.
Economy, being money and trade, influences how much people are willing to invest in their health so long as it doesn’t make them go broke, politics influence the public’s will with arguments that only provide money from being heard but not any actual helpful effects for the people affected by them, and half of society just tries to wrap their finger around the problem and promote solutions to these problems that help those affected by said problems for the low cost of free thought and better health rather than money that doesn’t even go to them in the long run.
The process of research is strenuous to get into and it takes a very long time before you may reach any executive anywhere for help. It almost felt unheard of in my group’s research.
One profession pertaining to public health in anatomy and physiology would be, Vice President of Operations inside a hospital. Others would be Pharmacists, Dental Hygienists, Chiropractors, R.N.’s, Biomedical Laser Technicians, Neurophysiological Technologists… etc.
The video will be up soon, it’s just processing.

How does someone's haircut relate to their identity? In an article from Today’s News some Hair Experts says your hair tells a lot about who you are. The article stated that Straight hair is more conservative and Curly hair was more casual. Everyone’s hair style means different things. A person may be wearing a certain hair style for one reason, and I’m wearing my hair style like the way it is for my own reasons. Everyone hairs tells a story about who you are and where you come from. Everyone hair is able to do different things as some other hair textures may not allow you to do. You have may have spikey, curly, puffy, nappy, straight, short, long hair, etc but it’s all about having your own style and wearing what makes you the most comfortable.
Everyone should know the style they like their hair to be. A lot of people decide to wear their hair to fit in with the trends that's out right now. That never was the case for me. I always was the kid that wanted to be different. I remember being the only kid in elementary school to have a fade with a part on the side. My hair cuts defined who I was growing up, I was the kid that wanted to be different. Everyone’s should sense a more confident self when you get your haircut or hair done. Different Hair textures allow for you to wear different hairstyles because they don't always go good with each other. It would be extremely difficult for a person with spiky straight hair to try to get a fly wavy hair pattern. All hair is different and you have decide how to wear your hair that best fits YOU!

Reproductive Health Care
For this project, my group members and I made a PSA on reproductive health care. Based on this project the most meaningful information we found in each of the interviews within the video. Those information entails background on Planned Parenthood and also what reproductive health. The video even mentions that reproductive health care people background from all socioeconomic statuses. I also did the research, interviewing and helping my group member to complete the video editing. We looking for programs like Planned Parenthood that support, educate, and provide services. In my opinion, I think if government stopping Planned Parenthood that will risk millions of people who depend on it. We interviewed a principal at a high school a nurse, and counselor. The most meaningful part of the project was the anticipation of completing the project and turning it in soon. my group members and I communicate each other and achieved our goal and everyone did their part on this project.
Teen Pregnancy : Public Health Concern
Quarter 4 Benchmark: Motor Vehicle Injuries
The overall topic of our video was Motor Vehicle Injures and why it is a public health issue. Our country is a world leader in motor vehicle crashes and injuries simply for the fact that people don’t typically wear their seatbelts. This is what causes tragedies and casualties. I contributed to the group by getting the majority of our sources back in Checkpoint 1. What I’ve done well, in my opinion, was finding our background research and contributing ideas for our PSA video. What could’ve been done differently was the communication between my group members and I. Some didn’t know what we were doing on certain checkpoints and some were lost but overall, we all pitched in making our PSA video. My group member, Anaiah, was in charge of editing since she’s experienced. The most meaningful part of the experience of making the PSA was gathering information and now knowing that statistics of M.V.I. that happen in the U.S.
Factors that affect public health is social support, income, race, gender, heredity/genetics, age, education/literacy, etc. The economy plays a part in public health by health programs receiving funding to help people in the community and to fund research for diseases. Politics play a part by legislative policies setting down the ground rules for insurance companies and health facilities to help patients the best they can and have their interests at heart so that we could have a healthy society. Society plays a part by keeping the health facilities in business to help keep them healthy and safe. Without a community, hospitals and clinics would have no patients. Society helps keep the facilities up and running so that everyone can be safe.
